I agree with the above except for the bit about Rex not caring.
I also think that we would have been better off not throwing him under the bus after just one year (e.g. leak to Vic Carucci before second season that Rex would be fired if the Bills did not make the playoffs . . . .).
He would have (or at least could have had) the benefit of all of the assets that we gave up to be able to draft Josh.
One particularly good example is a guy by the name of Cordy Glenn.
Like it or not, McCoach will forever be linked with the decision not to draft him and trade the pick.
P.S. Yes, McCoach, not Whaley, was in control of that draft etc.
I think Boldin quit on McBeane after he saw what was happening in person. Not a good look.
P.S. If I came across as a little strong in my reply to your earlier post, I did not mean to and I apologize.
McBeane love them some dead cap money.
They claimed they wanted to get rid of "bad contracts," but, as we have seen, they love their own bad contracts . . . and how many guys are they going to over pay (read bad contracts) this coming off season.
Ugh.
Boldin had a reason?
Did you actually buy his save the world reason?
Did you still buy it later in the season when there were rumors he wanted to sign with another team but the Bills would not release him?
When I stop hearing about McBeane's "process" (stolen from Nick Saban and later the 76ers) and the purported "culture change," I will stop mentioning that it is BS.
