  1. By previous regime, you mean Whaley. The interesting thing is that both you guys could be correct. I agree that we gave up way too much to trade up for Sammy - especially given what they gave up to relative to what the Dolphins gave up the prior year - the Dolphins gave up less to move up more spots. Having said that, trading Sammy for what we got for him proved not to be a good deal. I hate it when my teams buy high and sell low.
  2. I just found a photo of McClappy in his element: McCoach
  3. I cannot wait for all of the bargains we are going to get this off season from quality free agents itching for a chance to play for McCoach with a history of blow out losses and wanting to pay NYS income taxes.
  4. I think that the Pegulas keeping both teams in Buffalo and giving each of them all the resources that anyone could ask qualifies them as good owners. Having said that, I think they made a mistake in firing Rex and allowing him to be undermined prior to that (with leaks etc.). I also was never excited about McCoach. Nevertheless, there were those around the league who thought McClappy was a hot candidate. What are the metrics of a good owner? Is Robert Kraft the best owner in the history of the NFL because he hired Billy B and they got lucky in the 6th round. Are the Maras bad owners now but were good owners when they won Super Bowls? Is Stan Kroenke a great NFL owner (now that the Rams are undefeated) but a horrible NBA owner? I will forever give the Pegulas the benefit of the doubt because I never have to worry about my teams moving from Buffalo. I also know that they have the best of intentions . . . even when I disagree with their decisions. If they moved, the Bills would be dead to me and we would not even be having this discussion because I would be doing something else.
  5. Whatever. If I recall correctly, we paid him the largest contract in the history of the NFL at that time.
  6. Terry and Kim Pegula, in my judgment, are the best owners in sports. Why you ask. Because I know that, for however long as they and their family own the Bills and Sabres, I do not ever have to worry about either team moving from Buffalo. Having said that, I would not have fired Lindy or Rex and disagreed with some other decisions. Nevertheless, unless your name is Sully or Bucky or a devotee of either, it is a complete overstatement to say that they are not good owners and that the likelihood of the Bills ever being good again is "non existent."
  7. Shady is wasted with this offensive line. Many of us (with names other than Beane and McDermott) predicted this past off season that our offensive line would be inadequate for our QBs and RBs. it turns out, many of us were correct.
  8. Rex also had a freaking personality. McCoach is McMilktoast
  9. We had to basically kidnap and then overpay Mario a few years back when we were not as much of an embarrassment around the league as we are now. From your lips to the quality FA's agents' bank accounts.
  10. As it turns out, Rex is a better head coach. I know that is not a popular opinion on this board, but I really don't care. Unfortunately, we are stuck with McClappy . . . at least for the time being.
  11. I am not a McCoach apologist by any stretch of the imagination (and I went to Church this morning). Having said this, I doubt the premise of this discussion. These guys traded AJ (mistakenly in my judgment) and AJ has a huge religious tattoo on his chest in case anyone on the coaching staff had any doubts about his faith.
  12. For an Arsenal supporter to agree with a Spurs supporter . . . there must be a compelling reason. You are correct sir. McBeane have created a. completely unwatchable team, and I am someone who will watch any football that is on television . . . from high school to college to the pros . . . and, of course, the EPL.
  13. I suspect that McBeane are going to have to overpay to replace those guys that they thought were overpaid.
  14. I think it would be extremely unfair to give up on a coach in less than two years. That would be idiotic and unfair. As for McCoach, if ownership decided to move on from McClappy, I suspect that I would not shed any tears. I suppose, if ownership were to fire McCoach, it would just be part of the "process."
  15. McBeane have sucked the life out of this team. Because there are so many blow outs and we are out of games so early, it is hard to have an emotional investment in McBeane's version of the Buffalo Bills. Don't get me wrong - I have been a Bills fan for decades and it is part of my DNA . . . and always will be. Nevertheless, I have become apathetic about McBeane's iteration of the Bills. I suspect that I am not alone. I suspect there are going to be a lot of empty seats as we get closer to the end of the year. It will be interesting to see what happens with season ticket renewals unless something positive happens with this team. McBeane better do something to recapture the passion of those of us who have stood by this team for so many years.
  16. I am sure that I am one of the few on this board who disagrees with you. As much as I love the Pegulas, it was idiotic to get rid of the most successful coach since Wade in less than two years (and after being undermined by leaks throwing him under the bus since before the second regular season and on the day of big games). Just my two cents.
  17. I think that we do not have to feel too bad for the guy after he got cut.
  18. This is absolutely correct. Sam Bradford was the last QB to hit the lottery before the rookie salary scale.
  19. Are the Raiders purposely going through their suffering prior to moving to Vegas? I feel sorry for the fans in Oakland.
  20. She has a few posts about the Bills.
  21. It did not end up working out well for the Bills and seemed to be gratuitous in my view.
  22. Who woke up and decided it was a good idea to initiate a pay cut with one of our few pro bowl players? Who decided to move heaven and earth to draft a very, very raw rookie QB who was not even first team in his own conference and then do basically nothing to make sure that he and the other QBs and RBs were adequately protected? They failed to adequately replace Richie or Wood, traded Cordy, and did not even make an attempt to keep another guy who had started for us and was scooped up by the Texans new GM who was with us last year. How is it that these guys thought it was a good idea to surround our QBs (especially our rookie QB) and our RBs with substandard talent around them (line and WRs)?
  23. 1) Wood was forced to retire (NFL career over) during literally the first week of the off season. McBeane, the janitor, the team cook, and anyone who follows the Bills knew Wood's career was over in plenty of time to address the position. 2) Who in their right mind would think it was a good idea to initiate a pay cut with one of our few pro bowl players? Apparently McBeane . . . and they have been paying for it ever since . . . as have our QBs and running backs. In my view, Richie would have been just fine within the structure of the team . . . as he convincingly proved during his entire time with the Bills these past few years.
  24. There was no reason to initiate a pay cut with one of our few pro bowl players. That was stupid and unnecessary. The Bills found out that Eric Wood's career was over during literally the first week of the off season. It is not like they did not have time to engage the "process" to replace him adequately. In the end, McBeane outsmarted themselves.
