  1. He won with it last week...
  2. my...how touching, brings a tear to the eye....
  3. They would have if they were facing the Browns the week before, wouldn't you agree? Seriously, I've seen some of the Bills "fans" over there and if you look you'll see most here frown on going to other teams' boards to "talk smack," because we don't like it when the "smack-talkers" come here. If you're capable of intelligent football discussions, where you think the matchups are, etc, you are welcome here. Otherwise, take the "Muffalo Sux" act elsewhere.
  4. Just make sure whatever you sent is addressed to specific troops...unsolicited packages are not accepted: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1302314/posts
  5. sonuvagun, you're right. Did I say first? I meant one of the first. They paid $1.5M as well...
  6. Go away, Steelers Troll. We don't play you for two more weeks. Must be a touchy subject in the R. Rich household...
  7. As long as it's of the biometric variety, as opposed to the RFID. It would also prevent an assailant from turning your own gun against you.
  8. Of course they do need to negotiate their way around the "Rooney Rule" first.... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=1948355 It's not a lock...
  9. May as well just lock this thread...
  10. Do they have special sled dog parking areas, or do they intermingle with the snowmobiles?
  11. Yup, and it was the first... The first corporate naming rights agreement of the modern era was completed in 1973 (Friedman, 1997). This was a sponsorship agreement between the County of Erie, NY and Rich Products Corporation, for the then new home of the Buffalo Bills. The Rich Corporation agreed to pay $1.5 million over 25 years to have the stadium named Rich Stadium. Apparently the first existing stadium to be renamed for $$$ didn't happen until 1987. That's a great tool you have there GG. http://www.ausport.gov.au/fulltext/1998/cj...rthyirwin23.htm
  12. I tried going to Wal-Mart but the greeter told me to come back after the holidays when it was less busy.
  13. Does that mean the number of sacks was reduced too?
  14. Steve, just for larks, I had done something similar to you. I did a GG search on accidental shooting burglary. This is one of the first things that came up. I suggest you read it. It's clear what the author's bias is, and I don't agree with a lot of the editorializing, but many stats in there stand out, bias considered.... http://www.haciendapub.com/edcor12.html
  15. I think you're giving them too much credit by saying "educated." The rest I agree with.
  16. As I mentioned in my previous response, All those kinds of stats are right here: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6359/situational You can also click on "split stats" to see a variety of other types of stats related to game conditions (field type, home, away, conference/division, etc).
  17. Yankee Candle wouldn't pony up the $$$$ for naming rights. Monster Cable did. Wasn't Ralph among the first to seel naming rights to a stadium?
  18. I believe "E" is his nickname with team-mates. Not "E. Moulds," just "E." Drew's called him that a couple times in PC's. Announcers using it was just one of those silly ploys to "be tha playa."
  19. It's too bad that even "stat heavy" sites don't carry "Yards After Contact" stats, as it feels like McGahee excels over Henry in that area, but I'm interested in seeing it. Henry at his best was good at YAC when it came to carrying people and falling forward. McGahee seems to have a way to "power through" a pile to its end point and to shed tackles. Anyway, to the first down stats, McGahee is averaging 4.3 YPC on 1st down, while Henry was 3.1 this year, 3.6 last year, and over his career is 3.8. McGahee gets progressively fewer yards on 2nd and 3rd down, while Travis gets progressively higher yards. (yahoo has those stats, plus many other situationals...) Another stat that I'd like to see is number of runs over 10 yards. Just looking at the "longest run" stats in the game logs, he has yet to have a game where his longest run is under 10 yards, and in 5 games his longest run is 20 or greater. Henry last year had three games where his longest run was under 10 yards, and had 4 games in which his longest run was 20 or greater. Just to get a breakdown of number of - yard plays, 0-5 yard plays, 5-10 yard plays, etc would be interesting to see... Another thing (besides blitz pickup) that just doesn't show up on the stats is "field vision." He has the patience to wait for the play to develop before him and he does show some ability to find a "plan B" on the fly. Of course improvisation can hurt as well, but he seems to find success more often than not.
  20. He was on with Howard and Jeremy this morning. He had picked Jax earlier in the week to go to the playoffs. Howard jabbed him about it, and he basically said that he doesn't think anyone will win out. He did repeat a lot of the things in Rudy's post though, and basically said with the Bills playing the way they are now they'd stand a good chance in the playoffs if they made it. He also said that if he had the Bills' D he could win the Super Bowl "tomorrow." He's really high on the Bills, and his talk with TKO made him more so, but he's playing the odds in his prediction (that the Bills won't win 7 in a row total to make the playoffs...).
  21. I thought only Sunday/Monday games counted in the pool? Doesn't matter...I'll do them today, which is my usual schedule...
  22. I really think Bettman needs to take a stand and say there will be hockey this season. Outline the terms and say whoever wants to accept them, step forward. I don't know if the NHL can survive a whole year off. He's already attempted to put a wedge between the "haves" and "have nots" in the union with the latest offer (35% reduction in salary for top 8% of players, 0% for bottom 92%, IIRC). The "have nots" already have to be looking at the "haves" with disdain, as the "haves" are the ones who are playing pro hockey right now in Europe (at the expense of other players, BTW....not exactly a union-type move), while the "have nots" are finding ways to keep occupied and make money. Though the minor leagues would suffer somewhat for it, the NHL stands to do better than the NFL at using replacement players because they do have a farm system with players that are being developed. I think they could do well enough at it to convince the NHLPA to bargain on terms that work to benefit the business of hockey.
  23. I guess it's a good thing we didn't fire him when you wanted to then, eh?
  24. Not many men can brag that they have 120 in the bedroom.
