Where would we be if we still had Cogs and Wood?
Peter replied to formerlyofCtown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why did McBeane wake up one morning and somehow decide that it was a good idea to ask the one returning pro bowl lineman from that year to take a pay cut? -
Rating the Rookie QBs - What the Numbers Show
Peter replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am still rooting for Josh. He seems like a great kid. At the same time, he is pretty much what the scouting reports said about him. It would have been nice to see what he could have done with Incognito and Cordy and one or more of Goodwin, Woods, or Sammy. P.S. In another thread, someone posted EJ's stats over a similar number of games. They are very interesting in comparison to Josh's stats. I wonder how many people took conflicting views of each QB. -

I think his reaction amply demonstrates what he thought about the Bills insisting that he take a pay cut. -

Maybe you heard that they "deliberately" thought it was a great idea to try to get one of our few all pro players to take a pay cut. -

You are correct. Of course, it will be a matter of debate, but I believe: 1) What McBeane did to Incognito was completely gratuitous. Why target one of your few all pro players who had played so well and was integral to Dawkins' development?!? 2) Incognito would have acted just as he always had with the Bills within the structure of the team. He felt that he had been pushed into it. Pushing him to take a pay cut clearly backfired on the Bills. -
Again people..... This is the first year of a REBUILD
Peter replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The "rebuild" started the moment the Bills decided to trade the pick that they could have used to pick Mahomes . . . and not bring back (or even attempt to bring back) actual NFL receivers such as Woods, Goodwin, and Sammy. By "rebuild" I mean creating the McCoach and McBeane vision of the team. They made certain choices. We shall see how they pan out. -

Who thought it was a great idea to initiate a pay cut with one of our few all pro players? -

This is a good argument for . . . not initiating a pay cut for one of these guys and doing a better job of replacing the other (who you knew would not be coming back the first week of the off season). Cordy was a huge loss also. -
It is very sad to read this news. I enjoyed watching him play for the Bills. RIP.

Odd move. Gratuitous.

Jalen Ramsey doubles down on Josh Allen “trash” comments
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks. As I recall, all or most of that was him quoting rap lyrics. I am not aware of anyone who actually knows Josh and the person he is who thinks he is a racist or anything like that. As with the old tweets of Jack Eichel, I really hope that we do not get to a place where we are judged by the stupid sh*t that we say or do as kids - especially when the kid (and later adult) is not like that. -
Jalen Ramsey doubles down on Josh Allen “trash” comments
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anyone know to what he is referring when he says: "Everybody who knows me knows why I was so hard on him"? Is there a specific or personal reason why Jalen Ramsey does not like him (something other than Josh is a very raw QB etc.who may have been a reach)? -
Ed Oliver won't be a Buffalo Bill
Peter replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Major Applewhite applied the rule to all non-playing players (as has been reported), I have no problem with what he did. The coats are designed for someone with shoulder pads (i.e. players playing in the game) and there are limited number of them. If Applewhite did not apply the rule evenly, then I probably would agree with you. P.S. I think you may have missed my play on words. P.P.S. It did not help Oliver's cause to sit out for a game while "injured" but showing off before the game in a manner that would indicate that he is merely taking the day off. -

Week 10 Bills @ Jets first half thread
Peter replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on what I have seen so far, that certainly would be a defensible decision. -

I have no problem with the decision not to start Josh under these circumstances. -

Is icing the kicker while being up 31-0 at the end of the half part of the culture or the process? -

Did we really call a time out to ice the kicker after being up 31-0?????? -

Full marks to the team and coaching staff to get the team ready for the Jets. Dominating first half. -
You left out the bit about throwing Rex under the bus with leaks about him being fired and then firing him in less than two years notwithstanding that he was able to be the best head coach since Wade even though he was the head coach of one of the most injured teams in the NFL. As opposed to the current guy who is going to continue to suck the life out of this team while there will be general apathy among Bills fans as we see so many of them dressed up as empty seats or $7 tickets in December.

We clearly disagree. At least we both support the same two football teams . . . the Buffalo Bills and Arsenal.
-
When you throw out terms like "unmitigated disaster" that is just over the top and betrays a bias. It is fine to have disagreements. That makes life interesting. The criticism of Rex on this board, however, is over the top. Sadly, the Bills games became meaningless before the end of October this year.

. . . and still the most successful head coach since Wade even though he had nearly the most injured team on defense for each of the two years he was the head coach. At least he did not have 15 guys on defense or an historic amount of blow outs like the current guy . . . . Has anyone ever been caught with 15 defensive players on the field . . . other than McCoach
