And game planning means that you pick the subset of those plays to bring into a game that you think has the best chance to exploit what the opposing defense does.

You're close. That guy actually remote controls the plane. Here's a picture of him doing it:

I think you're remembering the traffic copter. There's only one or two flyovers each year. The playoffs usually have them too but that's ancient history around here.
-
The F-16 flyovers are WAY more impressive then the C-130's. They rock the stands when they go by.

Plus Easley basically only played 1 year in college too. So he was pretty raw when he came here and hasn't had much playing time here either. So the practice squad is a good place for him to land. Given him more experience in our system could be the key to him becoming an NFL caliber player. Right now he's still just in the "potential" category.

Finding a Franchise QB

Actually, if you went back further than '95 you probably could've had the Lions at forty-something. -

Quick question about parking at the Stadium
UpperDeck replied to Gordio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think all of lot 5 is Disney style, only the half closer to the stadium. The half towards Soutwestern looked like it was still a free for all. -
Agreed, and given a tie I would go with the guy with the most potential. I think that's Easley. But I won't cry if we let him go either.

Annoying "NFLSpeak". Mine is "no question".

"I have to look out for my family" from a contract holdout. Because the millions of dollars per year he's currently making won't sustain his family. -
I totally agree. Plus with Potter kicking off who cares who the gunners are for kickoffs? You still need good ones for punts but I'd rather have someone that's capable of playing the first 3 downs than one that's good on 4th down. And if he can make the catch on 3rd down then you don't even reach 4th.

Of course you all know that the other half of the page that they conveniently left out was for a free 6" sub if they scored 20 points or more. -

Lines to get in / stadium parking info
UpperDeck replied to Billy in 4C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was in lot 5 and they did the Disney parking in the lots closer to the stadium but I believe the ones closer to the road were still "fend for yourself" open parking. As to grilling in the Disney lots, the parking spaces are quite a bit longer than a normal spot. There is about a half car length of extra space. In fact, when I pulled into my spot the attendant walked over and asked if I wanted to setup my tailgate in front or back of my car. When I said the front he had me back up and let me know when I was back as far as I could go. In general I don't like the idea of Disney style parking. I like to choose my spot for various reasons, easy exit, who's next to me, etc. But I have to admit it was much easier than canvassing for a spot while circumventing tents and large groups of people standing around them. I think I'll do the Disney lots when I'm not meeting someone. Hopefully they can get the right mix of Disney vs. open parking so most people get what they want. -

I find it hard to believe they thought the 5 was the goal line but you never know with replacement refs. My take was that they thought Brad Smith had caught the ball and stepped into the end zone. If you watch the replay Smith is running right next to Martin when the ball comes down. So the ref on the goal line on the sideline away from the camera (visitor's side) had to think he caught it. Smith then continues to the goal line and tip toes to keep from stepping on it but that ref clearly sees him step on it. He had to be the one who made the bad call. There's still no excuse for the call. The refs should've talked it over and told the errant ref that Martin had the ball and had downed it on the 4. I'd chalk it up to the lack of familiarity with each other between the members of the referee team. -

I've been a season ticket holder for over 20 years and have tried private lots and the stadium lots. I prefer the stadium lots because it does seem like there is more action there. I'm also a lot 5 advocate. I stay until the end and have little trouble getting out of there. If you're leery about the rowdies just be sure to pay attention to who you're parking near. A large 20-something old crowd with tents could be a sign of possible "over exuberance". Just keep driving until you find a more family friendly area. One thing to note about private lots is that you have a longer walk. Not a big deal in good weather but a PITA if it's raining or freezing cold and windy. By the way, I'm sure Hammer's lot is great too since you can meet up with regulars. I have never parked there so I can't comment on it. But there are plenty of regulars here that speak very highly of it.

That was Lou Saban. Hank Bullough had the sail taken out of his wind and should in no way be confused with Saban.

What were the Best Seats at a Event Personally

I didn't mean to question what you said, I just didn't know SRV had played that one. I didn't know who he was at the time. Oh, and thanks for the link. On a related note, one day I was walking to my next class and saw a band playing in the courtyard near the student center so I stopped to listen to a couple songs. There was no crowd around them at all, just a handful of people stopping to listen then moving on. I thought, 'not bad'. The band was 10,000 Maniacs. -

Nice job Rocky. I especially like the last part "look about the same as all of his other throws". -
Well, if its supposed to be an authentic game jersey then I guess the consumer gets it too. But I really don't like the looks of it.
