Bills fans not even in the top 10? WTF
Maybe Someday replied to Guffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Forbes obviously doesn’t know how to party!!! Mods, I’m expecting lots of warning points against these 2. Defending the Pats* or their fans* is not allowed on this site!!!! -
I was kind of surprised to see that’s not really true, they are in fact very similar. Below are Hogan’s pro day numbers (I’m assuming that he was not invited to the combine) as well as Rogers’ combine numbers. For the heck of it, I threw in Robert Woods combine numbers since he and Hogan are directly competing with each other. To my shock, Hogan outdid Rogers in a few categories and Woods in every category. Hogan is extremely raw because he has not been playing football very long but is one heck of an athlete. I don’t think anything has been given to him as someone stated up-thread. He’s worked his tail off and shown the coaches what he can do. Based on these and the chatter that Rogers was loafing while in camp with us, it sounds like keeping Hogan was a no brainer and he appears to have just as much upside if not more. Maybe there’s a reason he’s been ahead of Woods in the slot so far this camp…and I really do love Robert Woods, as my screen name attests. Just thought I’d throw some facts into all this speculation. Rogers combine numbers: 6’2” - 217 40 – 4.52 Bench Reps @ 225lbs – 10 Vertical – 39.5 Broad jump – 132” (11’) 3 cone – 7.15 20 yard shuttle – 4.06 Hogan pro day numbers 6’1” - 221 40 – 4.50 Bench Reps @ 225lbs – 28 Vertical – 36.5 Broad jump – 126” (10’06”) 3 cone – 6.75 20 yard shuttle – 4.15 Woods Combine numbers: 6’0” - 201 40 – 4.51 Bench Reps @ 225lbs – 14 Vertical – 33.5 Broad jump – 117” (9’9”) 3 cone – 7.15 20 yard shuttle – 4.47 http://www.nfldrafts...=2011&genpos=FB http://www.nfl.com/c...gers?id=2540179 http://www.nfl.com/c...oods?id=2540169

This Saturday's Tampa game prediction
Maybe Someday replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here are my predictions: The 1st team offense finally scores a TD. EJ has a solid yet unspectacular outing…a few good throws mixed in with a few misfires. About 63% completions and 5.5 YPA. Tuel is the #2 QB and gets more reps than Thad does. Dennis Dixon still doesn’t see the field unless it’s for a kneel down to run out the clock at the end. Our defense looks stout against the run but gives up a big pass play. That even if our QBs complete 99% of their passes and we score 42 points that many on this site will still complain that all of our QBs are terrible and that we should trade for Glennon…even if he plays worse than any of them. That I couldn’t care less what the final score is as long as we play well and look like we’re still improving. Well, I say that now but after a few beers I’ll probably be on my couch yelling for our soon to be busboys to stop their soon to be busboys and be disappointed if they don’t. Bills 22-Bucs19. -
Who starts oppostite Aaron Williams at safety?
Maybe Someday replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it’ll come down to Searcy or Duke. So far it looks to me like Searcy has the edge but Duke is not far behind. I think Duke is more athletic but Searcy has the upper hand due to experience/knowledge. Searcy made some big plays last season. I think Graham’s reps this week are more for situational and injury fill in purposes than consideration for starting. Meeks has been injured for too long now so I don’t think he’s got any shot at starting and may even end up on IR. If that happens and Aaron gets hurt, I think it’ll be Graham filling in at FS. I do expect to see some 3 safety looks this year as the situation calls for. Like if a team goes 2 TEs, I can see both Searcy and Duke on the field with Aaron. I wouldn’t mind seeing Graham & Aaron playing safety when a team goes 4 WRs with Robey & Brooks as the slot CBs. Isn’t it fun to actually have options!!! -
Dennis Dixon...let him run with the 2's next week!!!
Maybe Someday replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d rather those reps go to a player that may actually see the field during the regular season since it’s obvious both Thad & Tuel need all the work they can get. If Dixon hasn't shown anything in practice, why put him in a game when it means taking reps away from a guy that really needs them? I am fairly certain that we’re not bringing anyone else in unless there is a really surprising cut from another team. Gotta make the best of what we’ve got. -
Super Bowl half time acts have to pay the NFL to play
Maybe Someday replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That's what the commercials are for. I guess the ladies we hang out with just don’t care for the type of music they’ve been having. For awhile it was the past their prime geriatrics and moved to the poppy type stuff. I’m not a fan of Coldplay but I’d be ok with them…at least they’re still relevant. I guess I’d be OK with Katy Perry but that’s only because I’d be hoping for another wardrobe malfunction!!! -
Super Bowl half time acts have to pay the NFL to play
Maybe Someday replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I agree with this. No need for some over the top faux concert. I bet very few people would change the channel no matter what was going on for halftime, even if they use that time to step away from the TV for a refill or whatever else. -
I think the point is that here is a team/school made up of Native Americans and they apparently don’t find the term derogatory. You’d think that if they thought it was offensive, they would change it, which would be fairly easy for them to do. Do I find the name offensive, overall I would say yes but not enough to rally for the team to change their name…but I’m a white guy so it’s not personal to me. I do believe that whether or not the Washington team decides to change their nickname should be up to them. I’m trying to remember who the 1st person to say they needed to change their name. Wasn’t it a white politician? Something about this issue that really does bother me is that some members of congress are involved now. They have bigger issues to deal with than the name of an NFL team. Overall, I’m kind of torn on the issue. On one hand, we shouldn’t intentionally do/say something that offends part of our population. On the other hand, if the team is forced to change their name, where does it end? There are quite a few teams that have a nickname that can be construed as offensive. An extreme example I’ll give here is The Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Why do the Irish have to be depicted as fighting? That’s a negative stereotype. Like I said, I know that’s an extreme example but someone could find that to be offensive so does that mean they have to change too?

Red Zone (not the channel)
Maybe Someday replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree with this. We've been stuffed on short yardage plays quite a few times so far this PS. I also hate the shotgun handoff on 3rd and 1. Why not put load up on the beef and blast away. Also, will someone please tell Dixon to stop jumping for the goal line. Keep your feet on the ground and drive it in there. Once you jump, your momentum stops. Plus reaching the ball out there like he did on the TD this past weekend may get him at some point. I agree on this as well. Even if it’s not necessarily red zone game planning for the PS but you’d think we’d at least have more short yardage plays in the rotation. I do like him but Chandler came up small on that 4th and goal. Can’t put that one on the coaches, he’s got to catch that ball. -
The game will be shown live on the NFL network for those of us outside of Buffalo!!!

A quickie: RT vs. LT--Can Henderson Move?
Maybe Someday replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Move him to DE. He had a nice strip sack of Tuel to end the game. -
Is Sammy's Hair Too Long??
Maybe Someday replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As of right now, no it's not. The 1st time he gets tackled by it, then it will be to long. Speaking of long hair, who is the DB that has hair so long you can't even see what number he is? I think he came in with the 2nd team in each preseason game so far. My best guess is it was #39 but I seriously couldn't tell. -
EJ Staring Down Receivers/Looking Off Defenders
Maybe Someday replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good read, thanks for posting. Good examples to show that maybe EJ’s eyes are quite as slow as some like to claim. -
Training camp - Pittsburgh style
Maybe Someday replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m sure the players are thrilled that they have to bus for an hour to practice and back each day. Are there no hotels near Latrobe or was this just poor planning? Anheuser-Busch bought Rolling Rock but it is brewed in their Newark, New Jersey facility, not St. Louis. -
If I could change 1 thing about E J
Maybe Someday replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously??? This is the 1 thing you would change?? How about changing his anticipation? He's wearing the exact same facemask as he did last year but has added a clear visor. So there are no extra bars blocking his vision. Maybe he got poked in the eye at one point and wants to protect against that. Cam Newton also wore a clear visor all of last season, possibly for his whole career. Come on man!!! I believe you only need the medical waiver to wear a tinted visor, not a clear one. Stevie wore a clear one for parts of his time in Buffalo as well. -
If he's found guilty of assault or property damage, it'll be a game or 2...unless he had some pot on him, then it'll be a year.

ESPN- Spiller could be traded soon
Maybe Someday replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who was this analyst? When talking about something said on ESPN it really makes a difference. If it was John Clayton, then maybe there’s something to it. If it was someone like Mark Schlereth or Herm Edwards, then there’s probably not. Those guys just like to hear their own voice. A lot of those guys make a bunch of off the wall predictions this time of year so when/if one comes true, they can say I told you so. Either way, it just wouldn’t make sense to trade him unless a team blew us away with an offer. Despite the belief of some, he didn’t do all that bad last year, especially considering he had a bum ankle for a good portion of the season. 933 yards at 4.6 ypc plus another 185 yards receiving on 33 catches ain’t too shabby when splitting carries 50/50 with another RB. I know he missed a bunch of holes/cutback lanes early in the season but as the season wore on; he seemed to get more comfortable. I want to see what he can do in the 2nd year with this blocking scheme and certainly don’t want to ship him off for any less than a 1st (which we won’t get for him unless the owner is drunk…looking at you Irsay & Jerry) or maybe a 2nd plus another pick. We kept 5 backs last season (including the 2 FBs) so I don’t see why we can’t/won’t do it again this season. -
As I’ve said in other posts, you have no idea if that is true at this point…none of us do. With that kind of rationale, you would have also given up on QBs like John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach just to name a few…and probably would have thought that Rick Mirer was the answer. I’m not saying I think EJ will end up like them, just that at this point in his career, none of us know whether he is the answer or not. Don’t be so quick to pass judgment before all the facts are in. Rule of thumb is it takes about 30 games to know if an NFL QB can hack it or not. We’re only a 1/3 of the way there. By the end of this season, we’ll have a much better idea. Back to the OP, I agree. Hopefully we win some games and show we’re trending upwards because I like what Whaley has been doing in building this team. The jury is still out on Marrone & staff but I’m staying optimistic.

Jerruh gets his freak on
Maybe Someday replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can Jerry really be dumb enough to pose for those photos?!?!?!?!? If they're real, he must not care about his wife at all. -
Tavern on the Tracks (Charlotte NC)
Maybe Someday replied to NCDAWG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Put me down as a maybe. It all depends on if I can get my wife to go. We’re definitely going to the game but she’s 7 months pregnant so not sure if she’ll be up for the Tavern beforehand or not. If you see a pregnant lady in a Kelly jersey, I’ll be the guy next to her…probably trying to find her a place to sit down. -
This board never ceases to amaze me. The fact of the matter is we have no idea how good or bad either Tuel or EJ will end up being for another year or 2 at the very least. Just about every rookie struggles but so many of you expect our guy to be the exception to the rule and when he’s not want to run him out of town. Even some of the all time greats like Bradshaw, Staubach & Elway sucked it up their 1st year in the league. I’m sure if I took the time I could find more examples. EJ & Tuel are both young and pretty raw. We need to give them some time and have some patience. Maybe they develop, maybe they don’t. Finalizing a decision on either of them now is pointless.

CJ Spiller contract (Jamaal charles deal)
Maybe Someday replied to switz1610's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CJ has terrible vision, meaning he has a hard time seeing the holes. He’s struggled with it for a good chunk of his career. After some time in Chan’s blocking scheme, he got better and produced like the stud we all hoped that he would be. Last season was a new blocking scheme and he again struggled leaving a lot of yards on the field with many missed cutbacks. He still tries to outrun everyone to the sideline like he did at Clemson. This being his 2nd year in with the scheme, maybe he’ll start to get comfortable again and get back to his 2012 form. Put me on the side that doesn’t think CJ will get enough carries to put up 1200 rushing yards this season, unless someone else gets injured. Maybe he comes in and plays so well that the coaches are almost forced to give him the ball, keeping Brown on the bench. Maybe Brown has a few early fumbles and ends up in the dog house (fumbles are why Philly was willing to trade him for a mid round pick). Maybe Fred will finally hit that wall…please not that!!!! There are too many variables. Anyway you look at it, none of us know how this staff really feels about CJ. They may love him, they may have no desire to resign him at all. This season could change their opinion one way or the other. The one positive is that with the depth we currently have, we should finally have some leverage once the contract negotiations begin instead of having our backs to the wall like so many times in the past.
