and a player is guarantied at least half his home games tax free when playing for a Florida team by way of example. It is a huge advantage for teams in states such as Florida.

Bucky and Sully Blackballed By The Pegulas?
Peter replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bucky and Sully should know about atrocious and petty . . . they have made careers of being just that. Should it surprise anyone that they have burned the bridge . . . several times. It is funny that he mentions WGR. I listen to WGR often on the radio.com app during my commute etc. The guys on WGR seem to feel no hesitation to be critical. I am not sure what his point is. There clearly is some history. As I recall, Bucky completely embarrassed himself during a year end Sabres press conference. Bucky also wrote the article suggesting that Kim should essentially just be responsible for picking the drapes. Sully has been targeting Pegula for years now. Some may recall that Sully wrote that Pegula merely got lucky in making his billions and suggested that he was a racist when he made a joke at an event with Mayor Brown. Bucky and Sully made their own bed . . . . No one should feel sorry for them. -
It amazes me how some have their own narrative and just refuse to let anything get in the way of that. One of the narratives is that Rex was disorganized and that McCoach is very organized. I remember that Rex was vilified when there were only 11 guys on the field after one of the DBs got hurt and an assistant coach did not send in a replacement. The Bills, under McClappy, had 15 freaking guys on the field against the Pats last year and hardly anyone said boo. I have been watching football for decades (and used to play). Nevertheless, I have never seen 15 guys on the field. The narrative is still that McDermott is McOrganization. Rex could cure cancer but some here would complain that he took too long to do so. P.S. As I sit here on election day, I always have wondered if some of the vitriol is because Rex introduced Trump at a campaign rally. I noticed that there were some in the media that did not take too kindly to that and the tone here seemed to begin to change at that time. From my own perspective, when it comes to football or entertainment etc., I don't let people's political or personal views effect my judgment of them.

Peterman has the ability to be a serviceable back up QB provided his confidence has not been destroyed. He clearly was not ready to start last year against the Chargers and McCoach certainly should have been able to know that. Although the play at the end of the half was a bone headed play (and could have been a result of the criticism he has faced) I give Peterman credit for competing during the game (especially with an inadequate line, a non-existent running game, and WRs who did him no favors). If managed correctly, Peterman could be a decent back up and we know that he the type of guy who will be a good teammate whatever his role. I cannot help but root for the guy especially given his underdog status. We shall see if he can persevere without his confidence being destroyed.

You are correct sir. I keep on reading the argument (as the one from the poster below). Let's put things in perspective. The object of a team is to score more points than are scored against you. 2013 Points Against 24.3 (20th in NFL) 2013 Point Differential -49 (22nd in NFL) 2014 Points Against 18.1 (4th in NFL) 2014 Point Differential +54 (12th in NFL) 2015 Points Against 22.4 (only 4.3 points per game more than 2014 & 1.9 point per game less than 2013) (15th in NFL) 2015 Point Differential +20 (13th in NFL - only one back from 2014) 2016 Points Against 23.6 (only 5.5 points per game more than 2014 and .7 points per game less than 2013) (16th in NFL) 2016 Point Differential +21 (14th in NFL - two back from 2014) 2017 Points Against 22.4 (same as 2015) (18th in NFL) 2017 Point Differential -57 (21st in NFL) 2018 Points Against 26.8 (more than both 2013, 2015, and 2016) (26th in NFL) 2018 Point Differential -145 (Dead last in NFL through 9 games)

Bill's Offensive Line is the problem. Amazing stat.
Peter replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is all true. P.S. For some idiotic reason, they did wake up one morning and decide to initiate a pay cut with one of our few pro bowl players. That decision never made any sense and they ended up outsmarting themselves. -
It is ok. No worries. You are good guy. We just disagree on some things.

McDermott's Monday Segment With Schopp & Bulldog: 11/5/18
Peter replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, McCoach fired the former team chaplain before he hired this one. I wonder what causes someone to think it is necessary to fire the team chaplain when you take over a job. Perhaps paranoia. -
Rex has got among the best gigs going. He is getting paid to do what we do here for free. P.S. Rex also did not abandon the Bills as that prick Marrone did. P.P.S. I highly doubt that McCoach is going to get another opportunity to be a head football coach for an NFL team if and when the Pegulas ever decide to move on.
-
Thanks. I appreciate it. We can disagree but do so with respect. Thanks again.
-
Does it surprise you that someone might be a bit bitter after being fired and undermined prior to that. There is no doubt that he was all in with the Bills and Buffalo. There is also no doubt that he was pissed off that he was fired . . . as any of us would be. Your existence on this board does give one pause.

God bless.

Like that time when the Bills had 15 men on the field or set the franchise record for most penalty yards. . . . Oh no, I forgot again, those were both under Mr. McOrganized Sean McDermott.
-
Boo hoo. Some might say that I should report you for the personal attack but I really do not care what you think. God bless. For some reason, you forgot the bit about the Bills having among the most games lost due to injury in 2015 and 2016 or Mario going on strike or Gilmore refusing to tackle. You also forgot to mention the time when the Bills had 15 men on the field at the same time. Oh, no, that was under McCoach. Oh well. 2015 Adusted Games Lost Due to Injury 2016 Adusted Games Lost Due to Injury

Cheers.

I enjoyed that and the other Buffalo stuff that Rex knew and embraced 1000% more than I "enjoy" hearing McCoach utter his stolen "process" catch phrase.

I am not going to get into the Peterman discussion. As for Tasker, I realized that he is not exactly an unbiased observer when he started pushing the narrative that AJ refused to be a back up QB for the Bills. Not only did that not make any sense at the time he said that during their radio show, Beane even contradicted that recently.
-
Thanks for letting me know.
-
Then I missed the point because I thought that he was based on what others have said. Nevertheless, my thoughts on the "process" remain the same. I am glad that JW is not defending it.
-
Did it make sense to you to trade AJ (for a 5th round pick) when he was the only other guy who knew the offense? Did it make sense to surround the QB (any of them) with inferior talent? Did it make sense to have someone other than an experienced QB coach be the QB coach for our very raw rookie QB? Wouldn't have been wise to make sure that our very, very raw rookie QB had a good offensive line. Instead, McBeane made it worse by, for example, trading Cordy. While I agree that some in the Buffalo media can be lazy, it would be tough to argue that the QB situation was managed like a well oiled machine. P.S. The above is without even mentioning (until now) that McCoach outsmarted himself by trading the pick that could have been used to select Mahomes (which also would have saved us from giving up all of the assets we gave up to select a guy who was not even selected for first team Mountain West.

God forbid that anyone should have a freaking personality. The Clemson helmet was because his son went to Clemson and he had some fun with it. The dog biscuit thing was for charity and the Bills supported it. Rex is a sports fan as are most of us on this board. He went to a world series game in Cleveland that did not interfere with his responsibilities (and, as I recall, left early to get back to Buffalo). Oh my God!?! The horror. He also went to Sabres games . . . before they actually were good. God forbid! The Pegulas and the Bills embraced the fact that he had a personality and even had a web show prior to the second season. Rex also embraced Buffalo and the Buffalo Bills. I liked that. I also liked that he knew who Walt Patulski was and could reference him while he was having fun when he jumped in on a media conference call with the Patriots or knew who the hell Cookie Gilchrist was and could naturally recite - Lookie lookie here comes Cookie - without any prompting. Say what you will, the guy was all in on the Bills and Buffalo. We are now stuck with an unwatchable team that McCoach has sucked the life out of. If you have any doubt, take a look at the empty seats in the stands in December and the $7 tickets now. P.S. People also claimed that he disrespected Billy B and Brady. He had a funny way of doing that. Rex actually said that they probably were both the best in the history of the game.

Question regarding Darby fitting the defense: Isn't it fairly easy for a man to man cover corner to transition to a zone than the other way around?

Peter replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To address one of your points, even though I am not a fan of McCoach by any stretch of the imagination, it would be hard to conclude at the time of his hiring that the Pegulas made an embarrassing decision. McCoach (for whatever reason) was viewed as a hot head coaching candidate. Again, I disagreed with firing Lindy and Rex, and McCoach has sucked the life out of this team and me, but I cannot fault the Pegulas for making the initial decision to hire him. I suspect that they will not fire him in less than two years because that would just be repeating a stupid mistake. I do agree that McBeane have done nothing to instill confidence and not only is the team embarrassing it is unwatchable. As for the Pegulas, I give them every benefit of the doubt. As I mentioned in another post: Is Robert Kraft the best owner in the history of the NFL because he hired Billy B and they got lucky in the 6th round? Are the Maras now bad owners but were good owners when they won Super Bowls? Is Stan Kroenke suddenly a good NFL owner but a bad NBA owner? Good points. It still amazes me that McCoach decided to keep Crossman but somehow did not think that we should keep Kromer or Lal (or Ed Reed for that matter). -

As I said before, the Pegulas (in my judgment) are the best owners in the professional sports. Why you ask . . . because I know that they will keep my teams in Buffalo and I doubt any other owner would (more likely the Sabres but probably not the Bills). They also give both of their franchises all of the resources that anyone could ask for. Although I disagreed with their decisions to fire Lindy and Rex, I have no doubt that they make their decisions in good faith. I am not a big fan of McCoach by any stretch of the imagination but there were many in the league that thought he was a hot candidate.
