  1. I really think that this was part of the master plan. McBeane want players who have some humility. Suffering an historic beat down clearly was part of the process.
  2. Right now, that seems like a fairly good bet.
  3. It is funny how the realists here and in the media were shouted down by certain McBeane people leading up to this season. Now, various McBeane people* are saying that this is all part of the "process" and was to be expected. *TBF, I have not checked and do not know whether these are the same McBeane people.
  4. I actually think it is called hubris.
  5. It is very odd. Not only did they get rid of many guys that we drafted (that clearly can play in this league): 1) They fired the priest that Rex hired; 2) They kept Crossman (because they presumably thought he was good for Lord knows what reason) but fired his assistant, Kathryn Smith, after the Bills made such h a big deal of promoting her to a full time coach. Firing the priest seemed so cold blooded and gratuitous.
  6. You are right on here. Not only have they stolen their catch phrase, they are so vague about what the "process" is so that they can attempt to justify just about anything they do as being part of the process: "Yes, we lost and were totally outplayed and outreached and embarrassed, but that is all part of the process. We want to show the players what it is like to be a cluster **** of a team so that they will appreciate what we are trying to build."
  7. We started hearing it after the historic and embarrassing loss last week. It is going to get downright ugly this year. If historically embarrassing losses are part of the process, God help us. We sure could use a guy who can tackle and stop the run.
  8. I never understood why there was not a place on this team for him and some others . . . especially given that he was on a rookie contract and especially on a team that has such a hard time stopping the run. Darby is another guy. People like to say McCoach likes to play zone. Well, it is a hell of a lot easier for a man to man guy to play zone than the other way around. I am confident that Darby could do well in this defense . . . and, indeed, we really could use him.
  9. How many games are we going to win this year?
  10. We got rid of some good players for various reasons (not that I agree with them). We got rid of some of these guys because of what has been referred to as "bad contracts." We have "replaced" some of those guys with McBeane's bad contracts. We have exponentially increased our dead money. We are likely to be one of the worst teams in the NFL at the end of the season. Because we are likely to be one of the worst teams in the NFL (and we have an inexperienced rookie QB), we are likely to have to overpay to attract free agents. In other words, read "bad contracts." Rinse and repeat. At the same time, we have an aging lineup.
  11. It has become an after the fact justification for the embarrassment that is 2018.
  12. The front office was stupid. Marrone was a traitor. Neither is a good look.
  13. Frazier was running McCoach's defense. We shall see how McCoach does calling plays against the Vikings at the beginning of the game.
  14. I think it is unlikely that they are let go after this year. As I have said, it is completely unfair to fire a coach after just two years . . . and it is certainly completely unfair to fire a coach in less than two years . . . . Having said that, things might change if we have many more historic and embarrassing losses and attendance is really bad later in the season.
  15. I wonder if Vontae will pull a George Costanza after he quit his job (which is based on Larry David quitting Saturday Night Live). He could just go back to OBD and pretend it did not happen. Larry David Pretended He Did Not Quit SNL George Pretends He Did not Quit
  16. Take away the Super Bowls, the MVPs, the all pros, the pro bowl selections, the status of being a sure fire first team Hall of Famer, the many years of winning the division . . . and they are basically the same player. I am just joking. I think that the kid has potential. We shall see what that is. I just wish McBeane put Josh in a better position to succeed this year.
  17. You are spot on. I don't want to hear McBeane or their supporters complain about the roster. These are the players they wanted (including all of the dead cap and players not on the team). As I have said before, McBeane and others complaining about the roster is like the kid who killed his parents throwing himself at the mercy of the court because he is an orphan. Marrone was a traitor. He left knowing he would get paid regardless because he had it in his head that he was going to get the Jets' job. Good coach. Horrible human being.
  18. Marrone has the better talent. For example, he has Marcell Dareus . . . oh, wait, never mind.
  19. Given the point spread against the Vikings, Vegas really looks at the Bills as one of those Little Sister of the Poor teams that big time college programs play at the beginning of the college football season. It is truly embarrassing what McBeane have done to this team in such a short period of time. Wow.
  20. I disagree with you but we shall see. I am not going to respond to each of your points. You can review prior posts of mine for that. I wil say that McBeane have replaced "bad contracts" with bad contracts of their own and have exponentially increased our dead cap. It will be interesting to see how many guys they overpay this coming off season (read bad contracts) to get guys to sign with a team that is likely to be one of the worst in the league.
  21. If and when he gets better protection, we will be in a better position to evaluate this. It does not surprise me that there are some issues. He is very raw and McBeane did not do him any favors with the offensive line or the receivers.
  22. Little known fact: Vontae's name also will be on the Stanley Cup if the Sabres win the cup this year.
  23. The kid played ok under difficult circumstances. I was not a huge fan of drafting him and certainly am not a fan of everything that we gave up to draft him . . . but I saw enough today to be reasonably and cautiously optimistic about his potential. He also is a tough kid (physically and mentally) it seems. That will serve him well this year.
  24. I think Vontae Davis is on his way to Minnesota for some advance scouting.
  25. Maybe I am getting old, but I just don't remember that. If you say it happened, I am sure it did, but I just don't remember.
