  1. Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona Such a fine sight to see It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford Slowin' down to take a look at me... [Albeit ancient 51 year, but the best shape I have ever been in, azz...?] Lyrics never written: ...Then couldn't take it anymore And sped away leaving me be.
  2. I am trying. I say to my family all the time when I am in their way: "I will get out of your hair." My wife replies back: "And... My hair thanks you!" Yes. LoL...
  3. Sonny Bono felt young @ 62. He smashed into a tree!
  4. Trust me, you are more fragile... Closer to the edge. I am only 7 eye blink years behind you. LMAO... Take care of yourself at a younger age and you would have been doing circles around your ancient 58 year OLD azz! I don't jump off cliffs anymore with my son skiing... Because: I am freaking 51!!!! Yeah, lost a little weight, better "shape" now than in my late 40s... But not 30s & 20s. I would do circles around my life today @ 51 when I was 31... And I have had an easy life. Clint was 43 when he made this: I am more fragile. One eff-up away from longer healing. Sorry... This hurts people's feelings. The title of this thread is: "Entertainers who died YOUNG." 57 ain't dying young. LMAO. Maybe it's dying like they "feel" young... Crap, I will be 94 and still may feel young. Ha! I will kick off Chef's thread: Prince didn't die young
  5. Huh. My Children are 21 and 17. 57 is ancient. My 31 old nephew thinks 51 (my age is ancient)... I think my neighbor @ 71 is ancient! She was 20 when I was born... 1968. So much changed in the country and world in those 20 years. Both my children born in the internet world. I am ancient! You're a few years younger... You're ancient. 57 is: OLD. My Mother died @ 58. Maybe before her time. But not young. She was old. That was 20 years ago. (My Mother) was born in 1940 for Christ's sake. Before WWII. Or at BEFORE the US entered. My Father 1936.
  6. No. 57 is "old." LoL.. Really. Most will be dead in under 20 years. That's old. Past mid-life, how is that young or too young to die? I guess 80 is too young to die. My God... Deal with aging and do it gracefully. Accept what "old" means. We are in for it with the "Me" (Boomers) generation and their "Echoes" (Millennials). /smh...
  7. I knew this kid named Max who used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs He liked to hang out late he liked to get *****-faced and keep the pace with thugs Until late one night there was a big gun fight and max lost his head He pulled out his chrome .45, talked some *****, and wound up dead Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all of this pain You know it comes that way at least that's what they say when you play the game God forbid you ever had to wake up to hear the news 'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose

  9. Prince was pushing 60 @ 57 years. That ain't "young". IMO "young" is under 39... Even that is pushing. I say 20s. 57? LMAO. Hank Williams... Classic. 29.
  10. You would think... There would be a way to block them with computers. Lot of spoofing going on. Got into an argument with someone who called my cell. They said I called, I said no, they said my # on their caller Id. LoL... How the heck are they spoofing #s. At least a cell, you can block the #. I agree. Lots of gratuitous stuff consumers are bombarded with today... And they always make bad choices.
  11. Nice three! Non-commercially popular tunes! I guess I am partial to haunting ballads... Those don't win the public over. Public wants "happy" or at least that's what the Execs say. Hmmmm???
  12. They stand @ intersection with a boot and beg for money. Because their departments aren't getting enough. The police should write them a ticket for standing in traffic. Professional beggars. Same with the professional charities that beg on the phone for the widows and orphans... We must not be paying them well enough?
  13. I leave 10 bucks a day for maids. It's back breaking work. I value their work. I am not a pig in the room... It doesn't get left a mess. @LeviF91 nailed in his post above. I don't tip for my service. I tip to gracious and thankful that someone is helping. It's about them, not me. I know I am an oddball. So be it. I don't even understand why it's necessary the begging culture... People simply aren't paid enough or we aren't taxes for our services enough if public entities have to beg for extra money, widows and orphans, etc... etc... Charity sometimes creates more problems, inequity: https://www.wired.com/story/mackenzie-bezos-tech-philanthropy-pitfalls/amp This article can be applied to the culture of tipping, begging for extra. The fact is, these people are underpaid for their services.
  14. I think: "Waiting on a Friend", "Point Blank", & "Patience"... Are some of the best. Not those commercial success. I think it's almost 100%.
  15. Hear that lonesome whippoorwill He sounds too blue to fly That means he's lost the will to live I'm so lonesome I could cry Did you ever see a night so slow As time goes draggin' by The moon just went behind the clouds To hide its face and cry The silence of a falling star Lights up a purple sky And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry I'm so lonesome I could cry I'm so lonesome I could cry
  16. "It's not cheating, it's just being smarter." ~Signed, Donald J. Trump
  17. While they are panhandling as a public safety menace on the street? Just raise my taxes please = just raise the wages of restaurant workers so we can avoid beggars. Begging culture.

  19. Another shocker: "Hotel Cali" in top 5. Makes me almost want to look like this guy: (If you don't know the story behind Costello's look. Look it up. FWIW, I personally don't mind Eagles... BUT "Hotel California" is way over-played, overrated! And Elvis knew it 40 years ago!)
  20. Yeah... I thought about that after I posted. Keeps the listeners (Billy Joe Stoner from the '70s) guessing. ?
  21. Exactly! Yet... On other hand: Look @ us lock operators! LMAO... Oops scratch that. ? What douchebag. If he had a boat, I'd make him wait 36 hours. LMAO...
  22. Let me guess who won? LZ "Stairway to Heaven." Gee that's a shock... Been winning the last 35 years. /smh Oh... Wait. Freebird #2. That's like the Bills being second in League 40 years running.
  23. +1. Don't forget the bridge is going up at same time. So if it's a draw bridge, double leaf, the landing is important since other leaf is going up. Bit easier with a single leaf bascule type bridge. Forget about it totally if it's a lift or turntable. That's just dumb and dumber for even trying! LoL...
  24. Even worse... Firefighters, police panhandling @ the intersection. That's the absolute lowest of the low.
