I'm referring to the distinguished football insider Mike Florio at http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Don't know who you are referring to...
-
I read on Pro Football Talk that if the Bills aren't ahead at halftime, the whole coaching staff will be fired.

It was nice to see the starting O-Line perform together, and they were at least adequate. Starting D was run all over (again), but it's tough to tell how much the front four (especially the interior two) have been dogging it because of pre-season (due to last year's results). McGahee looked serviceable (a #2 back), and Shaud Williams may have earned himself a spot on the roster. Drew had a good outing, Matthews looked great for someone who had been on the team 72 hours (certainly looked more prepared than BJ Hobert ). Evans finally had a catch for positive yardage. Still way too many penalties, but wasn't paying enough attention to see how much of them were "ticky-tack." Some really bad ones though (offsides by Pat Williams on short yardage, Smith caught pulling early (I think that's where many of Ruben's false starts came from), the "surprise offside" kick to start the 2nd half that was called back because a player was offside). 34-78-83 (I remember his because it was the latest) and others had decent breakdowns.

[OT] LCD TVs...looking for some advice
Dan Gross replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This: http://www.digiupdate.com/100_Selecting_HD_Display.html is a great summary of the technologies. Showing pros and cons. The other "issues" people have had with LCDs have been color contrast (due to the nature of LCD, you can't get a "true" black), "lost" pixels and what I'll call "streaking". LCD panels (which is what I think you are looking at) generally have a low refresh rate, which means that fast-moving stuff on the screen will leave "streaks." I'm sure this is more prevalent on the cheaper models. If you look at plasma, pay attention to the MTHB (mean time to half-brightness), that is the number of hours of viewing before the image on the screen is half as bright as when you bought it (the point at which you would likely be replacing it). That is primarily the difference between the cheap plasmas and the more expensive ones. Today would be a good day to check the TV's out, as you can throw on the college games and see if you like what they have to offer. Some people have complained about watching football in particular, as, according to them, the green of the field is too bright and you get the "streaking." Of course, if you have hours to burn, you can go to the forums at http://www.avsforum.com/ Discussions around the variety of displays are here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?forumid=9 If you're going big enough to do rear projection LCD, people swear by the Sony Grand Vega. -

Is Stuart Scott's eye getting worse?

Did you see him at meetings? -
Are your speechwriters working on something for the crowd there? "A garbage plate in every home...."?
-
I hear Rob Johnson's available... I just noticed that he wore #7 with the Raiders...I wonder what was behind that number selection? So maybe, in 2005, after Brady gets injured and Flutie leads you to another Super Bowl, you'll trade Brady to the Bills.

Is TH 100% again? What is his exact condition?

I bruised my sternum in an auto accident several years ago and to this day, if I make a certain movement (like if I drop something and bring my hands together quickly to try to catch it), I feel it for a second...rib injuries are not fun, and you learn really quick that most motions you make flex or compress your chest... -

So you guys got on the field....what was your 40 times? Or did you just stick to the 12 ouncers...? Oh, and I doubt that "water" is responsible for these manly physiques: http://community.webshots.com/photo/182295...182297462WyFcIH -

You've got it!

Friends don't let friends Nunchaku drunk.

I know you're excited and all, but I'd wait a couple of weeks before investing that kind of cash in an authentic Lauvale Sape jersey...

Now if only we can get them to play 1 down together before the season starts!

Milloy out a WHILE...maybe the season
Dan Gross replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also made it clear right up front that it is not a season-ending injury. -
Wait, I thought it was absolutely stone-cold-lock guaranteed that he tore his ACL, and the MRI was to check for other damage???

Travis, if you're going to quote Spinal Tap, do it right! The line is: "Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation. "

Wow...Jerry Sullivan very harsh on Bills
Dan Gross replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Wow...Jerry Sullivan very harsh on Bills" That's kinda like "Wow....someone died today!" or "Wow....I still have to pay taxes!" -
When Tasker is working for CBS, it's as a color man. He's much more comfortable (and better suited for) that role, as most former players and coaches are. Leave the play-by-play to the "lifer" sportscasters.

Interesting observations from the Indy Game

So you are saying that if one sits on the other's shoulders, they'd be tall enough and still not slower than McGahee? -
Mularkey Talked The Talk, Now Back It Up
Dan Gross replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, the first string had one 3rd and 3 scenario...pass play...sack. We ran on the other "short" scenario (3rd and 4), all others were 6 yards or better. That was part of the problem with moving it, is we were stuck with a lot of 3rd and 10+. Mark, in the pre-season they've have been keeping to your "prescription," to the point of frustration watching it at times. I think others have said it best in that we can't let defenses predict whether we are running or passing based on the personnel we have in. I actually end up feeling sorry for the receivers who have been trying to make the team, since we're not putting it up in the air enough for them to show what they can do. Though I like the way they interspersed starters/2nd stringers in the beginning of the 3rd Q.
