Interesting observations from the Indy Game
Dan Gross replied to Fan in San Diego's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, duh! He said that Jennings didn't give up any sacks! Is that not a true statement? If he gave up a sack while sitting on the bench, then I'd be worried! That's what really gets me frustrated. People who come in after every game and go after the general negatives...like they didn't even watch the game. No matter how each player plays, you're going to see Mondays full of: Mike Williams is a big fat slob who couldn't block my grandmother and gives up 70 sacks per game. Bledsoe is a statue who can't avoid the rush, spends too much time staring down Moulds and is to blame for the other 70 sacks per game. Vincent has lost a step and was getting burned on every play. Clements spends too much time show-boating and got burned on every play. McGahee was hopping around the field on one foot because he is afraid of planting on the reconstructed knee. Brown/Losman/Zolman was holding the clipboard upside-down. etc... It's like they copy and paste the same thing every Monday. I guess it's too easy to believe that a player who does things poorly in the past will continue doing them.... -
Now That I Watched The Game Twice, A Review
Dan Gross replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one thing that seemed to stand out early to me was that the defense appeared to be over-pursuing the play. They seemed to be very aggresive in the play-calling, and had good penetration to the backfield, but deep in the backfield (where the quarterback would be on a pass play, but behind the running back...). It almost seemed like they expected the Colts to come out passing, and thus got burnt by the run plays. Even then, the first string D was strong overall. Look at the drive charts from the first half. Indy had only one drive (out of 7) that went for more than 20 yards (technically, as the Clements fumble starts a second drive...). Twice the Indy offense were given the ball in our red zone, and both times they had to settles for FG's...How often does that happen to Peyton and Co.? In the end, they never converted on 3rd down. And the offense? I think Mark summed it up pretty well. With how ineffective Willis was early, I was actually getting frustrated with how much they kept to the run, as well as their insistence on keeping inside the tackles with it. I believe that Travis would have been much more effective Once again we end a game with as many run plays as pass, even though we trailed by more than a score through most of the game. You know last year we would have come out throwing once we were down 10-0 (if we weren't throwing before then...). Moulds was interviewed after the starters came out, and the first question they asked was if he was concerned about the offense not scoring. He said the "right" answer, to the effect of "we didn't do any game-planning and we didn't use a majority of the play book," and that he wasn't overtly concerned. Am I concerned moving forward, all things considered? Yes. Am I encouraged by seeing things getting done better this year than last? Definitely. Bottom line: can't wait to get through the next garbage game and get to the 12th! -
Welcome to the new server you IGMO's...

Come on...let's test the load. Someone start a thread talking about how Losman demands to be traded if he isn't starting after he recovers from his broken leg....that ought to do it! and I thought Jay Rosen was banned...I haven't seen him post since the software change.... -
Their's the point I was trying too make. Looks like the transition from the old bored too the knew won wasn't to seemless. Even forgot the (OT).

The voice in my head wondering how long I'll have to read this homonym error....judging from the "parent" thread of this from the "old wall," it will be a looong time....
-
If you read its other post it's clear that we are not going to beat anyone this year (yet still have potential to make the playoffs). So we may as well look to next year...
-
Actually when you use a subordinating conjunction like "when" there is no need for a comma. Therefore, it is kind of like adding a comma where it needn't be.

You obviously haven't been reading the same Wall I have. Everyone I read here thinks we're .... well, you know....or maybe you don't. Starts with "D" and rhymes with exhumed. Here's what I don't understand. Most here feel we have a chance of making the playoffs as a wildcard team because we feel we can (and have to) beat teams like Jax, Oakland, NYJ. If we can't beat those teams, what teams do you think we will beat in order to, in your word, "an early wild card team probably at best?" (there's a genius phrase for you...you're a real Norman Einstein aren't you?) I mean, geez, yes, any given Sunday, that's why they play the games, but I still can't see how we'd stand a chance of making the playoffs if we go 0-16.....

Could this be the response when the process' PID "directory" is wiped? I know in Solaris at least, all PID info is "saved" in a directory....It's difficult to pinpoint because everything in a *nix system is represented by a file these days.... -
They say Kentucky in that episode. Flame War over that can be found here: http://www.snpp.com/episodes/BABF19

Sorry....knew a Dan Florio at college.
-
Just don't do it at a Federal facility...you could get arrested. Scott, are you planning on doing the "load testing" the way you normally do? You know, calling Mike Florio and saying you're an "inside source for the Bills" and tell him the team's about to make a big trade...? EDIT: name fixed, per Rico's request.

Yeah, I'm glad we banned him. I think he's launching DOS attacks on the board in retribution for being banned though.... -
Put this together with the fact that Phillips departure was predicated by Ralph insisting that he fire an assistant and I wonder if ended up with Williams in part because "quality" coaches were looking at the Bills as being a team that micro-managed its coaches and over-ruled their decisions (and thus not answering the calls or turning down the job...).

Of course you have to 'cd /' first b Heh, that's the game we call "reflex." (How fast can you hit Ctrl-C?) I've known people who have purposefully "decommisioned" a machine using that method...sit and watch...and wait 'til it crashes. -
Ummmmmm, based on the topic.....doesn't it already have one?

I have turned the board back on temporarily

Except for the application being discussed here: the Internet. There are still more Unix-based servers than NT based ones...At least, last I knew. Gap is shrinking, but it's the one area where Windows is in the minority. -
and c.) it won't work for long, if at all.

Normally that statement evokes a lot of but the story makes perfect sense. Especially when you add that to the understanding that Donahoe didn't want Williams to hire Gilbride in the first place. And then you add to that the fact that his new coach is someone who sees more "eye to eye" with him....Perfectly believable.

None of those names is an easy change to my official "Choo Choo" Coleman jersey.
-
You forgot 4. They make pot smoking legal. Do you think maybe he wants to bring Ditka in as the new head coach?

Makes some things that we've noticed "official." Some interesting tweaks in there...I know it's still the pre-season, but hey.... Things to note: Smith is #1 LG Tucker is #2 C (not on LG depth chart...) Kelsay is #1 LDE PP is #3 SS and FS (Mark Graham is behind him at SS, but otherwise he is clearly looking like the odd man out). Gildon is #3 LDE/SSLB http://www.buffalobills.com/team/depthchart.jsp
