  1. I don't think he's going to find a lot of high payers, every team knows who his teammates are, 2 all pros and a third you could call a 2nd team all pro, I think highly of Hughes, I'd offer him a 6 year 42 million dollar deal with 21 guaranteed, with the promise that if he gets a better deal he returns to buffalo to give us a matching chance. I am hope that Marone goes to Atlanta who might be the most desprite to sign him.
  2. I still feel Cutler's best days (yes, playing football) are ahead of him. If this defense can remain, the line improved (Shanahan's Offensive game plan could do that alone) and Cutler, this team could win the afc east or at very least wild card.
  3. I am not convinced that Cyril isn't going to be a starter, I think he will turn out to be a more than serviceable starter, most linemen struggle as rookies, I think he had as many good moments as bad. In the right offense I think he will be excellent.
  4. There is so much running back talent coming out, I like yeldon he is bigger and runs harder than Fred Jackson, who I'd make a running back coach when he's done. The defense is fine. Bill, are you Hughes agent? 50,000,000/5 is really high for what the rest of the league might view as a 1-D pass rusher. With Justin Houston and to some degree Hardy getting all the pass rushing attention, I would offer him a 4 year 34 with 17 upfront...if he wants to shop, let him. Searcy is a keeper no doubt about it. Wynn too. I love spikes the attitude he brought to this defense was great. Selfish fun football desire: after seeing him block on special teams (see cj spillers return) try him at fullback too. I'd give him a 4 year 14 million deal as a part time ILB and FB. Get me a QB! I think I might be the only on this board who is pro cutler, I've watch him play enough to know that he is a top 10 QB talent. In the right offense (Shanahan, kubiak) with a good running back (yeldon) and a guard or two in free agency (broiling) the offense will be good maybe great, I was looking over kubiak career...he's made offenses work with undrafted free agents in Foster, career back ups (Forsett)and late picks like Davis...3 different places. He might be the logical choice.
  5. And if not for weird voters who put jj watt as a DT, Kyle Williams would be a 2nd team all-pro. Also, let me get this straight, Spiller was set to make 4+ million in 2015, but has elected to option out? Enjoy that 2 year 2.8 million dollar contract waiting for you Spiller, you've done us a favor.
  6. Doomed oh I mean domed...buffalo becomes a more attractive place to play and indoor stadium gives the city/state/pegs a place to use for other events.
  7. What about two head coaches? Could that be done? Schwartz and Shanahan, obviously one handles offense, one defense in coordinator roles but they are both head coaches. Give Schwartz a deserved raise and Shanahan the same contract. We've seen dual directors in movies, why not this?
  8. I've concluded that Solomon Wilcots hates Buffalo, add to his stupidity and he is becoming someone I hate. He has it all figured out, players "defect" from Buffalo, because they don't want to play here. Not because buffalo didn't want to make Nate Clements the top paid CB in the league or Winfield, he has also said several times that Sam Adams (who he believes we drafted) also came and went because he didn't like Buffalo, not because he was at the tail end of his career and Buffalo was a chance to win again. And that Polian didn't want to come back because we are such a train wreck...Polian wanted to come back in an advisor role, at his age he didn't want to be responsible for a lot, the job description changed, he decided not to return. I wish Vic would have called him out yesterday.
  9. not on that list, Jerry Hughes, we view him as elite. I think he's exceptional, however not elite. A good GM/numbers guy could get Mario's cap hit to lower and sign Hughes on a 4 year 28 million dollar deal, 13 upfront.
  10. I was thinking about this earlier, since most coaches like to work with guys they know, who would be the logical choices for OC? Buffalo has fired two of them as head coaches, malarkey and chan, so they're out. And if Schwartz just refuses and leave, I really don't want to hire Jim Haslett as our DC
  11. I mentioned it in a previous post, I'd be for it if we were also getting cutler, he was pro bowl QB when MS was his coach, I think they were pretty close too
  12. I thought yeldon was taller, I like him, I think he will be a better pro than college player.
  13. Yes I am aware, but had we not traded for MW we probably wouldn't have traded SJ and the pick from SJ was essentially nullified by the brown trade...that's my connection one leads to another.
  14. I've been wondering if SF was going to actually keep him, I know a lot of people here didn't care for him but I think the mike Williams/Bryce brown/Stevie Johnson thing was an all around failure, I have to believe he would have been a bigger factor than William or Brown
  15. I guess that's what really separates men from women, I wouldn't have noticed either...also I am sure her horribleness was justified, because she's attractive (this was ten years ago, so a young EA)
  16. My current girlfriend shared an office area with her while they were working for the Tampa bay lightning, she referred to her as a horrible human with bad feet. So there's that.
  17. Yeah it's all about options...do we have anyone better? Is there anyone available that's better? With a good defense/special teams how much better would we be?
  18. He doesn't have the resume, Alex smith played full seasons and was a winner before the trade.
  19. Going into next year, RB and offensive line are the two biggest needs on offense. If everything is correct salary cap-wise, Mike Williams' release and the assumed release of pears, we should have quite a bit of money to play with. Once officially allowed to play, I'd love to get Adrian Peterson! I think he will be next years comeback player of the year. Get a couple linemen in the draft and maybe a Clint Bolings, bring in additional offensive coaching help...we shouldn't be thinking wild card we should be thinking AFC east champs
  20. Urbik is a good back up, being able to handle the three interior position, Glenn showed up to camp out of shape, he looked sloppy all season, he is so gifted that despite this he was still our best lineman, he's nearing the end of his 1st contract, I'd ask him to show up at around 320 to 325, I fear his weight was around the 345-360 range all season. I feel the same about Richardson, I've seen him man handle people, I am talking about a guy a legendary MLB and brother of an NFL executive compared to Larry Allen, maybe the greatest guard I've ever seen play. I think he's starting material, I don't think he's ready, he needs to get lighter, his junior year he was superior to his senior, between the two years his weight increased. Henderson is a freak, he just needs to refine his footwork, he's athletic and strong but his footwork is lacking, I know it will be addressed. I can't agree with John more about chandler, how great would it be to have two TEs, I personally like Chandler, the giant lumberjack creates match up issues and is the first to greet teammates after they score.
  21. I've always been all for it, good for Rochester, good for the new owners...really no downside to it.
