I haven't been alive that long, so as I said I don't remember it. And the Chinese didn't attack US. We decided to fight them in other peoples' country. Which is a pretty cowardly thing to do when you think about it. On the other hand, since we lost, I guess it's better we lost over there than over here.

Quick Liberals! Fire up the attack machine! RACISM!

?? He looks pretty white to me too. So who's supposed to be insulted? Black folk because he said that white people were running the banks? (I think the Freddie Mac or Fannie May guy was black)? Or white folks because he said bad things about white people, of which he is one? Must be a slow news day for your side. This is a yawner. -
Record Flooding in North Dakota - where's Obama?

You are SUCH a hardass! Those people in NO should have just grabbed the contents of their wall safes, climbed into their Land Rovers and driven to their summer homes up North! Right?! -
Oh let them have their little fun.

Clinton (Obama) blame the US for the cartal drug wars
blzrul replied to VABills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The rest of the world isn't next to Mexico. We are. The rest of the world isn't as uniformly paranoid about drugs. We are. And unfortunately yes, criminals will always come up with something else. If there was no demand for the drugs in America, these folks wouldn't be killing each other to meet it. Simple as that. Oh yeah, they'd still be at each other - but not like this. -

hmmm well, I wasn't alive during Prohibition but it seems to me that there was a mob war going on then over the bootleg liquor market. Of course in those days they just shot each other. When Prohibition ended...it set the mob back a bit, they had to go back to the basics until they realized in the 1960's/1970's how lucrative illegal drugs could be. If the market in America dried up...would we see those drug cartel wars? Doubtful. -

Doesn't DC sit on a major fault? -
The UK still owes the US a bundle for those pesky world wars. Maybe they should pay up.

So what do you expect the President to do? Show up and fill sandbags? You wingnuts slam the President for "doing nothing", which it turns out isn't true. Do you think doing something is free? Sending troops - $$$ Sending national guard - $$$ Sending food - $$$ Sending water - $$$ etc. How about you brilliant people explaining to the rest of us how you deal with a disaster WITHOUT SPENDING A DIME? Yeah. Let's hear it. -
The Queen has enough damned money to bring the whole world out of recession...I think only Lord Spam's family (Vesty) has more in the UK.

Record Flooding in North Dakota - where's Obama?

Oh and by the way North Dakota has been declared a federal disaster zone as the rising Red River continues to cause statewide flooding. North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven said the declaration, announced early Wednesday by U.S. President Barack Obama, means the federal government will pay 75 per cent of state and local government costs to fight the flood. -

"A cracker is someone who breaks into someone else's computer system, often on a network; bypasses passwords or licenses in computer programs; or in other ways intentionally breaches computer security. A cracker can be doing this for profit, maliciously, for some altruistic purpose or cause, or because the challenge is there. Some breaking-and-entering has been done ostensibly to point out weaknesses in a site's security system. The term "cracker" is not to be confused with "hacker". Hackers generally deplore cracking. However, as Eric Raymond, compiler of The New Hacker's Dictionary notes, some journalists ascribe break-ins to "hackers." A classic story of the tracking down of a cracker on the Internet who was breaking into U.S. military and other computers is told in Clifford Stoll's The Cuckoo's Egg." Gotta love Google. -
Going back to the 80's huh? That'll make the wingnuts happy as they can reminisce over the happy days of St. Ronnie...and if there are new jobs being created then it looks like the Obama stimulus package is working. :-)

The photos in the newspapers, with all those folks in flannel wearing masks, belie that statement. Where the heck could they go - they're not equipped to function properly in civilization.
-
Hmm now that you mention it Jindal 2012.

You mean the earmarks in the 2008 budget that he'd wanted reworked, but wasn't? He all be pronounced the tax unconstitutional. It won't get out of the Senate and if he does, he won't sign it.

Good point. So if 3-4 airplanes had crashed, and if even one of them was an airliner, there would presumably open up a few jobs for people on the ground (unless they were under the airliners).
-
hee hee.. So Bobby J, I am sure that you don't give a rat's ass down there in LOU-zee-anna about a volcano but at the very least the citizens of Alaska are probably happy there's a volcano monitoring system....as are any passengers in airplanes who might otherwise drop from the sky when they fly into an [unmonitored, and unreported] cloud of ash. What an ash.

Probably the same way your hallucinations find their way into typeface.

Well I don't recall Russia or China attacking us recently so I guess I won't worry too much.
-
hmmm now there is a loaded question. I actually don't watch DVDs....I might Tivo something though. I do own Amazon Women on the Moon ... and Deadliest Catch Seasons 1-2. :-)

I certainly can understand why you think I am so all-powerful but I assure you I don't even know who those people are. I got a nice fat bonus myself in December. Not only did I keep it but I spent most of it. Ditto the bonuses I got in February and March.

Well it didn't take long for that old bathroom mentality to come out. It's only leap of faith for ill-informed morons. But there are a lot of you out there and who am I to deny you your little pleasures? The teleprompter thingy is funny and I'll bet President Barack Hussein Obama would agree, he being an extremely intelligent, well-educated and articulate man with a good sense of humor, often quite self-deprecating. And THAT is very very very refreshing. Far be it from me to dissuade the world from laughing at America. America certainly deserves it. Yuk, yuk, yuk.

Did they grow a conscience? Or maybe they're just trying to avoid tar, feathers, and a splintery rail.

Yes, of course my brilliance would make you feel stupid. I don't blame you.
