Remember that pre-season==no game-planning. You game-plan on the fly, which has shown in most of the games this year (1st drive == long TD drive given up by Defense, 2+ drive == not much else...). Further, it seems they are also using the pre-season to "try things." More on offense I think, but Losman seemed to start the 2nd half throwing a lot more than we will likely see come game 1. Plenty of room for skepticism, but room for hope as well. First 3 games can determine the season (when's the last time we started the season with a run on the entire division?). Same goes with the offense. I think the line can do decent if they get a chance to gel, and if Losman can hit a deep strike or two every game that will lighten the pressure...Get more discipline and better coaching and the TD doesn't get erased by a procedural and their FG miss would stand because we only had 11 out there...Then you also have players "trying too hard" to make the team/move up the depth chart... Still would like to see a 11+ play drive out of the offense, but I just feel it will come together....Of course I've felt that and been plenty wrong before, but that's okay.

Name 1 person in that stadium that wanted that game to go into Overtime other than maybe a couple of bubble players trying to get noticed (in a way other than that 12th guy on the FG attempt ). The coaches worried about players getting injured in pre-season? No. The players worried about getting injured in pre-season? No. The refs? No. The X,000 parents in their stands trying to settle down their over-tired kids long enough for the game to end so they can see the fireworks? No. Think that had anything to do with it?

Yeah, Shelton had two of them. And the pass to Royal in the end zone was catchable, though I wouldn't call that a drop. But Losman had a couple poor throws that the receivers caught, so I guess it evens out. Don't get me wrong, this was more or less the kind of performance I was looking for out of Losman. He's clearly the #1 QB on this team, FWIW...

Other than the 13 points we gave up (TD nullified by penalty and 10 points off turnovers), yeah, the offense did look good. Offense was sloppy but showed me what it could do. I mean, on top of the false starts, two procedurals and a delay of game? But when we weren't hurting ourselves we did okay. I would still like to see 1 11+ play drive out of Losman....I like the long strikes and yeah the "chunk" plays are what we are hoping to see, but I'd just like to see a nice long drive out of the offense before the season starts... Special teams gets partial credit for 3 of those points off turnovers. 1st string defense did hold their offense to 7 points. Seemed to adjust all right after the first TD (-1 yards of offense on the next three possessions...). Looks like Coy might have got burnt on that first TD...yawn.

You know, I decided to take a look at the three QB's mentioned, and I was surprised to find that, while Palmer's and Delhomme's completions percentages are pretty equal from 1st-3rd down, Brady's is about 10% less on 3rd than 1st or 2nd. His QB rating is 10-15 points lower too (I guess that has to do with 34.4% of his INTS coming on 3rd and 25% of his TD's). Doesn't mean much, it's all just stats, just found it interesting...pretty consistently over his career as well...
