  1. The Jack Benny Show "Rochester Van Jones, Jack's valet and chauffeur. Early in the show's run, he often talked of gambling or going out with women. Later on, he generally complained about his salary." That would go over well in 2019! Oh wait, maybe it would, move it to MTV or the Bachelor, mix a little Joisey Shore & Kardashians in there. /smh
  2. I missed that! I never get ads logged in. Strange you are getting them. I am almost 99.9% on my phone now. I don't own a desktop.
  3. This! But it forces you to sign out... I know, I know... I use the Weather Channel App (ouch, especially Myself trying to guard info and location...LoL)... So: When I minimize this forum and go HomeScreen on phone... Click the widget, check weather details... When I return back here, I am logged out! What gives. Happens almost all the time if I go to radar. I suspect ads here are tied to location, why I get ads for the area healthcare (Franciscan Alliance). In fact, I just logged in and there was a Lyft ad.
  4. I just don't like info to be put out there... Except stuff I provide freely (this place). You can think what you want... But I guess it would help. People are such slobs with stuff, lazy too... Especially with information. This is from a guy (myself) who has never had a Facebook, social media presence outside of this place.
  5. I wish it was soft and toasty. These desky jockey bureaucrats from the Arsenal were true pros to the meeting scene... Union people. Strangely it wasn't me. I am just a working slob from a field site... Swing shifter. We learn to deal with a chaffed rosey Federal azz... Then again... I don't think I am toting around a seat cushion for the once every 2 year safety meeting I have to attend. LoL...
  6. He just happened to be in a liquor store and saw it... Grabbed it up. Nice having expandable income... The wife would whoop my azzz... "But Honey, it's an "investment!" ??
  7. My Brother has a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle he just bought. He leaves for New York City for New Year's, we are staying over... He says: "You can drink anything you want, but don't touch the Pappy Van Winkle." I am not a whiskey guy... Is that good? I am not sure how old it was? I think the bottle was like 2 grand. ?
  8. Good thing you didn't decide to go aft for a midnight stroll along the poop deck.
  9. When I don't logo in... I get my healtcare provider. I always surf incognito and clear the cache, don't allow cookies.
  10. Yeah real great... They can all sit around the garage waiting for one person to call while Uber & Lyft cannibalize their fares. LoL... That one person would be my wife because she doesnt want to load an Uber App. That's one hell of a boring cab ride to the Walden Galleria Mall. True story, last visit, the son and I were skiing and had the truck... She needed a lift to the mall and called a cab! She had to tell the cabbie how to get there... He said: "Lady, I only take people to the airport." LMAO Riveting TV, a "Taxi" reboot in 2019 Uber Age. Just reboot it: "Uber" and cut to @Gugny 's garage. /smh... ?
  11. From Trump's echo chamber: "Trump has insisted that federal workers are willing to endure some pain during the partial shutdown - which affects about 800,000 government employees in all - because they agree with him on the imperative of fortifying the border." Ah... Yeah, right Disco Donny. Federal workers endure pain? I went to training session and the bureaucrats brought pillows to sit on because the chairs were too hard. Nice one Don...
  12. Are Chuck's staffers shutdown? I don't think they will be listening to that message anytime soon. Should I call and tape over your message? ?
  13. Fence? I thought it was a wall. A really high, magnificent, concrete wall that Mexico was gonna buy us. Ah... Crap! Don't tell me I was implanted with false memories. First, missing statistics in @TakeYouToTasker post a year ago, now this. /smh
  14. Mandela Effect. It never existed. You were implanted with false memory. See @Deranged Rhino /smh
  15. Father Knows Best. What Baby Mama even knows who the father is?
  16. Because it's warm. No income tax? They can free load off the rest of the country when a storm hits.
  17. Work is sending you to Hong Kong? How's the foot issues?
  18. I think I was 22 and done with college. Anyway... My father used to work on railroad. What would piss off the younger generation (this was 1950s & 60s) on the railroad is... They would work the roster all year long for the older ones, then come Christmas... Would get bumped by higher seniority. The reason, that's when the freebies would flow, be given out... Like the Christmas ham, etc... That's how it was in the old days. So the old people were actually working the holidays!
  19. Factor in: 1. May not pump your own fuel. 2. All the Hippies flopped there (Vermont on the East Coast) during the 1970s to raise families. You have quite a sustainable situation. LoL... What the heck, toss some shrooms in for good measure.
  20. I agree. But... The level of tardiness with new hires, well from my puny corner of the world is crippling. Maybe teaching the importance of just showing up would hammer home the message earlier. Way too unstructured today. This would have never happened in the industrial era. Bells, periods, clocks in school.
  21. I thought the killer was a white guy! WTF... That's what the eyewitnesses said. Oops. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/01/06/family-felt-black-childs-killing-was-hate-crime-an-arrest-gave-police-new-direction/?utm_term=.d4a54a6b3e2a
