Well it's like this, Shepard has been lining up at QB and WR during spring practices. a couple days ago, he lined up at QB, and rolled out, and took it 46 yards for a TD. A defensive coach yelled out "CAN'T YOU TACKLE THAT GUY", a defensive back yelled back "Tackle Him? We Can't Touch Him?"
He is definitely no Jordan Jefferson passing, and Jefferson definitely isn't Russell Shepard in scrambling. Shepard will be our Percy Harvin basically. Look for Shepard to play a role similar to Ryan Perrilloux when he provided a change of pace for Matt Flynn the year we won the National Championship. Perrilloux rarely passed but was explosive in the option, look for Shepard to do the same. He will also line up wide some also, but we are too over loaded at WR this season to put him on that depth chart.
