It's not like we drafted him in the 1st or 2nd round. We needed more depth at receiver, and might have gotten some value. It looks like he had decent college numbers and was drafted roughly where he was expected to be drafted, so it wasn't exactly a reach pick. Also, if anyone really decided to read the entirety of the information that was presented in the article, they would have seen every Olympian that ever played in the league was listed along with their NFL accomplishments. Lastly, he was offensive MVP in an NCAA bowl game, so it's not like he has zero credentials. Might be best to just wait and see if he delivers in regular season before we get our collective panties in a bunch.

This. With 2 rookie quarterbacks playing an entire game, I would have expected more false starts, delay of game penalties, and just the occasion spot of confusion and/or bewilderment. The fact that there was virtually none of the above should speak to the preparedness of the players, which in turn is certainly reflective upon the coaching staff. Well done!

D overall has me happy. No question they are better. Still a lot of young guys and with that inevitable growing pains, but they seem more aggressive and play with the attacking style as advertised.

The media making mountains out of molehills (really, 2.5 days of contract negotiations is "something with this guy"? Really?) doesn't mean there is something out of the norm with an individual. It means he is high profile and writers, journalists, whatever are latching on to every little thing. It's always "something" only because people are making something out of it. When you have a microscope up someone's ass, every pollup looks like a big deal. Accusing the guy about whom you are manufacturing drama, of being a drama queen? Brilliant.

I can't for one second believe that any instructor, professor, or institution of any type would go easy on the requirements for an athlete. It would honestly make me begin to question the entire NCAA.
