  1. Interesting... Answered one of my questions. Topography and AM signals. "The top three markets for AM are all cities on the Great Lakes. And Westwood One’s analysis of the new data shows markets with the largest proportion of AM listeners tend to be from the upper Midwest. In addition, regions with hilly terrain, such as San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento, have traditionally been big AM markets due to the challenges their topography causes for FM signals." The Niagara Escarpment plays a role around the Great Lakes helping AM signal as well as hilly terrain around Bay Area impedes FM signal.
  2. Who you kidding? We couldn't have possibly come in at #2. We don't know much about geography, don't know much trigonometry, don't know much about algebra and most certainly don't know what a slide rule is for! 😉😜
  3. As you know... I work for the USACE. 😏... #1 cause of injury leading to death in the organization is falling a tree. Yeah... You'd have thought it would have been a strained finger from intense sudoku playing or a terrorist IED while building a hospital or landing strip in Afghanistan... But NOPE, it's tree cutting.
  4. Holy moly! All my well wishes and prayers for a full recovery!
  5. Situational awareness is a must in all facets of life.
  6. Chicago is NOT just deep dish or stuffed. Chicago pizza is predominantly cracker crust cut "tavern style."
  7. With the Santa Ana's... Isn't there a psychological effect too? People get a squirrelly? https://la.curbed.com/2016/4/6/11350250/santa-ana-wind-weather-health Makes people all crazy: "There was a desert wind blowing that night. It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands’ necks. Anything can happen. You can even get a full glass of beer at a cocktail lounge."
  8. "...Another Mikey took a knife While arguing in traffic Flipper died a natural death He caught a nasty virus Then there was the ever-present Football player rapist They were all in love with dyin' They were doing it in Texas Pauly caught a bullet But it only hit his leg Well it should have been a better shot And got him in the head They were all in love with dyin' They were drinking from a fountain That was pouring like an avalanche Coming down the mountain..."
  9. Myth. What about "semi-retired?" Not sure about that! I get lots of boaters/fishermen crying that they "gotta get through" because they "gotta get to work." 😬 Alot of people do work shifts...
  10. Lock & Dam Operator. Yup... My 72 year old neighbor does that! Ex-machinist... Now he delivers dental stuff and what not! Anyway... How about a lock & dam operator:
  11. My Italian MiL adds sugar to her sauce. I am not crazy for it but pretend to love it. Wife taught me how to pull that off! She actually dislikes it more than me... lol...
  12. You're right! Outside Cuba, NY in Arkport, NY... HeluvaGood: "On April 19, 2015, HP Hood confirmed that both the cheese packaging plant in Sodus and the Heluva Good! Country Store in Wallington would be closing on June 26, 2015. Warehouse and delivery operations would continue through the end of July. Heluva Good! cheese products are currently manufactured by Schreiber Foods, Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Packaging operations would be moved there. Heluva Good! chip dips and condiments will still be manufactured and packaged at a facility in Arkport, New York which is owned and operated by HP Hood.[5] Some New York State consumers have already complained about the change as a result of Heluva Good! cheese products no longer being produced locally, citing corporate greed.[13] According to the Wayne County Economic Development Department, HP Hood stated that market conditions were the primary reason for the closure." Cupped pepperoni. But some aren't sweet. I hate the sweet. Not a fan of Bocce's Doughy bread I think is the main think. They don't get fancy with it.
  13. I thought same here. Sodus... IIRC now... Has Massachusetts on the container now. Maybe @Wacka is getting it confused with another brand? Bison and Upstate Cooperative: https://buffalonews.com/business/local/made-in-wny-why-buffalos-expats-cant-find-bison-french-onion-dip-on-shelves/article_37e0f118-2ec5-11ed-a504-4770fd12e718.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heluva_Good! "Heluva Good! is an American company specializing in cheeses, chip dips, sour cream and condiments. It has been a subsidiary of dairy company HP Hood LLC since the acquisition of Crowley Foods in 2004. The primary offices for the company are in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Heluva Good! products are sold in grocery stores throughout much of the United States and Canada. A Heluva Good! Country Store was located in Wallington, New York, just east of the village of Sodus which first opened in 1980. All cheese products were packaged at a plant in Sodus, New York. Both locations closed on June 26, 2015."
  14. Genesee bought Koch's out in 1990s. Say Cheese! On Grand Island is decent... http://www.saycheesepizza.com/menu.html
  15. Add Bar-Bill I thought Koch's was out of Dunkirk, NY. Koch's definitely NOT Rochester. Especially back in the day! Maybe it is now. Because it's all in the gravy. Have you never been to South Bend? Well that's the point, the beef on week was invented to be given away gratis in order to sell more beer from the bar.
  16. Just a sour cream based dip vs. the yucky (I think) whey based dip. Anything base with sour cream will taste similar, but I have met some who think they know the difference between Bison and Helluva... It's basic and unpretentious. That's what makes it good besides being doughy, bready...
  17. It's like when my son was in college a few years back and my wife asked him if he writes his 80 year old grandmother a letter and mails it... I think it was about a birthday card he got (and of course a check in it)... Wife wanted a hand writtened thank you sent. ANYWAY, my son lamely replied: "I don't know where to get a stamp."😁 My brother, who was still living at time, was in on the conversation replies: "I betcha you know where to cash that check and buy a condom." 😆 🤣 Little bit awkward wife around, lol, but brilliant. Shut that snarky little punk right up... He didn't know what to say! LoL...
  18. Stomped 'em 13-4! 🏆 The Bandits didn't quit!
  19. Because ranch sucks. It's like putting ketchup on a Chicago hot dog. On that note... I never really embraced Sahlen's hot dogs. Skinless all-beef, kosher are taste way better.
