????? What's the problem ? When the Bills are losing, we eat our own and fight. When they are winning, it's wall to wall Kumbaya. It's always been like that. Welcome to the internet. -

Screaming " It's The Offensive Lines' Fault "
Mark VI replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The blame is equally distributed. That's the original message of the post. Many here put ALL the blame on the Offensive Line and defend Bledsoe,Henry,Moulds as completely blameless. Even when opportunities arise, they can't seem to make the big play. Their stats are subpar due to many of their own shortcomings. I was not defending the Line. People who have trouble reading often make this mistake when responding.. -

Don't forget Minnesota in the Big 10. Maroney,Barber and Valentine can all run the ball. Cupito is a good QB. Like Joe Tillers Purdue squad, the Gophers typically are a high scoring team who give up a lot of yards on Defense. I'll see if Glen Mason can keep the Gophers winning throughout the conference schedule. One stumble on offense and these teams are in trouble. Their Defenses don't shut down anyone.

Why does UB have a 1A football program?
Mark VI replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Basketball Team has 2 Freshman,2 Soph and 1 Junior starter last year. They all return. Team started slow and finished 17-12, 11-7 in the MAC. Your predictions ring hollow. Witherspoon is doing a good job coaching and recruiting. -
If you were bored during the Colts/Packers game, seek help. I blame the Offensive Line of every team. I'm trying to fit in better at TSW

Why does UB have a 1A football program?
Mark VI replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The basketball program broke through last season. Now they are one of the better teams in the MAC. The football program doesn't seem to be progressing at all. Hohfer is not the answer. Need to pinpoint some key recruiting areas and get some players with actual talent. WNY is NOT a hotbed of top high school football talent. Keeping our own means keeping very average players. The rare big names, like Worthington of St. Francis, pick Ohio St. UB needs a great recruiter to run the program. Find a winner from Div. 1-AA or Divison II....or Another Div.1 Top Asst., known for being a good recruiter. -

1998- 10-6 1999- 11-5 2000 - 8-8 Wades' last 3 years in Buffalo. If we supposedly didn't have a good OL since the Kelly years, then how did we win ? Oh, that's right. The midget QB and the skill position players made the 6-10 key plays needed most weeks to win football games. Plus they didn't turn the ball over in crunch time. The commentators during the Colts game were analizing the Colts OL yesterday. OT Tarik Glenn was a #1 pick and is playing OK. One Lineman was a 4th rounder, another a 7th. The remaining 2 were Undrafted Free Agents. I'm going to start researching other rosters of winning teams to see who has an OL full of high picks. Bet the results will be an eye opener. -

Exactly how I view it. The OL is bad on certain calls. Other times, they block well enough to allow the skill players opportunities to make something happen. Instead, the skill players fail to deliver. We refuse to accept this, making countless hollow excuses and blaming the OL. -

Put Bledsoe behind the OL of Seattle, the Eagles and those teams continue to win ?? Cough,cough,cough,cough... and the Pats win 2 Superbowls in the past 3 years. Right ? They don't even make the playoffs if Bledsoe was still starting. -

Kelly had limited mobility and was playing poorly. I have read multiple posters blaming the line for his supposed sudden retirement. I never bought into that. He had taken too many hits in the USFL, prior to even coming here. He was DONE when he retired. His play was declining rapidly. He couldn't move and was forcing/floating passes that last year. RJ sucked everywhere, despite having footwork and couldn't make decisons, like another #11. Do the Eagles have a great OL ? The Colts ? Look at those starters. They made some good plays and many bad ones. It's the ability of their skill players. No question. -
I've been watching some of the games today. McNabb had plenty of plays where he didn't have 2 seconds after the snap and still made something positive out of it. Even the stone footed Kurt Warner hit Tiki Barber and other receivers on quick dump passes when jailbreak blitzed. Favre has been pressured something fierce in this Colts game, thanks to his own teams Defense being non-existent ...has to play catchup and is still making things happen... The athletic talent we now see from the Defensive side of the ball is unprecedented. Better athletes who think faster are needed at the QB position. RB's who can run, catch and block at a high level are also a necessity. It's NOT all Bledsoes' fault. Nor Henrys. But 15-20 teams wish their OL was much better. The reason many still win is the skill players are very talented with well rounded games. They also produce few negative plays while making a large # of positive plays, which result in points. Our playbook has a choke hold on it, due to the limitations of our QB and RB. Until we can defeat the jailbreak blitz, we will see it every week. Why ? Because #11 can't beat it and #20 can't block the sun or catch with any consistency. The result is a turnover margin we can rarely overcome. Mularkey is new and will figure out who can help him win. His loyalties to certain players is zero, if the results aren't there this season. He gets 3 years to get this moving in the right direction. In the meantime, the Defense gets older and good efforts get wasted by the inability of the Offense to make key plays. We drafted our future. Losman, Evans, Magahee, Euhus etc. The OL can be improved but 75% of the NFL wants to improve their OL every off-season. If our current QB,RB,WR combo isn't working, then Mularkey will make changes. Face up to it. You can't keep blaming the OL. That is getting so darn old. If we can't save this season...turn the page. Wins over excuses. This is their last chance.

Which Bills Have Their Own TV/Radio Shows
Mark VI replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those shows are all so lame. I'm waiting for " Oktoberfest with Constantin Ritzmann ". Germans in traditional garb in the background, just screaming drunk on beer, in full celebration during Oktoberfest. Ritzmann become a Buffalo icon overnight for having the coolest show. -
Stop talking about Bledsoe and the Offense...

One more. 1984 flick - Buckaroo Banzai , with Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum and Christopher Lloyd. True cult classic.

(OT) What did you go to school for?
Mark VI replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Business Degree over 20 years ago. Learned Computers in the Navy after graduation. Still work in the computer field but completely burned out and fed up. I'm almost 44 and have a family, so going back to school would be tough,if not financially impossible. Would love to work in a field where I'd be helping other people and could experience some compassion. I get next to zero satisfaction from my current position.
