Pat Kirwan held several positions with the Jets from 1989-97, including defensive assistant coach, assistant pro personnel director and director of player administration. He has managed the salary cap, negotiated player contracts and trades, and evaluated pro and college personnel. Prior to joining the Jets, Pat was a scout for the Buccaneers and Cardinals as well as the offensive coordinator at Hofstra University. He never worked for the Bills. He was a writer for CNN/SI at that time and had the ears of many a GM throughout the NFL. I saw him at camp last year, scouting for NFL.com, along with Buffalo resident Vic Carruci. Guffalo was talking to him for a while.

Could happen but Sam Wyche is working daily with him. Tom Clements is also working with him in installing the offense. Both played QB during their playing days and know WTF they're talking about. Wyche developed Joe Montana as Bill Walsh's QB coach and spent an off-season in Cinci getting Boomer Esiason ready to replace Ken Anderson. Remind me how they turned out. I do like Holcomb and have no problem going to him due to poor play or injury. Both are far better alternatives than the ineffective, limited DB. QB isn't high on my worry list, since we got very little out of it last year and still won 9 games. I'll be concentrating on watching Edwards/Anderson replacing Pat Williams and the OL in general, especially LT. Backup RB is also of interest. Shaud Williams, Gates or Lee ? Put some faith in proven coaches.

Actually he's a cross between Jim Jones and Hunter Thompson. Has a large moat with baby seals surrounding his complex. Will gut one when in a mood. Mumbles incoherently into a PA system with terms like " Anarchy... less gov't... get off my tundra or die...". He seems to love kool-aid. The clay skeet exploding out of the sky at all hours keeps the curious at bay. I'm sensing he has few disciples. Doesn't play well with others. The sled dogs are a wreck around him.

Pizza Junction in the City of Tonawanda closed ( Deleware Ave .) They had the absolute biggest subs and wings I ever saw. I could never eat more than half a sub at a time. If you got a double mixed, it looked like 2 lbs. of meat was on there. Am I right ?

They did but then the orginal location on Deleware in Kenmore went back to being Mikes Subs and making them the way they always did. Absolutely huge and taste second to none. Now I'm all fired up for a Royal sub from Mikes. Hello lunch !

Ever hear of Ross Estates 2002 Lyndoch ? ( Bordeaux ) Costs $20 a bottle and may be the best wine I ever had. I'm a big fan of Australian wines. It's on sale this week at the premier group and I'll pick up a bottle for Saturday.

I'd rather throw the big $$ at Clements, a proven top player. I wouldn't give up on signing him yet.

Buffalo style is frying thick cuts of bologna, served on soft bread rolls with fried green bell peppers, tender onions and melted American cheese. I prefer weber's mustard on top. Goes great with a 6 pack of Labatt Blue.

Without pinpointing any set number, WM is the key to the entire Offense, just as Thurman was during the late 80's through the mid 90's. He opened up opportunities for talented players like Kelly, Reed, Lofton etc. to make plays. Having a good backup behind him was also a big help. Rob Riddick and Kenny Davis could come in and keep the offense rolling without any dropoff. With WM proving he was a top RB last season, we now need to find out if Losman can step forward and get the ball to Moulds, Evans etc. Plus we need to find out if Lee, Williams, Gates or anyone can provide a solid backup plan at RB. The offense was the problem last season and the switch to Losman was seen as trying to increase it's overall production in the long run. Still, WM is a heck of a RB for a 1st year starter to work with. He is the key to our hopes.
