  1. Although there is no way to know 100%, I believe that Richie would have been just fine and performing at the same level as last year if McBeane did not initiate a pay cut. While on the team, Richie was a good citizen, teammate, and excellent player (pro bowl). The structure of the team really helped him. There was little reason to initiate a pay cut with Richie. The line (especially Dawkins), our QB, and Shady have suffered as a result of this and other decisions. It would have been nice to give our rookie QB a better offensive line - especially given how raw he is and how many assets we gave up to get him. I dare say that Josh and Shady would be much better off with an offensive line that included Cordy and Richie. Just my two cents.
  2. I agree. McBeane are responsible for the decisions they have made. I want to see how the rest of the year plays out, but it has not been pretty.
  3. As I said before, the defense of McBeane seems to be like the kid who killed his parents and is now asking for the court's mercy because he is an orphan. The fact is that we have been blown out a lot and in devastating fashion. There is a difference between losing competitively and getting your you know what kicked. McBeane better hope that Josh pans out because we certainly gave up a lot of assets to be able to draft him and did not do him any favors by the decisions that we made with offensive personnel etc.
  4. Wow. One is not allowed to reference one of the key decisions in recent years without being told to root for another team and "shut the !@#$ up"?!?!? Hmmm.
  5. I thought Beuerlein actually was pretty supportive of Josh. He seemed to qualify anything remotely negative with the observation that Josh is young and will get better. I thought he was accurate in his analysis and fair as well. Romo is a great analyst. No question. As for his comments re Josh, I think it would have been easier for anyone to be more effusive in their praise of Josh when analyzing yesterday's game compared to last week. Josh was much better . . . and it is to be expected that he would get better with more experience.
  6. Did McCoach take over the defensive play calling in the second half . . . for the Vikings?
  7. This is stunning and completely unexpected. Full marks to the coaches and players for a turnaround performance and taking advantage of the Vikings' mistakes. Josh is growing every week. I am more and more optimistic about his future. Wow. Just wow.
  8. $5K is too rich for my blood (pressure). Nevertheless, I wonder if all the guys who have criticized you for betting $5k on the Vikings would bet $5k on the Bills. Under no circumstances would I bet a significant amount of money on the Bills. Maybe that gives you some comfort. By the way, why didn't you get 16.5 points rather than 17?
  9. I always get a laugh about the fact that he refuses to respond to questions like "how are you" from callers (he lets Bulldog handle those), but becomes all discombobulated when a guest calls in and asks him the same question. Schopp seems fairly smart about some subjects but not as smart as he thinks he is.
  10. I like Sal, but take what he says about McBeane with a grain of salt. He is a bit of an apologist for them . . . .
  11. I don't bet that much money. Nevertheless, let me put it this way, I would never entertain the idea of betting for the Bills given the circumstances.
  12. As everyone knows, McCoach called the shots during that draft - not Whaley. Beane had not yet been hired, but McCoach made the decision to pass on Mahomes. We shall see whether that was a good decision. So far, I would say that it was not . . . especially given everything that McBeane did subsequent to this to even be in a position to draft Josh.
  13. You may just discombobulate some on this board with your logical summary of why Josh is not in the best situation.
  14. Wasn't he one of the guys that was rumored to allow Peterman to get killed as a protest?
  15. God forbid that anyone should criticize the sacred cows otherwise known as McBeane. Hey, we are just two games out of first place. What are these guys complaining about?!?
  16. That is a pretty good assortment of players. Well done putting this together.
  17. This is a valid point to the extent that people are counting on 2019 fee agency to save this team and in evaluating whether McBeane can be trusted to make the appropriate free agency decisions. Having said that, we will better be able to evaluate this issue after the season.
  18. I don't think McCoach is a racist, but we all heard the rumors about how the team viewed the benching of TT last year. In fact, there even were rumors that certain members of the offensive line purposely did not (how shall we say) put forth their best effort when Peterman played.
  19. Whether true or not, this is not a good look, and I presume that this is not part of the process.
  20. Ironically, the intent of my post was to contrast that with the play calling in just one half when the game essentially already was over and the Chargers had changed their approach.
  21. It is a great attitude to have. I hope you are right. It would be great if we can make a run. When the Bills lose, it affects for at least the following week. I also think that being a Buffalo fan (Bills and Sabres) builds character . . . .
  22. You are correct in my judgment. I would be shocked if the Pegulas were told anything like that or signed up for anything like that (or the way the season has gone thus far). I will be surprised if McCoach gets fired this year, but all bets are off if we continue to get blown out and/or the franchise is embarrassed.
