Murtha: OK to send Gitmo prisoners to Pennsylvania.
yall replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I actually have no problem with that. I'd take it one step further and execute them (assuming by 'terrorist' we mean someone hell-bent on killing innocent civilians in the name of religion). Where I do have a problem is that there is no way of knowing which of the detainees are actually 'terrorists'. How many were farmers that picked up a gun because some local Taliban commander forced them to do so, and they were then captured? How many were falsely accused and turned in by someone for a bounty? If there was some litmus test that was 100% accurate in determining who was guaranteed to go commit murder in the name of religion, I'd have no problem shooting them. But unfortunately, we live in the real world and we have to have some kind of due process to protect the one innocent guy. edit: Wasn't really directing it at you BF, just spring boarding off your post... -
I hope she gets some of the money up front and buys some Proactive.

Straight out of that Alanis Morissette song
yall replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in Off the Wall Archives
LOL - I've been saying "a bug in a glass of wine isn't irony" since that song came out. -
Had Barbills wings last week: Incredible. Might be some of the best ever. Plus, their beef on weck is great too!

For those of you thinking about making the switch, I will warn you to be careful when talking to their sales people. They will misquote rates, and tell outright lies to get you to sign up. Their customer rep. assured me this very morning that they now offered Howard Stern On Demand. He even (supposedly) checked with his supervisor. This was a flat out lie. Verizon has no deal in any area to provide that service, but this dude was ready to have me cancel my cable and schedule an install based upon his lie. Also, last week a friend had Verizon install FiOS TV and he had a similar experience. The phone rep told him about a deal that didn't exist to sign him up. So if you are switching to FiOS because you think they will be better than TWC in terms of customer service, you should think twice.

I want to switch to FiOS so badly, but my wife refuses to give up Howard Stern OnDemand.

I like staying at the Flamingo. Central to the strip, and pretty cheap. Decent buffet. Also, as far as shows go, the Amazing Jonathan is great.

Should he expect a meaningful discussion when in his opening post he refers to everyone as 'tools'?

What, and throw out all those years spent gerrymandering her little slice of heaven?

Playboy Cover In Mexico Shows The Virgin Mary
yall replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
How did they know she resembled the Virgin Mary? I'd have picked a nice Jewish girl, not a Mexican. -
Yeah, but with the money he is saving, think of how many tennis bracelets he can buy for Mary!

Um... it's a phrase used to describe anyone who is effin loony. You know, people that make out with their siblings, wear vials of blood around their necks, travel to foreign lands and steal babies. Wing-nut. Crazie. Psycho. Loonie. Crayonz.

She's better looking that that wing-nut Jolie.

Very much so.

It at least gives me something to go on. Thanks.

I'm generally pretty reluctant to ask for legal advice on the internet, but I figured I'd get some thoughts from people around here. My wife's sister died recently, and was living in NC. Her mother is in this area (WNY). The sister had no significant other, no children, etc. The family (mom, my wife, and other sister) are in 100% agreement about what should be done with any remaining assets. That being said, there was no will. So regarding bank accounts, car, etc., should they contact a lawyer, or given that there should be no counter-claims to any of the assets, will they be able to do this on their own? Also, any knowledge of what should be done with her auto (1 payment left, titled and registered in NC, but now in NY) would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

I'm in too. I live 2 miles from the Stadium for a reason.

Ha! Thanks for the reminder!!! http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ It's called "Child's Play" and it's a charity designed to get video games in the hands of sick and ostensibly bored little kids. I petitioned the operators to get Women & Childrens hospital on the list a few years back. It's a great charity run by the guys at www.penny-arcade.com, a popular web-comic for gamers (in fact they even have their own game now, available for PC and on the Xbox Live Marketplace). The deal is, the hospitals (all over the US) put up wish lists for the kids in the hospital, which are set up on Amazon.com. You purchase stuff from the wish list and it's delivered to the hospital. The wish lists have all sort of things ranging from games and hardware, to movies and accessories, and there is something for nearly every budget. I encourage everyone to participate. Also, here is a wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child's_Play_(charity) edit: If you are on the fence about making a donation, read the letters: http://www.childsplaycharity.org/photosletters.php

Considering that watching our passing attack yesterday was akin to getting kicked in the nuts, it's no surprise TE has a groin injury.

Any of those things can happen on a 12 year old sled too. I understand your point, but I'm also not expecting much for the age and price. Keep in mind my last sleds were a Moto-Ski Cadet and a Ski-Rule which were about 20 years old themselves at the time. At any rate, I did pick up the sled for $450.00. Started up cold just fine. No apparent rust, damage, anything like that. The only major ding was that the seat needs a new cover, but the guy had one and included it in the deal.

Yes, I saw someone using it. I'm not sure how to unlock it though. Probably a perk, as mentioned previously.

I actually don't want to haul ass. I've known a number of people who have been decapitated or badly injured on these things. Mostly, I want to take some slow rides around the trails near my house. Sober, slow, and during daylight. Yeah, I'm a sissy. But that is also why I'm ok getting an older one, because for as little as I will ride it, it doesn't make sense to spend more than 500 bucks.
