  2. Man, after hearing Schobel's fired-up talk I'm pumped! Wish I had those couple of minutes back, but the Coach's corner was pretty cool.
  3. Ummmm, I guess you didn't see what happened to the Dolphins when they put the "kid" in, and he has actually played before....it can get worse.
  4. Just don't come back here looking for the answers!
  5. Yeah, you've got a real pretty mouth on you there, Steve. I'd best be careful 'bout whatchew say 'round us backwoods morons!
  6. Yeah, it's nice that I can pause live TV while I go out to the outhouse. Well worth the two extra squirrels I need to power it!

  8. A vote for Nader is a vote for the W, that's why Republicans are funding him....oops, don't want to politicize this "TV-viewing demographics" thread....nevermind....
  9. Woohoo! Spearing Contest!!! How long 'til this thread gets zapped? I'm recording the debate on my TIVO, what does that make me?
  10. As an old friend of mine was fond of saying: "There's no such thing as a hug without a smile attached to it."
  11. Y'all should try this: http://www.finalwipe.com/Page.asp?Script=1 Invented by a Rochesterian....
  12. Then there's the dyslexic agnostic who won't post in Eric in Va's thread....
  13. Yeah, about that: have you let him off the meat hook yet? Just wondering....ooops, this was supposed to be the happy thoughts thread!
  14. WRT Gus, no update on his condition (update page is blank), but there's a new (to me, anyway) picture of the future Bills all-pro up on "his" site: http://home.earthlink.net/~gioiabeast/index.html Whatta smile...go Gus!
  15. Oh, believe me, you and your enchanted mountains have already helped a ton. Between you, Aussie and the other Bills babes I need a medical plan with better eye coverage!
  16. I take it there were no good butts to look at, so you had to lower yourself to paying some attention to the X/O talk? Nice report, Cindy.
  17. Now you've done it....here come all the blind guys (and you can imagine what made them blind )!
  18. When we got our sub-woofer, the first thing we did was throw JP in and FF to the footstep scene...when they hear it coming
  19. I don't see why anyone has any right to disagree with him, and you're a stupid igmo for even thinking so!!!! After all, we are the only 0-2 team in the league. All the other teams that have had byes so far have at least one win.
  20. That's why I said "There's more to it than picking the 'best available player.'" Even though I gave the thread a "Rudy-type" subject, I agree with Polian's and Marv's rationale...But it's just funny to think that, after all the QB woes we've had since Kelly's departure, we actually considered Favre...not that it would have worked, but that we could have had him. I like how he called out Talley as one of the "partiers."
  21. I singled him out because he admitted to scouting Favre, recognizing his talent, and considered drafting him. Oh, yeah, and because the story is Bills-related. Chill out.
  22. Nick, you fuggin' mother-mauckin' igmo. It's your fault! Things didn't start getting like this until FAT disappeared! Now, to play the "positive game:" Whose ass are we praying for today? Kumbaya....and go Gus!
  23. There's more to it than picking the "best available player." in the Tuesday edition of MMQB. I [King] asked him [Polian]: "When you're rooting so hard for your team, can you really watch the game and appreciate not only your own guy but Favre?" "Oh, I do. I realize what I'm seeing. You can't help but marvel at the skills he has. He and Peyton and a game like that are what make this game so great. Funny story. When Brett was in college at Southern Miss, I was with the Bills, and I scouted him one day at Georgia, between the hedges. He'd had that intestinal issue (Favre had two feet of his intestine removed after a bad car accident as a Southern Miss junior), but now he was back playing, and he was fantastic in that game. I don't remember who won, but I remember thinking what a great player Favre was going to be. So the next day, I'm at our game, and Mr. [bills owner Ralph] Wilson asked me who I'd scouted yesterday. I told him, 'Mr. Wilson, I saw the next Jim Kelly.' He said, 'Get outta here! What's his name?' I told him. And that year, we had a chance to get him in the draft, picking late in the first round. We'd just signed Jim to a long contract, so there was no chance we'd take him. I remember Marv Levy saying, 'Brett would just wither on the vine here.'" I told him, "Favre needed to play. He was a party animal, and he might have partied himself out of the league in Buffalo with Darryl Talley and some of those other guys. After his first year in Atlanta, if he hadn't gotten traded to Green Bay and was just left to be a backup with the Falcons, who knows if he'd ever have become a great player?"
  24. ...and here are TD's answers: Richard Arnold (Stratford, Ontario): Seems some circles are criticizing you for not improving the O-line, yet quality players still want to come to Buffalo (i.e. Vincent). Do you and they know something the average fan does not? Are the lines, especially the quality acquisitions on the O-line, the next big piece of the puzzle that falls into place to make this team competitive? Tom Donahoe: You dare to question my brilliance?! You ungrateful putz! I bring in the best UDFA left guard that league minimum can by, and you have the nerve to say I have not improved it?! Moron. Susan (Hamburg, NY): With many fans complaining about the offense, tell me what has made the defense so successful the past year and two games. TD: Because I brought in all but one of the players. They are mine, I tell you, mine! Jim (Orchard Park, NY): How is Losman recovering and when may he return to practice? TD: JP is proceeding ahead of schedule....*snap*....oops, well, it looks like that's not true, and he won't be available for the rest of the year. But don't worry, we have Bledsoe! He does no wrong! Edward Elley (Charlotte, NC): Is there any way that the Bills can request that those officials who worked the Bills/Oakland game not be permitted to officiate another Bills game? TD: Officials don't win or lose games. They do a great job. They make mistakes in games like we all do but the officiating is in good hands with the league office and we really have no control over the crews we receive. Did I write that correctly commish? Because I don't want to be paying those stupid fines because your stupid refs screw us over game after game. Thomas Gaygen (Lockport, NY): Why wasn't anything done to improve the offensive line in the off-season? (A real center would have been nice, moving Teague elsewhere on the O-line). TD: Didn't you read the answer to the first question, you ingrate?! Besides, we have McNally! See, ain't I smart? Williams Rule (High Falls, NY): Despite picking up two skill position players in the first round of the last two drafts, why hasn't there been a talented offensive lineman drafted? The skill positions can't make anything happen if the offensive line is lying on their backs. Average talent in the skill positions is made better by excellent line play. TD: What is it with this "O-line this" and "O-line" that crap?! I drafted an O-lineman back in 2002 in the first round, and look where that got us! Er, I mean, we have excellent players all around. I know that because I picked them myself! Donnie (Buffalo, NY): I am a huge fan and I am not here to complain, but I do have a question. It is obvious to anyone and everyone we have probably the best defense in the league or top 2, we have had the exact same problems with the offense for the last 10-12 games and may I add we have some good weapons…are you keeping Drew in there because of his reputation hoping he will come around or do we not want to explore options so we can win? I love Drew but in our situation he is not the guy. It is time to win not excuse close losses. TD: blah blah blah blah "Drew's not the guy." Geez, where'd you pick these questions from? I saw him throwing frozen ropes in 80 MPH winds in 20 degree temperatures, of course he's the guy! Philip Sullivan (Hamburg, NY): Would you agree that most NFL "football people" (including yourself) have no clue regarding how to evaluate quarterbacks? "Football people" look at arm strength, height, throwing motion, etc. (Bledsoe, Rob Johnson, Todd Collins, Ryan Leaf) when what really counts is mobility and instantaneous decision making (Brady, Pennington, Montana, Flutie, Garcia). Am I right or wrong? TD: Yeah, I'd agree to most, but not to the "yourself" part. I'm Tom Donahoe, dammit! WRONG! Adam Wilsman (Clarence, NY): I was just curious, how do you approach the negativity of the local media? Since the season began, the local media have said a great deal negative about the work that you and Coach Mularkey have done. To what degree do you pay attention to what is said? Do you read the paper and use it as motivation? Or d you simply try and ignore it all? TD: I don't read that crap, and I've been trying to get Sullivan's and Felser's credentials pulled since I got here. Ole Whitey my ass! Whiney losers, all of them! Craig Feinberg (Buffalo, NY): Mr. Donahoe, how do you justify your performance as GM when you have spent two first-round picks in 4 years on a QB, already misfired on one coaching staff, misjudged a No. 4 overall draft choice. Selected only 1-Pro Bowler in 4 years, and have a 17-33 record as the Bills GM? TD: Wow, no one ever put it that way. Maybe I will walk up the hall to old Ralphie's office and offer him up my resignation right now......YEAH, RIGHT! Insolent jerk!
