  1. Sour Play of the Week: It's hard to blow a 20-point fourth-quarter lead -- awful tactics are required on defense as well as offense! Score Buffalo 23, Miami 17 -- the Marine Mammals faced third-and-10 on their 27 with 1:41 remaining, Miami out of timeouts. Now class, where might the pass go? Maybe up the field! Yet Chris Chambers got behind the Bills defense for a 57-yard reception that made possible Miami's fantastic finish. When this play started, Chambers already had 12 receptions for 169 yards -- yet he was covered by third-string cornerback Jabari Greer. Buffalo's starting corners weren't hurt, just nowhere to be seen. Worse, Greer got no safety help; no safety was even in the deep center. Replays show three Buffalo defensive backs standing like topiary in the short slant zones, covering no one at all. The sole Buffalo player who went to the deep center was middle linebacker London Fletcher. Every week there is one play yours truly watches over and over again in rapt fascination, and this week, this was it. Buffalo knows the game is on the line and knows Miami must throw deep; Chambers is having a career day; yet Buffalo has a third-stringer guarding Chambers and a middle linebacker is the only deep help. On the winning touchdown with six seconds remaining, the Bills dropped seven into coverage against four Miami receivers. Yet with seven to guard four, Chambers -- who to that point had 14 receptions for 234 yards -- again was single-covered by Greer. Three Bills starting defensive backs stood around like topiary, covering no one as the third-stringer battles to save the day. On the final Miami drive, either Buffalo defensive coaches made awful calls or the Bills' starting defensive backs turned into high-school players. Ye gods.
  2. Pass the geritol.
  3. I'm a sucker. I go, no matter what. Others will bail immediately and bring economics/ time consumption into the argument. Factors that mean nothing, when you are winning. Everyone has a different threshold and I respect that. I enjoy the company of nice people. That's my primary reason for attending. I can't control what happens on the field. When they win, it's a bonus.
  4. Yes, the Republican vs. Democratic war of words is far more fascinating and never repetitive.
  5. Not when 10,000 renewel forms aren't returned this spring. TD's hat is out of Rabbits.
  6. Can I post something from Weekly World News ? It has more credibility. Ooooh, look ! Batboy is visiting OBD !
  7. Let's see. I've been following this team since I was a kid in the '60's. I've had those mornings several hundred times. F#*k the Eagle fans.
  8. Good point. Ralph usually buys his Coaches at the Goodwill Thrift store.
  9. Yup. More untested Asst. Coaches. Sign me up. Let's wait for Tenny to can Jeff Fisher.
  10. Turn off the sink and put the bourbon to bed.
  11. Did Willis call in and start laughing ?
  12. " Mike, why do you have this quick urinary fetish with the Buffalo Chophouse ? "
  13. Shelton signed a 1 year deal. He's out there again this off-season.
  14. These posts are always a train wreck. " Look at me, I'm right about something negative. Now give me my props " Do props = A kick in the jimmy ? If so, lots of props coming your way.
  15. Then the expected sideline shot of Mularkey, mouth agape, with sleigh bells all over his antlers...
  16. I guess I'm one of those morons who needs his post removed. Yet I find it strange to post a vigorous defense of a player that probably has 4 games left in his Bills career. If he was as good as advertised, would we need to defend him ? It can't be all just blind bashing.
  17. Just an observation. Nate wants Champ Bailey $$ ( total Contract is 62 Mil ) . Will someoneone offer that to him ? Probably not, but close to it. With our current shortage in the trenches, is that where you spend your big $$ ? He can't stop the run or help block. Outside of QB, a team should then spend the $$ on the lines. I realize the Coaches are NOT playing to the strength of their players. Example - Milloy was never asked to cover in NE. He was used as a 4th,5th LB to play up on the line and support the run. The Corners are not getting the support deep from our Safties. Man coverage is a far better alternative. No matter now. 4-8 speaks for itself. Coaching and lack of quality Lineman on both O and D still seem to be the biggest problem on this team. Nate may be a great physical talent but "10 cent brain" syndrome seems to afflict him at critical times all too often. That's when you start to question his true worth. If we chop Williams, Moulds, Bennie Anderson and a couple other Vets, then we take a pretty steep hit in dead cap $$, since all have remaining years on their deals. After that, say we give Nate his deal. How much cap $$ do we have left ? I'd say about 20 dollars, which means another year of breakdowns along a patchwork OL and small DL. No thank you.
  18. If there is quality product on the shelf, when you go shopping. For what we need, I see slim pickings this off-season. Concentrate on Hutchinson and Bentley for a OL upgrade. DL looks horribly thin.
  19. The world is a better place with loyal fans like you. Have a great day Cindy.
  20. You are correct, Bill. I'm guessing a signing of a top OG like Hutchinson or a C/G like Bentley would be between about 4 Mil a year with a signing bonus on top of that. Lets say you chop Williams, Moulds, Bennie Anderson, maybe Chris V. and a couple other vets. With remaining years on their contracts, they would all take away from the total available cap space for 2006. The actual numbers with bonuses would be something Clump could tell us but I can't see us having 15 Mil in spending $$ if we clean out 4-5 vets with years remaining on their deals. I guess we need help from Mr. Clump but conservatively, we could still bid on a couple UFA's in what I see as a thin FA market. A couple FA's and wise Drafting with a new front office isn't impossible. Always the optimist. Unfortunately, it seems to be long term more often than not.
  21. He's one of the last people I'd critisize for yesterdays meltdown. He should have been carrying the ball when Losman threw that INT. That goes back to Coaching. Sometimes you have to laugh at the chaos surrounding you.
  22. Should TD be fired ? Should the economy be better ? Should my boss double my salary ? Should JLH be my playtoy on the side ? I know the answer !....I mean...we.. think we know the answer...
  23. Much ado about nothing.
  24. The Bills would be wise to trade down and pick up extra picks. This roster has more holes than swiss cheese, needing upgrades at multiple positions. Instead of 4 first day draft picks, give youself 5 and inject some talent into this roster. Try and find 1 OL and a Vet WR in FA. The Bills will be carrying a large dead cap hit by cutting Williams, Moulds and a few other vets. Lets be realistic about the roster upgrade. Hopefully, a new front office will be calling the shots.
