Unfortunately, without icing calls though, you'd see teams with a narrow lead in the 3rd playing "power play" style: intentionally icing whenever they received the puck in their zone...can lead to pretty boring play. Seems like the extra "penalty" is doing the trick...

Definition hasn't changed, but my understanding is that with the two line pass the refs are calling more "bad passes" (no ice) versus "icing attempts." But it's probably more due to teams trying harder not to ice because of their inability to change for the ensuing face-off.

Summary of rule changes, major and minor (rules not mentioned above include goalie pad size, rink dimensions, and OT during the regular season) here.

...and again, my point was that my understanding was that up until recently (and maybe even now, I think they reserved some), if you paid 100% for seasons you get guaranteed playoff tickets. Still full price, but you'd get them. Get two seasons, buy 4 (or whatever the max) playoff tickets for each game, sell the extras on eBay, and you could end up with seasons for free (depending in part on how many games), just for jumping on the bandwagon at this point. Though if it's only one game you want to go to then yeah, you are screwed...
