  1. Didn't they go down there with a rover and find like every other cargo hatch was unsecured... Insinuating that maybe the crew didn't get the vessel ready properly enough for heavy weather. ???
  2. I think up in Vermont is the same. Generally anywhere in rural settings you kinda get that. My sister got married and lived in SHAR-lot, Vermont.
  3. This moose is on the loose! Bears? Pffft! They ain't nuttin'! From The Weather Channel Android App: https://weather.com/news/trending/video/moose-attacks-dog-sled-team-in-alaska?pl=pl-the-latest
  4. Viewer left or picture left? πŸ˜† I am sorry... Have to say it. The guy in your avatar too... Keith, right! Must have been in one of his moods... πŸ˜‰
  5. I like it! Only @Gugnywants to be called Upstate...Everyone else is below him. Why he puts au jus on a beef & weck and makes it a French dip! πŸ˜† He wants to be better than the rest and still rally around BFLo bar cuisine! 😏 Hey... @Beerball I put my pants on one leg at a time AFTER I finish swimming! πŸ˜†
  6. Let's just say "this isn't my first rodeo" πŸ˜† with say the likes of Mr.Gugny and the Chefmaster . They like to feel special and don't realize there's a big world out there that shares some of their geographical space... It's the only reason why guys like that fail to recognize that a state with it's name the same as the nation's largest city, is greatly influenced by that city, is first subdivided into 2 parts and then 9 specific regions. People like that "pull the cart before the horse." OR should I say the barge before the mule on the towpath. 😏
  7. NYS subdivided into 2 main parts, then subdivided into 9 distinct regions either in Upstate and Downstate. The Erie Canal in its entirety runs through Upstate New York. 1. UPSTATE: Region 0 – Capital/Saratoga β€” Albany Albany Columbia Fulton Greene Montgomery Rensselaer Saratoga Schenectady Schoharie Warren Washington Region 1 – Eastern Adirondacks β€” Plattsburgh Franklin Clinton Essex Hamilton Region 2 – Western Adirondacks β€” Watertown Herkimer Jefferson Lewis Oneida Oswego St. Lawrence Region 3 – Central New York β€” Syracuse Broome Cayuga Chenango Cortland Madison Onondaga Otsego Tioga Tompkins Region 4 – Finger Lakes β€” Rochester Chemung Genesee Livingston Monroe Ontario Schuyler Seneca Steuben Wayne Yates Region 5 – Western New York β€” Buffalo Allegany Cattaraugus Chautauqua Erie Niagara Orleans Wyoming 2. DOWNSTATE: All the BS areas associated w/NYC Region 6 – Hudson Valley β€” Kingston Delaware Dutchess Orange Putnam Sullivan Ulster Region 7 – Westchester/Rockland β€” White Plains Rockland Westchester Region 8 – Long Island β€” Hauppauge Nassau Suffolk Region 9 – New York City Bronx Kings New York Richmond Queens
  8. I see you flunked Grade 7 NYS Social Studies. Smoking too much dope. πŸ˜‰ New York City is highlighted in red; "Upstate" refers to some or all of the area north and west of the city. Not swam it but know someone who ran it... For my niece's husband who lost his battle with cancer last year @ 35 years old. πŸ˜†... NOT me. 😊 😚
  9. I have a co-worker Jorge. Lots of people call him George. WTF is wrong with people! You're asking a lot of the long, illustrious lineage and education of the locals! πŸ˜† BUT get unruly when you throw the: "S" in Illinois! πŸ˜†
  10. ANY you slice it... It's a clustereff and true bastardization. Louis Jolliet is 2 "L's"...
  11. BUT! Joliet... I think was going to be corrupted to "Juliet"... Situated next to Romeoville and there were going to be "Twin Cities?" ?? Man... Things change? I always thought it was the explorer, Louis Jolliet. Hence the "Jolly" thing? Anyway... We are built on a very illiterate and corrupted English country. πŸ˜†
  12. WTF! That's how they'd pronounce it in Midwest! You simply can't take the country out of folk. San Jose gets: San Josie! Shaking my head in disbelief... Bourbonnais, Illinois gets: Burr-BONE-us. Joliet gets: JOLLY-ette. WHICH, is probably closest to the original (I am assuming) French: Joelie-aye??
  13. Tomorrow (first Monday of March) is Casimir Pulaski Day in Chicago. City Holiday, kids get school off. A true American hero! Anyway... That's the "hick element" and long vowels. Here: Cairo, Illinois is: KAY-ro. /smdh...
  14. On that note... Marseilles, Illinois is pronounced: "Mar-Sails." I guess that's NOT so bad and too overly hicky... Why does Des Moines get pronounced proper and then Des Plaines get botched? For fear of sounding like Herve Villachaize? "De Planes! De Planes!" 😏 Same with Versailles, Illinois... Ver-Sails.
  15. Worcester, MA. When did it become Wooster, OH... Tchoupitoulas street (NOLA)... ACTUALLY... Isn't there a word for this? The ability to ferret out any outsiders in a local culture? Anything in the God forsaken Midwest too. Don't even ask how they say: Bourbonnais Cairo San Jose Illinois. You'll dig your ears out with red-hot pokers! πŸ˜†
  16. TikTok I heard somewhere automatically ads like a 10% filter that they don't tell you about. Yup that's right! I am 54 going on 48.6! Trust me, makes all the difference! πŸ˜† Like Gug said... She looks 45.9. 😏
  17. Now this damn song is stuck in my head! "...Let me go on Like I blister in the sun Let me go on Big hands, I know you're the one..."
  18. You just made the big time buddy! TBDism! πŸ˜† πŸ˜‰
  19. From a "Would Ya" thread: "...really none of schabusiness." πŸ˜†
  20. Check out the pre-song ribbing, banter... πŸ˜†...
