9-12: Sean McDermott & Shady-Allen Pressers Live
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McBeane better pray that Josh Allen shows that he is a franchise QB given all that they have invested (gave up) to get him. If Josh does not show that he is a franchise QB (or that he is highly likely to be one), McBeane have dug their own graves. -

His refusal to even remotely admit that he made a mistake is reminiscent of his failure to do so after the Charger game last year. Some of the stuff this guy does is cringe worthy. -
I like Sal, but keep in mind that Sal always seems to paint with a brush that puts McBeane in the best light possible. It is very difficult for him to ever acknowledge that McBeane have ever made a bad move. We can guess as to why that is. As an aside, I knew that the Bills were picking Josh Allen when I heard Sal on the morning show talking him up the week of the draft in a way that I had not heard before in response to Jeremy's concerns about Josh.

Nobody should be doubting Beane or McDermott

Yep. This is kind of like the kid who kills his parents and then asks for the court's mercy because he is an "orphan." -

1) I do not know for sure, but I do believe it. 2) I am somewhat partial to Seantrel because he is a Miami guy (I am a UM season ticket holder), but there are plenty of former Miami players that I would not feel the same way about. Maybe it is because of my history watching Seantrel play (with UM and the Bills) and seeing what he has gone through that has convinced me that he would be an upgrade for the Bills. I guess I see the same thing in Seantrel as Brian Gaine (Texans GM and former Bills VP) sees in him. -

Cordy Glenn is starting for the Bengals. He played on 100% of the snaps in game one. I am convinced that our Pro Bowl left guard would be just fine within the structure of the team (as he had been) if the Bills did not stupidly try to nickel and dime him (especially given how they wasted money on Corey Coleman for example). My view of Seantrel is the same as Brian Gaine (our former VP who was hired as GM of the Texans), who signed Seantrel in the off season. Before he broke his ankle this past weekend, he had been named the starter and reportedly played well in the preseason and in practice against JJ Watt. -

Cordy Glenn Richie Incognito Seantrel Henderson P.S. Our cap situation would be a whole bunch better if McBeane had not made some of the decisions that they made. -

Mike Tyson: "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Unfortunately, I do doubt these guys. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for some time but not anymore. I am not saying that they should be fired. I think that the lack of continuity is one of the biggest problems that we have had and that it would be unfair to give guys less than two years or just two years. Nevertheless, I have not been very impressed . . . and every time I hear McCoach reference his stolen catch phrase, I cringe. I hope we can turn this thing around, but I have thought that this year was going to be long and painful given that (in my judgment) last year was combination of luck and a mirage and it has not gotten any better . . . as the game against the Ravens demonstrated. At the end of the year, we shall see whether McBeane should be trusted to continue to helm the ship and select what could be a top five pick. If there are a bunch of games like the Ravens game that completely embarrass the franchise, it could very well be that McCoach and Beane enter into GMTM territory and we all know how that ended up for GMTM. -

Seantrel Henderson out for the year

You know, you and I disagree 100%. It happens. End of story. I think we made a big mistake not making any effort to resign him. -

If I recall that game correctly, we were chipping and doubling Watt for a good part of that game. I would have to watch it again to be sure. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that the Bills would be better with Seantrel on this roster. Moreover, in addition to playing tackle, I do recall he played some guard at UM. As an aside, I also do not recall Seantrel ever being pushed around and manhandled like Dion was against Myles Garrett. -

I have watched every snap and he would be a HUGE improvement over what we have. Don't ask me. Ask our former VP who became the GM of the Texans and immediately signed him. Don't let yourself be clouded by what can be the "conventional" wisdom on this board or sports radio. Some guys get a bad rap and it has nothing or little to do with their performance. Just my two cents. -
Seantrel Henderson out for the year
Peter replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were foolish to let him go. I believed it then and I certainly believe it now after seeing how we have mishandled the offensive line. Guess what - guys do get injured in this league. It happens all too often. Of course, just because he got hurt playing for the Texans does NOT mean that he would have gotten a season ending injury if he were still with us. With respect, your post makes no sense given that is what you are implying (otherwise why would you post it). P.S. Seantrel reportedly was playing very well for the Texans and, in particular, against JJ Watt in practice. We have nobody on our line who could match up well against JJ Watt. -
One of them won the starting job and reportedly playing well for the Texans including in practice against JJ Watt.

Whether one likes what McBeane have done or not, their future will be based on: 1) Josh Allen; 2) Whether they field a team that can compete in the playoffs next year (not just make the playoffs on fluky plays and good luck). Some might add a number 3 to this. That would be how things go this year. If the season is like the first game, they both could be in serious trouble. As a general rule, however, I think that continuity is good and the lack of continuity has really hurt this team over the past few years. Although I am not particularly impressed with McBeane, I do think that it would be unfair to fire someone in less than two years or only two years. Nevertheless, if this team gets blown out and embarrasses the franchise on a regular basis this year (like it did yesterday), McBeane will enter GMTM territory, and we know how that ended for him.

I appreciate it when people share in good faith. Thanks.

I believe yesterday was a bit of a fluke

Good point. Not only was the team bad, it was downright embarrassing and painful. I can only imagine what it will be like at the stadium if the team has another bad outing against the Chargers. -

Apparently the "culture" that McCoach is building is one where our guys get manhandled. -

Is there a Rasmus Dahlin in the NFL 2019 draft? I have to say that Rasmus Dahlin continues to put a smile on my face, and I am thankful that we have him given what looks to be a very long and depressing football season. -
DL snap counts for yesterdays game...

It is funny how people on this board disparaged Dareus because he was rotated. These stats show that the entire defensive line was part of a rotation.
