  1. Now that's RICH. Really RICH. Silly me. One dude represents the entire movement...if it's a wacky lefty. It never goes both ways. It's the Republicans' movement. He's their nut. If it's good, it's theirs. If it's bad, it's still theirs. Fact is I don't recall reading anywhere about any Obamamaniacs threatening to wipe out humanity. Doesn't mean they aren't out there I suppose. But if they are they probably know better than to let a few million people in on the secret. But in any case, I am glad this guy has been apprehended. One less nutcase on the loose.
  2. Tsk, tsk, tsk. All that anti-government/anti-Obama sentiment stirred up has turned this Teabagger into a Terrorist. So I guess Newtie, Armey, Dick and his buddiess succeeded in stirring up some good old fashioned anti-American hatred. In OKC no less. And, who needs waterboarding when there's Twitter? I thought only the PPP wingnuts were dumb but I guess it's more widespread than that. On second thought this is so outrageous I wonder if it's an urban myth? It didn't come up on snopes at all...
  3. I hear they will have several daily nonstops to the Trent Lott International Airport in whatever freaking redneck state he represented....
  4. I wouldn't care to see anyone waterboarded, not even that vile man. If he doesn't get what's coming to him here, he'll get it hereafter, so I am not going to worry about it.
  5. And that's the crux of this matter. The United States of America deemed waterboarding "torture" ... until WE decided to do it.
  6. It's very un-American to criticize the American dream.
  7. He is also not paying child support. Dropping off diapers doesn't cut it. Judge Judy would annihilate them both. Maybe they should go there....
  8. Actually, not. I was never interested in beauty pageants either as an observer or participant. And I am actually considered to be pretty. Short, but pretty. And I'm smart enough to know that beauty doesn't last forever. So if the point of a beauty pageant is to judge beauty, fine. But don't try to "upgrade" it by pretending that other stuff counts. Because if talent or brains would possibly make up for a shortcoming in the beauty department, then we'd see more Susan Boyles on the runway then wouldn't we? I am sure you are just a fine hunk yourself ...of what, I can't say. And couldn't care less.
  9. I was happy when Raygun bombed Tripoli. I was happy when Bush bombed Afgoonistan. Otherwise - the "wars" we've fought since WWII have not had my support (not that I was alive for all of them). Now what ALL this has to do with idiots and their teabags is beyond me. They have no credibility and now that it's coming out who all is behind it, the idea that this is a populist movement is going up in smoke.
  10. Natalie Mains expressed her beliefs, as I recall, and was pilloried for it. Double standard? Maybe. Dick Cheney is also expressing his beliefs and people are leaving him alone. I wonder what would have happened had Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale gone after Raygun less than 3 months into his administration? hmmmmm I don't watch pageants but this doesn't offend me. I don't agree with her but nothing I've read makes me think that she was vicious in any way. She has a belief, and she expressed it. These pageant people had to know that no matter what she said, people would be offended. It wasn't really an appropriate question for a beauty pageant.
  11. Just because it's the internet doesn't make it safe. Au contraire. Last weekend in a Seattle suburb, some guy found a mint Honda Accord on Craigslist. He called and talked to the "owner", a woman. She agreed to lower the price to $3600 IF he paid cash, that evening. And she said he had to come late, around 11 pm, giving some excuse for it being so late. Guy shows up, with his mom. The "owner" has a guy with her who whips out a hammer, clobbers them both and takes their cash. I have never had a bad experience with people I've met over the web (except the occasional wingnut here with a stick up his butt); however I don't assume that just because someone is "web-savvy" they're also a nice person. This is a very tough lesson, obviously for the victims, but for anyone else who thinks that "stranger danger" is something only 5-year olds have to worry about.
  12. And this proves...what? People with liberal persuasions don't sit on their ass and watch TV, while wingnuts do? Surprise, surprise. Come on Bill.
  13. I certainly wasn't on this board, and I am not sure what "occupying" Iraq has to do with all this? Did your head explode or something, rendering you even less comprensible than usual?
  14. That you are an expert on sh-t does not surprise me at all. I expect it comes from years of rolling in it. Of course that doesn't address the question of what it was about the addition $37b in Obama's bailout that y'all hated. The $750b Bush bailout = ok, but $787b Obama = outrage. Which just proves that this whole teabag thing was NOT a protest against govt control and spending in general, it WAS anti-Obama. So it's just another G(n)OP effort to contribute nothing in the way of solutions to a problem when they helped create.
  15. The real issue is why these stupid pageants still include a gate for intelligence since, when it's all said and done, it's a BEAUTY pageant...not BRAINS...not INTEGRITY...not TALENT...just superficial, fleeting physical beauty. I am sure if any one of these young ladies showed up at your front doors (poor things) the first thing to cross your mind would not be the quality of her character. So trying to fool ANYONE into thinking that the ability to play the violin or speak sagely to current events has an impact on winning, is just another insult to the people who watch these things. (The contestants are already very aware.)
  16. Watch out, I insulted you in another thread not long ago. Maybe nore than one.
  17. The typical right wingnut response is that I walked 473 miles each way uphill in the snow to a school whose tuition I financed by selling blood and cleaning out Porta Potties and I am DAMNED well not gonna help some snotnosed kid ease his way through school....whaddayathink this is a welfare society? Of course I am not a right wingnut. I rode a school bus actually. I did pay my way thru 3 college degrees though, no loans and only two brainiac scholarships...however I digress. (and it looks like you might be a little hypersensitive about that already. Why don't you pose your hypothesis as a poll and let people vote on it? You probably have some thoughts. If you don't, this is the last place you're gonna get any that will net you an A or anything close to it. Assuming of course you're not just some thinly-disguised troll...
  18. What I can't believe is that anyone would admit to watching a beauty contest.
  19. Why weren't all y'all teabagging in 2008 when the Bushistas ponied up 750b for the financial services industry and literally threw it at them with virtually no conditions as to its use?? You're totally freaked over Obama's $787b but that represents about half of the government's largesse...using our money. Just have to ask you know.
  20. I'm surprised no-one is bringing up some of the programs that Richard Nixon funded ... and held dear...that would curl any self-respecting wingnut's hair. I am continually surprised at what a complex mix of contradictions were represented by Mr. Nixon.
  21. Whilst I typically agree with you, in all fairness to the other side I have NEVER seen this particular wingnut proclaim itself to a either a Christian, or compassionate. That probably doesn't surprise you.
  22. You mean you can't find anyone other than a failed candidate who's been dead for 41 years to champion your cause?
  23. They brought this on themselves... with the tea bag imagery...tell people to send teabags...and then it just morphed. If they weren't so out of touch they would have known to avoid this and go another route. That's marketing 101. Note by the way a whopping 134k respondents. Whoop de doo.
  24. Obviously you've never met my brother.
  25. Be careful, because your suggestion that transferring line items from budget/cost centers (legal cooking the books, really) has already been suggested and was pronounced by the oracle LABills to be stupid.
