  1. My Choice Pick # 8 - Reggie Bush Pick # 42 - Matt Lienart Pick #70 -D'Brick Pick #73 - Mario Williams Pick #105 - Vernon Davis Pick # 134 - AJ Hawk Pick # 143 - Huff Pick # 178 - Jimmy Williams Pick # 216 - Ngata Pick # 248 - Bunkley I think we can win with this draft
  2. I like Google, since if you add the ages of Marv and Ralph we are pretty close. What no Fiber pills? No walker Jokes? Wow, you all have really surprise me. Well done. I think going after the ages of Marv and ralph (Monty Burns and grampa Simpson) would have been easy, but you all took the high road, unlike my google.com thingie
  3. I know that tis will be come a joke thread, when it is all said and done. So go ahead. but nothing lame like Depends, and then don't tell me about promotion days where everyone gets their own depends and how you wouldn't have to miss any of the game. And/or how that warm feeling would be nice on the cold winter days, because I just don't want to think about that, so be creative. Unless you have a real one.
  4. why do I keep hearing that we have enough talent at Wr, after Evans we have no talent at WR. Price has one good eye, couldn't make it in Dallas last year. Davis-has been a bust in the pros, evan the game he tied the record for the longest catch (at 99 yards) he couldn't break the 100 mark (1 catch for 99 yards) Josh reed-improved last year, but was at the end of his first contract. Roscoe-he's 5'8" 160 pounds, he is not Hall, Smith or Moss-he is Roscoe and he is small, and he can not get off of the line. Fast Freddie-funny thing is he is neither, his name really isn't freddie and he is not fast. aikens-still looking for the talent, great special teamer. That said, I'd be happy with Stovall in the 3rd.
  5. -I think Addai could be a special player. And we can't kid ourselves, Mcgahee will not always be healthy and if he isn't we need a back up. Addai is the best none 1st rounder, that fits our 3rd down needs. Yes, it addresses a need. Shaud can not start and be productive, he lacks speed, he lacks the size to pick up a blitzing LB and his hands are less than good. Addai has great hands, can line up in the slot, is the best in this draft at picking up the blitz, has some size and has 4.4 speed. Ozymandius, your notion that you can waste a late round pick and get a good player is great, if you don't see a running back as a need maybe you don't remember Willis' history and what happens when he leaves the field. we tried that late rounder last year and it didn't work. Addai is the best 3rd down back not named Bush. -Bunkley, I am not the biggest bunkley fan, however i am also not the biggest Winston Justice fan. Bunkley has the ability to play the 3 tech, which is something we need, I have seen too many reports that we are targetting him to rule him out. And the title of the post had the words "no trade downs" in it. DT is a giant need. and I am hopefully that we can grab as many UDFA and get lucky with one. -3 picks addressing the lines, I think Fowler is a keeper, CV is still worthy of starting and when he leaves maybe Anderson can move to RG. Peters is a keeper as well. That leaves LT and LG, I don't think Winston Justice can play LT, at least not at the beginning of his career. I think he'll be an outstanding RT, but the coaching staff feel that he Peters is the RT. Colledge is a tough, mean LT with good feet, and is strong, stronger than Justice. So that leaves LG, I can't see starting to rookies on the leftside, let me repeat that Two Rookies on the Leftside. Maybe gibson, maybe Gandy, Maybe Anderson, Maybe Preston. All have played guard, and could compete for those duties. I think that Oline positions will be addressed in Free agency next year. And on defense, we have a 3 man rotation at DE, and a 3 man rotation at DT. again I'd like to see more depth. -Ozymandius, honestly. Price has 1 good eye. Parrish is 5'8" and can't get off the line. Evens is 5'10". Wilson...why even mention him. Davis has been a bust in the league and even NE couldn't make him better. jonathon Smith, fast freddie, the only person that he might be faster than on this team are the linemen, and not jason peters. And reed, who once again has been shot into the starting line up, where he proved he shouldn't be. So you don't see a reason to draft a 6'5 225 pound WR with good hands and 4.5 speed. We are going to have a very hard time finding someone to throw to. I mean lee is good, but he isn't a every down go to guy like Moulds was once. I am not saying Marshall is, but in the 5th tell me someone else who would be a great addition rather than just saying it was a bad pick. I can't wait to see you attempt at this, that is if you are willing, rather than just bashing others.
  6. 1-Brodrick Bunkley-not because I think he is better than Ngata, I think Green Bay will draft Ngata. Bunkley is the 2nd best, and Tripplett could play the nose and Bunkley the 3. Starting Front 4 so far Denney-Tripplett-Bunkley-Schobel 2-Joseph Addai-I think he might be the most underrated player in the draft. We need a better back up to McGahee, He could also make as a great 3rd down back, he has very good hands (all LSU RBs do it seems) he is very sound at picking up the blitz, and he had the 2nd best 40 time at the combine amoung RBs. and at 5'11" 215, he is not a midget. 3a-Daryn colledge-since Marv and Dick have already figured Peters as a RT, Colledge is the only choice, I believe he is the 2nd best LT prospect in the draft, behind D'Brick and ahead of Eric Winston. I consider Justice a RT, who could be moved over to LT, but as it stands he'll start on the right side. I think that Colledge would be a steal in the 3rd. And if he struggles he can be moved to LG. reminds me of a more athletic Logan Mankiss (Mankins). 3b-Alan Zemitis-is falling for whatever reason, has great size for the cover 2, and could be moved to FS in the future, but as a rookie he could challenge Mcgee for duty and be a huge upgrade to Greer. Plus he is from Rochester. 4-Anthony smith-Safety from Syracuse. Not the greatest timed speed, but everytime I've seen him play he is around the ball, see the field maybe only 2nd to Huff. and will clean your clock. Potential to move him to FS once Vincent retires. could start at SS. 5-Brandon Marshall-a red zone target, I think young QBs struggle when they don't have large targets, Marshall has an TO type body, good hands and 4.5 speed 5b-fred Mutua-Left early from USC program, but has lots of that evil word, upside. 6-Scott Ware-safety from USC, the other one, 6'2 215, mostly for special teams but could challenge. 7a-Connor Hughes-Kicker from Virginia, might beat out Lindell, or just send him a message, % in college was 84, had a bad junior year or it would have been higher, has made 5- 50 yarders 7b ingle Martin-QB from powerhouse furman, strong arm, athletic, his potential is high, could one day be trade bait, after he spends some time in Europe. we did not address LB, because I am hoping that Spikes and that Posey in his final year proves himself, or that one of the other LB beats him out.
  7. Hawk has a good chance of falling, not because he isn't a great athlete and could be the best and most sure thing in this draft, but the depth is strong, and I can see reasons for teams like green Bay (Ngata, Huff,) SF (Davis, Huff) and Oakland (young, Ngata, Huff, davis) to let him by. If that is the case I could also see us letting him slip.
  8. I'd rather get one super star, and several good players, than two very good players and several good players. it's a two year plan, next year we might have more than 25 million in cap room to spend on the top free agents. lets get someone that is great (if possible) and then role players and good starters. We can not rebuild everything in this draft.
  9. Craig nall....4 words for ya- the next Jake delhomme!-Cajun, and NFL europe. add to that the fact he played behind Farve, see: Brunell, Brooks, Hasselbeck, and Warner. I mean what else does that man have to do to win the spot...Sure outplaying Holcomb and Losman would be a good way. I didn't mention Jake played behind Brooks, even more proof. odds are not Holcomb, we need to see if the future is on this team or if we'll need to address it next year in the draft. So I expect Holcomb to be traded before the beginning of the year to whale's vagina....for those that have not seen the movie, to the chargers, or new orleans, since there are still questions about Brees' shoulder. for a 1st
  10. If I could only think of other ways to get more picks, it should be known that this was done with a bit of sarcasm.
  11. handle 1(10) because we traded down to cards who are looking for a future QB, after constant talks with the vikings (not really but lets pretend) we pick up a 3rd rounder from the cards (they feel the pressure) to move back two spots, Ngata or Bunkley will still be there. 1b-after the trade with seattle where they give us their first and 3rd for Clements we select Chad Greenway, I feel he'll fall after less than great 40 time. 2nd choice would be carpenter or howard. 2-Darnell Bing-not an exciting pick, but fills SS needs. 3a-Jonathon scott, Jeremy Trueblood or Andrew Whitworth-any one of them could play Left or right for us depending on Peters 3b-Claude Wroten, Dusty Dvoracek or Mahelona, if we select Bunkley he is more of a 3 tech, and we'd need more help up front on the nose in Mahelona, if we select Ngata, hopefully one of those trouble makers will fall to us, because they are more 3 tech than nose, we need a rotation. 3c- Alan Zemaitis-falling CB from Rochester, NY, might not fill Clements spot, however I feel Vincent could be moved back, and either Baker or Zemaitis could handle the FS spot. 3d-Jerome harrison-quality back up to McGahee 4-Kevin Boothe-smart, strong interior lineman. 5-Brandon Marshall-good sized WR. 5b-Guy whimper-OL project, has good feet, and is athletic 6-Anthony Mix-rare size/speed combo 6'4" 240, could play WR or TE 7a-Ingle Martin-since one of the three will be traded or released prior to the beginning of the season, we'll need that 3rd string project QB we can send to NFLE 7b- Clint Ingram-good athlete, could play any of the LB spots. could be future to ILB. -sure some would question starting that many rookies on defense, but going into next year, we would have a great cap number and lots of young talent
  12. Trade him to the seahawks, they lost Dyson and will look to addd a CB in the draft, their pick is high, but we could also collect a 3rd in next years draft. seattle have already had a former Bills' pro bowl CB named nate, I hope the results are the same if the trade is done. I like clements, but if he doesn't want to play for Buffalo then let him go, via trade
  13. McCargo is a little overrated, remember he was playing with two first round picks. that takes a lot of heat off of him, plus he has had foot issue. Put claude Wroten or even Harris into that spot and I'd be happier But I do like the Martin pick.
  14. it looks like Ourlads and Bunkley's agent have spoken, and have created some sort of deal. How do you say teammates voted him MVP, and then bash him? The numbers don't lie he had 61 tackles as a senior, you can't run at him. I've seen Bunkley play and I've seen Ngata play, Ngata controls the line, he can hold off double teams. Bunkley can't. I've seen Bunkley pushed 5 yards down field by one blocker. Yes, Bunkley is quicker, but if you read that artical about Anderson, we need a nose guard, the 3 is the athlete (sadly Tripplett). how does one have 6 blocked kicks without being a good athlete? Many people sas the same things about Shaun Rogers coming out of college, yet he seems to have done well. if Marv wants good people, it should be noted that Bunkley was arrested for stealing from Wal Mart in 2003. GuessWhozBack21, i will take that bet. Bunkley vs Ngata.
  15. Wells fits that big pounding running back that we need. And this draft doesn't have any late rounders that can do that.
  16. I know that Nate will end up a Bill, but if for some reason they feel they have to trade him, Seattle needs a CB, and they have a very high 1st that would get him, I think they would have to add a 4th or 5th to it. another former bill corner named Nate went to seattle and was never heard of again. But we all know that he will be Bill.
  17. I don't get where people feel that Bunkley is better, yes he runs a 40 0.2 faster, how much faster is that, ready gostop. a 340 pound man going 5.1 will hurt more than a 300 pound man going 4.9. GuessWhozBack21 where do you get the idea that Bunkley is strong enough to play nose in a 3-4, linemen get their movement from their legs not arms. Bunkley is very top heavy and doesn't have the lower body to get movement. He also can't handle double teams Yes he does 7 more reps at 225 than Ngata, how many 225 guards or centers are there, and why would we need to move him that many times. Yes bunkley looks better in a uniform, but Ngata will be productive in any defense, and can fit any defense, he is not Sam Adams, or even shaun rogers he is a faster quicker, version of them.
  18. Moorehead would be ideal in a 3-4, if anyone shoud offer him a contract it would be Pitt. Sands looks the part. I don't think our problems will be fixed via RFAs, even slightly.
  19. 1-Haloti Ngata DT, Ngata over Bunkley and here is why. First I agree that Bunkley is better suited for a cover 2, however Ngata is better at all defenses, besides mentioned cover 2. I know we are running a cover 2, however, how long will this last? we have tried just about every possible defense known to man in the last 10 year. what makes us think that the cover two is what we are going to stay with. Ngata, can be a very good interior lineman in any defense, he has great quickness for his size. and when we switch to a 3-4 in 4 years, we won't have to look for a true nose. 2-Davin Joseph LG, good athlete, likes to compare himself to Ruben Brown, which I am fine with. would start as a rookie over Bennie Anderson. can make all of the pulls and get to the 2nd level better than any other guard in this draft, also could compete for LT 3b-Andrew Whitworth, RT-tough, strong, and average athletically. At the moment I would pencil him in at LT assuming that we stick with Peters at RT. 3b-Anthony Smith-good athlete, covers well, good hitter, and very football smart. Could be our starting SS or FS. 4-Jason Avant-after his 4.8 forty time he is falling a little, also has a cast on hand, which might be the reason behind the bad time, runs great routes and would be a steal here. 5a-Brandon Marshall- 6'5" 230 pound WR, has had some big games for UCF, and has play defense too, could make the team on special teams 5b-Josh Lay-corner from Pitt, Ty Laws cousin, regardless, good size, long arms, runs very well, has great breaking ability. Ideal for cover two 6. Antoine Bethea-small school DB, could go earlier, very athletic and could compete for any DB position 7a-William Kershaw-OLB went to Maryland, Maryland seems to be getting their players very ready for the NFL. Could compete for LOLB, or special teams 7b-Damien Rhodes-SU running back, good hands, average blocker, could compete for 3rd down back role, and if he could do that as a 7th rounder, that is impressive.
  20. Giants | Team stepping back from Arrington? Sun, 9 Apr 2006 09:10:24 -0700 Chris Harry, of the Orlando Sentinel, reports the New York Giants reportedly took a step back from free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) last week. They reportedly took a step back when agent Carl Poston threw out numbers in the seven-year, $54 million range, with a signing-bonus demand of $14 million.
  21. he's one of those players that half of the board will bash, however if he became a bill they would love him and say they wanted him from the start. 7 year 54 million and a 14 million signing bonus is what he is asking for, a little too rich for my blood, but is he an upgrade to Posey?...WITHOUT QUESTION, is he worth that kind of money, maybe not, health is a question mark. But a 5 year 26 million dollar contract and a 8 million dollar signing bonus seems more reasonable for a player that is 2 years removed from the pro bowl.
  22. You can not trade this high of a pick for a 2nd rounder this year and then a 1st next, first off no, 2nd no. the 8th pick, HAS TO GET US A STARTER, even if we trade down, we have to to get a starter....I am sorry I yelled. Plus lets say it's a 49ers that we do this deal hoping that we get a better than 8th for next year. Don't you think that the 49ers would improve with two top 10 picks. This draft is too strong, and it is unclear how next years looks-(right now), we could throw out names, but they still have to play the season. Do the best thing for this team this year, if we trade down, don't go to far back, and get an S load of picks. one or two great player could be had in this draft.
  23. I like kevin Johnson he had some good years with the browns. Peerless has an eye injury, or some medical issues with his eyes. Dez White is a physical WR, I believe he played for Dick, and our coach when he was with the bears. Is david boston still availible? I like jason Avant in this years draft, I think he compares well to Boldin, great hands very physical, and runs great routes. just ignore his 40 time, like the Cards did with Boldin and get him with the last of of our 3s or 4
  24. Not sure if you really want to brag about UCF. it is barely better than Valencia.
