  1. My father sits at night with no lights on His cigarette glows in the dark The living room is still I walk by, no remark I tiptoe past the master bedroom where My mother reads her magazines I hear her call sweet dreams But I forgot how to dream But you say it's time we moved in together And raised a family of our own, you and me Well, that's the way I've always heard it should be You want to marry me, we'll marry My friends from college they're all married now They have their houses and their lawns They have their silent noons Tearful nights, angry dawns Their children hate them for the things they're not They hate themselves for what they are And yet they drink, they laugh Close the wound, hide the scar But you say it's time we moved in together And raised a family of our own, you and me Well, that's the way I've always heard it should be You want to marry me, we'll marry You say we can keep our love alive Babe all I know is what I see The couples cling and claw And drown in love's debris You say we'll soar like two birds through the clouds But soon you'll cage me on your shelf I'll never learn to be just me first By myself Well okay, it's time we moved in together And raised a family of our own, you and me Well, that's the way I've always heard it should be You want to marry me, we'll marry We'll marry
  2. Well I see you've got a husband now. Did he leave your pretty fingers lying In the wedding cake? You used to hold him right in your hand. I'll bet he took all he could take. Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking When I hear the silly things that you say. I think somebody better put out the big light, Cause I can't stand to see you this way.
  3. Sure they could... But who wants to?Absolutely foolish looking. Always has been. Cringe worthy. Never been a Mick Jagger fan. Over-rated. People eat the absurd up.
  4. When I was born They looked at me and said What a good boy What a smart boy What a strong boy And when you were born They looked at you and said What a good girl What a smart girl What a pretty girl
  5. Where is he staying @ "The Y" or is that in the church hall? Anyway... I think I just threw up in my mouth. 5 more good years left. 80s hit people hard.
  6. Kegs bit heavy! 1/4 keg? Unfortunately the old guy is dead (neighbor across the street where we lived)... I could of swore he said "beerball." Which... Would have been prior to 1973 @ Rockpile. You sure they didn't make them earlier?
  7. No. I knew an old-timer that said... That they would bring a beerball into the Rockpile. Totally possible: NSFW: Don't be a... https://www.ebay.com/p/Stap-on-Brew-Ballz-Beer-Drinking-Game-Bachelorette-Bachelor-Party-Gag-Gift/2255357153?iid=152001696862&chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=152001696862&targetid=596843724198&device=m&adtype=pla&googleloc=9021638&poi=&campaignid=1689945013&adgroupid=69559042287&rlsatarget=pla-596843724198&abcId=1140466&merchantid=8307774&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4YaGj7Cd4gIVhbfACh1oywp8EAQYAyABEgKcS_D_BwE
  8. You said: "The road to ruin began the day we abandon the concept that individuals are responsible for their own situation; economic, criminal, social, etc." In the post I quoted, you didn't say responsible for themselves, you said own situation. There is a difference between themselves and their situation Yes. One has to live off the land. That's where individuals are truly responsible for their own situation. There is no "road to ruin" being interdependent on others.
  9. Was that the day we stopped being an agrarian society and moved to a consumer society? Like it or not you can't pick and choose.
  10. Because they have a God given right under the USC... So they will be selfish. Won't bend. See other POV's because it threatens that right.
  11. This is going PPP. LoL... Hope you're ready! Thanks Fergy & Gug. ? You on your own down there... Don't be crying when you're slogging through a PPP rice patty of guns, God, and the Bible up to you're neck. LMAO...The Lock Operator does everything in his power to fight those cats off... I can't be babysitting you guys!
  12. Yeah... And Hamilton duelling Burr knew what was best too... To engage in an idiotic shoot out. Is it fair enough to say the idiocy goes way back.
  13. Sadly, historically, they usually do: https://www.thedailybeast.com/when-big-government-saved-america
  14. Yeah... But it takes you 50 years to die. Not 50 milliseconds.
  15. I did my best But I guess, my best wasn't good enough 'Cause, here we are back where we were before Seems nothin' ever changes We're back to bein' strangers Wonderin' if, we ought to stay Or head on, out the door Just Once... Can we figure out, what we keep, doin' wrong Why, we never last for very long What are we doin' wrong? Just once... Can we find a way, to finally make it right To make the magic last, for more than just one night If we, could just get to it I know we could, break through it
  16. Back when people were normal and not out of control... One could actually bring a beerball into the Rockpile. Imagine doing that today.
  17. I was just gonna post it. Gotta go off resort, into town for a more efficient emoji experience: ????? https://emojipedia.org/pile-of-poo/
  18. What failed was their Hoover type policies. Sorry... What I meant was their attempt to keep the clock turned back. There was an original "Firster" movement in this country. What failed the first time was their attempt to counter the New Deal. Counter progressivism. That's where they want a mulligan. They want a do-over w/their conservative anti-progressive model. Look we even have tariffs! Wow, what a shock.
  19. Behold the fruits of the scared conservative: AKA: A 1929 Mulligan. It failed the first time.
  20. No I don't. I am old. Should I? LoL... I am really exposing my naivety here... Clueless. I guess I can Google it.
  21. "As I write, I watch the night go down And I see the lonely, twinkling lights of town And I think about a girl She's out there in the world She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere I heard her sing once at the rodeo She wore a rhinestone suit of white and gold And as she sang and played She stole my heart away She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere She's looking for me somewhere, I know She's looking for me high and looking low Oh, to live and die, it seems Is a waste without a dream She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere She's looking for me somewhere, I know She's looking for me high and looking low Oh, to live and die, it seems Is a waste without a dream She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere And as the morning sun begins to rise Alone, I go to bed and I close my eyes And I Dream about a girl Out there in the world She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere She's looking for, she's looking for me somewhere" [BoDeans sound so much better live than studio!]
