  1. Bill Nye probably has a DVD about it, selling at Short Circuit City.
  2. That's coming off the 219 onto Milestrip doing 80, so you can get in the left turn lane for Abbott and the stadium. Where is my box of Crackerjacks ?
  3. His 1980 and 1981 teams provided some great memories. Loved those teams.
  4. Clarence " Speedy " Neal.
  5. Ruben " Iron Hands " Gant
  6. He spent 1977-89 with Pittsburgh. So lets start throwing stones. He's the one Asst. I WOULD hire. Older, disciplined, proven Offensive success. Hire a good DC to compliment him and lets see what we have. One of the ones.
  7. " After I spoke Monday, I sort of regret bringing it up. I wish I hadn't said it. I can say on the record that I have had no contact with the Bills . " - Marv We now return to our regularly scheduled programming...
  8. Bush is not a NFL workhorse type RB but can still carry the ball 15-20 times, catch 5-8 passes and be your primary return guy on ST's. If he can get 25-30 total touches a game, opposing coaches will have plenty to worry about, since his ability to turn 5 yards into 50 is unparallel. I envy the team that selects him.
  9. . If that is true, then he stays. The Bills, at worst, could franchise him if they don't get a deal done on time. Amazing that some teams still screw up the cap which results in a mass purging. I thought The Titans may be the last team I would see doing that, believing the GM's had enough time now to understand the cap and properly balance the roster. Apparently, there are still teams which gamble and vastly overpay. I will be interested to see if any cap casualties are players we could use.
  10. Well, at least you didn't go over the top in describing his actual ability.
  11. Anyone hear anything about Marv Levy lately ? "The past is never there when you try to go back. It exists, but only in memory. To pretend otherwise is to invite a mess." We will go to bed tonight with no definitive answer to our 2006 season, since this one is dead and buried. So for at least a month, we strain for clues to the future with baseless guesses. Quite entertaining and a blind squirrel does find a nut every blue moon. The elder Marv would be a good consultant and little more. Let the chips fall this final month. Candidates will emerge and the Draft will renew our hopes in this team. This board will always have a few insufferable whiners but most everyone else holds a degree of hope for every season. That's why we keep coming back and seeing if someone can get it right. It's been WRONG for 6 + years but Quit was never listed in my resume. " The starting point for a better world is the belief that it is possible. " Can we compete in 2006 ? With the opportunity to select a new leader and have him make some wise decisions, we know the answer. Otherwise, why do we keep coming back ?
  12. Mularkey only likes tough guys.
  13. It's his new Run For The Bus " Package "
  14. Marv, as a consultant only, could be a bridge between Ralph and his people to bring Polian or his son back onboard. That alone would make it worth the gamble. Marv knows nothing about being a GM.
  15. ...30,000 empty seats..

  17. The Compensation process is always a crapshoot and has never been kind to Buffalo. I think Jennings ( LT, 3rd round pick) would help us aquire a pick more than Williams( Undrafted Free Agent). Neither were All-Pro's. I just can't plan on that but hope for the best. With the Henry trade, we already have two 3rd round picks. Trading down in Round 1 could garner us another 3rd rounder.
  18. I think you're right. Rumor had it that both E. James and S. Alexander were drawing only 2nd round picks in trade talk this past year, due to perceived high contract demands.
  19. He was a finalist for the HC job at New Mexico St. and Sam Houston last season. I doubt those jobs pay any higher than UB. If he's visiting, a ballpark figure has already been discussed in the first interview last month.
  20. So everyone in Seattle and San Diego is either married or gay ?
  21. Marv was a former ST's coach and strictly a delegator. He let Walt Corey and Wade run the D and Ted Marchibroda and Kelly run the Offense. Then he'd quote Churchill to impress the troops. Marv was a sharp guy but had a hell of a roster with some pretty sharp lieutenants to help navigate the waters. Polian gave him the job and the guns to fight with. A gameday genius, he was not.
  22. Bad Flu. Still have a horrid chest cold.
  23. I completely agree with this entire post.
  24. According to todays Buff News. He and Michigan OL Coach Andy Moeller ( son of former Mich. Coach Gary Moeller) were interviewed before. Now Gill is coming to the Amherst campus for 2 days of interviews with the UB AD and the school president. Gill is currently the director of player development for the Green Bay Packers. He spent the previous 13 seasons coaching at Nebraska during the Tom Osborne era and was named asst. head coach under Frank Solich. He supposedly is an excellent recruiter. Like UB has anything to lose by hiring the guy. Recruiting competitive talent has been their biggest problem. For the kiddies who can't remember him, Gill was an quick option QB for Nebraska, back in the early 1980's. They were 28-2 with him starting, 20-0 in Conference play. He then played 2 years in the CFL before going into coaching full time.
