I'm pretty sure canals are no parking zones

Lotta things in play... Here's a map. Confirms my hunch that the Suez Canal has low pronounced tidal variation: Blue is low, red high tidal variation Stay in your lane people! ππ€£π -

Yes! But it may be like waiting for the Sabres to score, even worse, win a game! π Looks like they are screwed in Egypt. Suez is only @ 30Β° N. The tides at the lower latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere are not as pronounced as the are at higher latitudes... That is what I meant... "In the higher latitudes of the northern hemisphere, the continents of North America, Europe, and Asia are pressed closer together. This βconstrictionβ of the oceans creates the effect of a higher range of tides." -

Not sure. Is there tides in the canal? Gotta be, right... ?? They said 200,000 tons, those gotta be loads, loaded containers. . So I would imagine there's no ballast? I think I read it was going North to Amsterdam. Coming from the Pacific Rim, right? -

Yes. π€£π€£No. But we have internet... π There's no locks on the Suez. It's just a sea level ditch AND my first job with the Corps was a hydrographic surveyor. Taking soundings (depth readings, as you probably know) for dredging operations on the Eastern Great Lakes, also QA for construction on the Presque Isle erosion control project in late 1980s/early 1990s. Yes "depth" is my game. Yes... Dredge operations and construction, soundings is my lane, believe it or not! ππ Digging and measuring... And pushing buttons. ππ -

Yeah... The bow is stuck. They have bow thrusters to keep things stable. Surprised they didn't have tug escort being 400m long AND windy conditions... BUT it's Egypt πͺπ¬ and do you want the cost of your new LED TV going up! π -

Why would Japan? Japanese owner apologized: https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-middle-east-56522178 The Dutch on the scene! Shout Out to: @BringBackFergy @Beerball @Gugny @Mike in Horseheads @Seasons1992 All my usual Peeps... Sure doesn't look like they can just send a tug to the rescue! /smh... "A flotilla of eight tug boats resumed efforts to move the Ever Given at high tide on Thursday morning after stopping overnight, Egyptian officials said. Dredgers and diggers have also been clearing sand and mud away from the bow of the vessel, which is sitting on the side of the canal. The head of a Netherlands-based salvage company assisting the operation warned that it could take weeks to dislodge the boat and that containers might have to be lifted off to lighten its load. "We can't exclude it might take weeks, depending on the situation," Peter Berdowski, the CEO of Boskalis, told the Dutch TV station NPO." -

Suez is a one-way street. They take turns going in opposite directions... Is there an "emergency lane" if they gotta enter on the traffic side? π Suez is sea level too (no locks)... It's one-direction at a time too... -

Good guess. But no... Bit older. Was really the one who popularized skiing in the US. But, he wasn't born in the US. He died a few years ago @ 88. I got @BringBackFergy on retainer. You're toast! ππ

When flair was king and shaped skis weren't around to make everyone look like a pro: Even when he got old, he refused to open those knees up... I say I can't blame him! Not a speck of daylight coming through those legs! What famous skier? I thought it was in words? His nickname is on the back of that Grateful Dead album. π

Common cold is a coronavirus. My MIL got it a few weeks ago. Getting second one soon. Not one problem... She's 84. BUT she's 90 pounds soaking wet. The higher the BMI, they constant state of inflammation a body is in. Probably why some are getting reactions to the jab. BUT, it is better than getting it in the wild! Almost non-existant extreme reaction where one has to be hospitalized! It's what the vaxx should do!
