Please tell me you guy are not serious about
yall replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at SUNY Fredonia when that happened. IIRC she even did their dishes the next day, which was one of the things that got those kids off the hook. What rape victim sticks around the day after and cleans your kitchen? -
FYI to my friends on TSW, my Dad died yesterday

Sorry to hear that Dean. -
Sorry to hear that.

Simply put, her antics and rants could be easily misconstrued by the tin-foil hat brigade as a reason to not answer the census at all. To be fair, I'm not sure if the completeness of responses has any effect on the count and it subsequent effects on funding, etc.
-
For it to be partisan rhetoric, one would have to think that some level of her constituency would believe such a thing, no? Is it such a leap to conclude that she might believe it as well? Just like with the knucklehead who may or may not have actually been worried about an island sinking, how are we to know what these people actually believe anymore? She may not be stupid, but it is certainly dumb for a congressperson to suggest their constituents shouldn't fill out the senate at a time when Minnesota could lose a seat or two in Congress if it were undercounted. Incidentally, she ceased her anti-census rhetoric when that came to light, so maybe she isn't a dummy after all.

Ha! I don't have to prove squat to anyone on this forum, especially those who think the current changes to our nuclear policy represent some threat to our national security. You can continue to go through life thinking Palin and Bachman are not idiots. That doesn't really matter to me - unless you vote in Republican primaries!
-
So being concerned about the Census being used to round us up for FEMA concentration camps isn't proof enough? Obviously either of them could try to fix a plugged in toaster with a butter knife and that wouldn't be enough to sway you as to their lack of intellect, so I'm not going to bother trying myself.
-
I'm a registered Republican actually. But I see you are one of the folks so blinded by partisan politics, that any critique, no matter how valid, must be coming from the enemy. No wonder my party is in complete shambles. www.google.com Have fun.
-
Gladly: She has encouraged her supporters to fill out as little of the 2010 Census forms as possible, believing that the information could be used to set up FEMA concentration camps. She is "anti-socialism" and yet her family farm has reaped over a quarter million in government subsidies (OK - maybe not dumb, but it sure makes her an !@#$). Sounds like a high priced welfare queen to me. I'm not going to dig all day and put up her numerous quotes that grossly misrepresent the Constitution or how she thinks God is on America's side, I'll let you do that if you are truly interested in learning about her. But trust me they are out there. If you choose to ignore them, that's your prerogative.

Yes. I don't care if you support a position I don't agree with. You can still be an intelligent person. These two are clearly not. If you go back and read my post, you'll see that I said I had seen the quote, not watched the video, so without any reference or context it was difficult to determine if it was a metaphor or stupidity. You'll also note that I didn't completely discount either possibility, although I had a hard time believing he was that dumb. I'm certain Bachman and Palin are stupid, as I have a much larger body of their work with which I'm familiar, and therefore am able to draw a conclusion based upon mountains of evidence.
-
Maybe she meant the hot air that she emits? Then again, at her age, that still might be considered a fossil fuel. On another note, you can call it partisan sniping all you want, but Palin and Bachman are !@#$ing retarded.
-
I know of the quote to which you are referring. I don't have any particular knowledge of this guy, but I have to believe he was employing a metaphor to describe the impact on the islands economy, environment, etc. If he wasn't then there might actually be someone dumber than Palin or Bachman out there at the moment.

They've become convinced that gays are the bigger threat. That being the case, maybe we could airdrop the casts of Rent and La Cage a Faux into enemy territory.
-
First, I didn't mean to be so snotty. But basically, the deterrence was needed for countries with nukes, primarily the USSR.
-
You've missed something.
-
You know he could change his mind right? Or we could bomb the holy hell out of them using conventional weapons without irradiating everyone in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Would that make you happy? This is about as silly as when we "pointed" our nukes away from Russia, as if there wasn't someone poised to load in the coordinates at a moments notice. We can change our posture at any time. But even with such a meaningless gesture, I can't believe people are so up in arms about it. It's like we turned into a bunch of surrender monkeys with only a few thousand nuclear weapons that we will try our hardest not to use. USA = p*ssies!

Seriously - wtf? Buffalo has to be one of their biggest per capita fan bases in the states.

I think he meant the infrastructure bits like phone lines, etc. Like I mentioned earlier, if I recall correctly (and I could be mistaken) many of the mechanisms that bring connectivity to our homes were in part subsidized by public funding. -

It's called 'regulation' and we have all sorts of it in place for companies on which the public relies. As I mentioned, 'finding another' may not be an option for some people. Starting your own is probably not either. And I'm inclined to believe that when our taxes help fund things like phone lines, cable lines, and fiber optic lines that carry the signals, then yeah, we ought to get some say (mind you not all lines were subsidized by taxes but IIRC many were). edit: And I want to be clear I don't care if a company limits your bandwidth, puts on caps, etc. I'm talking specifically about limiting your abililty to access sites/servers based upon their particular interests. -

I agree with some of what you are saying, but the flip side could protect consumers could it not? What if your area only has 1 viable option for ISP? While that may be less of a concern down the road, it's very real now, at least in terms of broadband availability in some areas. Net neutrality would make sure your ISP can't block traffic from Google if it has some sweetheart deal with MS for example. -
Ended up going to Irish Carbonic on Clinton. They were open before 9. What can I say - I was thirsty!
-
Ding! I have a 5lb tank and was hoping someone might know of a welding supply place that's open on Saturday and does refill's.
-
Anyone know of a place that does CO2 refills and might be open on a Saturday?

Too funny. Actually my sister told me her part was cut, so I wasn't watching for her. I'm gonna check the DVR later to her if I can spot her.
