  1. I will only buy my cheese downtown at DeLaurentis...mmmm....$35+ per pound for some of that stuff, but it's worth it even if I can only afford a teeny bit...
  2. I'm starting to think of that movie "Major League" where the bimbo owner wanted the team to really stink so she could move them out of town and no-one would care.
  3. I bet the name of the head pirate who concocted the plan and gave the order to attack is.... wait for it.... "Jauron".
  4. Iraq vet, former Raven / Seahawk (very brief career), collapsed and died in Port Orchard this week, age 27.
  5. Yes but they paid me $12k so I'll come out ahead. Seriously though - I think everyone would be surprised to find out who some of these bloggers are, and who's paying them to blog. This is no different than requiring Infomercials to be listed as "Paid Advertsiting" on TV, and those magazine inserts likewise have to be labelled. Basing a buying decision on a blogger's words isn't a what a well-informed person does. But this is America, where a statement that starts with "Some say...." is uttered time and time again by talking heads (as if the "some" are authorities on anything) and a whole lot of morons somehow take that as credible evidence...of whatever.
  6. Well, DJ, I blame you too. That and fify cents won't get you a freaking coffee, not even at McDonald's
  7. Chicago is New York, only clean. I really really like Chicago, it seems like a very liveable city in spite of the bad rap about crime. I'd live there even though it's flat and the winters suck.
  8. We hate the Patriots far more than the Fish these days. When they become the Patsies again and the Fish improve, we'll hate the fish again. Either way the Bills will probably stay at the bottom of the pile...
  9. Me! Me! Pick me!
  10. Jauron's statements are kinda like the Mayor in Seattle who, after 2 weeks of record-breaking snow and the city's inability to clear the streets, said "I think we did a good job - I give us a B". Guess who didn't get re-elected? I'm just sayin.....
  11. The downside to private sector is that offering the good or service, no matter how much it's needed, is optional and driven by profitability. Nothing wrong in that, unless you NEED that good or service. Case in point in this morning's Seattle Times: the Army Corps of Engineers announced some time ago that actions they might have to take to shore up a dam *could* result in flooding in the Kent Valley. And voila! Companies located in the Kent Valley have all received notice from their insurers that they are no longer offering flood insurance. So the *only* option for these people who cannot get insurance is...the federal government.
  12. I don't know what's worse, being in Madison, WI or being in Madison, WI and watching the Bills there...but, this may be our only other win this year so I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
  13. Be very careful of those "home printed" tickets too. It's convenient but you can print up a bunch - the first person to get scanned at the stadium gets in and everyone else has to prove they're not a thief. Yesterday at the Seahawks game it happened too - guy and his girl were sitting in primo seats in front of us, usher came along and sure enough they held "double-issue" tickets.
  14. Half Man. Half God. Possible Half Centaur. You are right. We will never lose again - because Tedy Bruschi is all those meaning he is IMMORTAL. I like those odds.
  15. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. This fully qualifies me to announce that: Jon Gruden is INDEED the new Bills head coach, to be announced just before the coin toss on Sunday. He will be joined by Tony Dungy, Bill Cowher and Mike Shanahan, all new assistant coaches. And Jesus Himself is going to be VP Personnel/Operations. We can't lose.
  16. TO knew what he was getting into. He's not stupid. At age 36 the fact that he was let go and not on the market above 48 hours ... well, that was a coup for him (ask Marvin Harrison) but there's a price to be paid for it. That price is belonging to a mediocre team. I do believe from what I've seen and heard that TO truly does want to help the team, and probably thought he could - he's played for contenders most of his career after all. This is probably a pretty bitter pill to swallow. Hopefully the $6m helps.
  17. Playoffs? Playoffs?! <audio of Jim Mora diatribe here>
  18. I want Drew Brees to do well - he's a classy guy. I still think the Chargers were idiots to dump him and keep that whiny Rivers but it's NO's gain.
  19. The government is not going to own the hospitals. The doctors and nurses are not going to be government employees. IF that were the case, I'd be against it too.
  20. How long did VietNam veterans have to fight to have Agent Orange declared a carcinogen? And what about Gulf War syndrome? Governments run by BOTH parties have a LONG history of completely ignoring our veterans after they've outlived their usefulness. It is digusting and shameful. It also has nothing to do with healthcare reform.
  21. I am terribly sorry to say that for the second time this millenium, I agree with you. I am now convinced you've either had a visitation or....someone killed you, stuffed your body up the chimney and assumed your identity.
