Steve Tasker is an officially OFF my list
Mark VI replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tasker is still one of the best players we ever had. What he does in the broadcast booth is meaningless and will never change my position. -
I taped the game and have yet to view it. Was away attending a Baptism in the afternoon and a seperate dinner in East Aurora in the evening. Anyhow, I spoke with other relatives last night, who attended the game. Then read some comments in todays Buff News. Seems Sammy Morris was beating us up the middle. Mularkey tried sticking Bannon in and Adams refused to come out. This was in the 2nd Quarter. When the D came off the field, Admas had a heated exchange with Krumrie and Gray. Spiked his helmet on the turf. Edwards played the whole 2nd half and played well. 2 of my relatives said Adams wasn't even on the bench in the 2nd half. Was seen leaving the stadium after the game and talked to no one. Buff News Said his expression " spoke volumes ". Will he be the next to go ? Trade deadline is Tuesday.

I'm not voting for Bush or Kerry either.

Weakling. The Steelers were the NFL laughing stock for 40 + years before tasting success in the 70's. Good things come to those who wait. Is there a lower form of life than a bandwagon fan ? -
I remember Bert Jones well. Ted Marchabroda was the Colts coach. Had a lightning fast WR named Roger Carr. I believe in 1975, we led the Colts 28-7 at the half in Rich Stadium. We had cashed in on multiple turnovers. Jones throws 4 TD's in the 2nd half and the Colts win 35-28. I remember RB Joe Washington making the greatest catch I ever saw in person. One handed leaping grab. Crowd even gave him an ovation. Jones had it all . Was, without question, the biggest whiner in the NFL. Would just scream at the Officials all game for pass interference calls after an incomplete pass. The boos would rain down from the stands.

Indeed ! Those were horrid !

Darn, I was out all day and missed all the fun. JOHNNYFAIRPLAY was here ? Did he do the 3rd person stuff again ? That's so impressive. " JOHNNYFAIRPLAY doesn't do the Hammers lot scene. " " JOHNNYFAIRPLAY doesn't like homo's. " " JOHHYFAIRPLAY was just visiting Neverland. " Then sojan throws himself at him like a lemming.

By then , the helmets had a blue Buffalo with that red streak on them. I never liked those and they always made the helmet worse after each change. Red standing Buffalo on white. Can't beat perfection.
-
That's my position. I hold no ill will towards the guy. He displayed complete class on the Simoncast the other day. Not one bad word about the Bills. The youth movement has begun. Keep replacing the underachievers at the skill positions.

Ida swings a mean cane.

Bring back the entire uniform and helmet schemes from the 1960's with one change, blue pants and white jersey for the road games. The all white wasn't good. The white helmet with the red standing Buffalo will always be the best.

(OT) With all these old TV shows coming out on DVD
Mark VI replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about Wiseguy with Ken Wahl from 1987. If you like the Sopranos, you'd like this show. I see Barney Miller, Season 1, is coming out. I like the 1971 show The Persuaders, with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. 24 episodes. Also like Roger Moore as Simon Templer in " The Saint " . These shows were prior to Moore replacing Sean Connery as James Bond. -

We all feel the disappointment and anger of 0-4, knowing the dreams of playoff football are gone already. Ralph made some strong comments this past Sunday and I'm sure he had both TD and Mularkey in a conference on Monday. So let's make some rational analogies based on what we know. 1. TD - He is both President and GM of the Bills, handling the day to day operations for the team in addition to all the personnel moves. Ralph still believes he is doing a good job as President. He may have some questions about his work as GM. I believe he still has a couple years left on his contract and seriously doubt he's going anywhere. No need to rehash all the moves from 2001 on. It's been repeated ad nauseum. 2. Mularkey - He's been a head coach for 4 games. Needs to learn who can win for him. Is putting faith in some key Vets who are coming up small in crunchtime. He'll get his chance to get this team going and lineup changes, of the permanent kind, are coming. Until then, take some of those cute trick plays and bury them. He doesn't have the right players to pull them off. He gets 2-3 years, minimum. 3. Gray - Needs to abandon the Prevent/Zone D that fails miserably in the 4th Quarter of close games. Outside of the Pats game, the D has been pretty good. Then comes the need to shut the opposition down at the end. A 3 man rush gives the QB all day to pick the Bills D apart. Man coverage and blitz evryone else, including the trainer. He may be the one guy who seat is very hot right now. Will be interesting how Mularkey views him, once the season is concluded. 4. The Future - Our Big 3 on Offense are Bledsoe, Henry and Moulds. The Bills had Three #1 picks in the last 2 years. MaGahee, Evans and Losman. Coincidence ? Hardly. Some foresight on TD's part with both performance and future contract status in mind. Evans isn't here to be the next Peerless and replace Josh Reed or Shaw. He's here to replace the aging Moulds and be our new #1 WR. Moulds has a mind boggling 8.75 Mil cap hit next year. He'll never see it and is no longer worth it. Big pay cut ( not a restructure with big $$ being pushed into the future ) or bye-bye. Losman replacing Bledsoe is a foregone conclusion. After observing MaGahee improve each week, he is phasing out Henry, who's shortcomings are too numerous. Henry will be dealt. On D, Pat Williams may walk after this season. Thus the keeping of Ron Edwards and the drafting of Tim Anderson. Kelsay seems to be slowly improving at DE. Schobel is here. Our LB's are set for now. Let's concentrate on shoring up the secondary. McGee needs time and should play this year and learn, since the Bills won't be playing in the Post Season. He may have to replace Nate after 2005 or Vincent. March Free Agency will be huge for this team, especially if some hard decisons are made on some existing salaries, such as Bledsoe, Moulds and others. We need proven NFL talent. Need $$ to find another Tackle, since Jennings will walk. Losman was worth the #1 pick in 2005 and could very well be the spark of energy this team has been lacking. Our remaining picks in the April Draft are important but landing some solid FA's should be a priority. Conclusion - Lineup changes are coming soon. Losman will replace Bledsoe. MaGahee will replace Henry. Evans will obviously see more passes. TE Tim Euhus will play more. Younger players will be rotated in for some series, since little is on the line. With Losman as QB, some other players like Josh Reed may wake up. Bledsoe had favored Moulds too often and can't stop locking onto him. Often a QB change has given a 2nd life to underachieving WR's . Let's see if Reed can wake up with Losman before throwing him on the scrap heap. The rest of the year will be a learning experience for the 2005 season and beyond. Not the scenerio we expected but that's the reality of it all. Time to turn the page with some of the older players and inject a losing team with some energy. Bring on the youth movement.

Enough with the damn draft pick already!
Mark VI replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Evans is here to eventually replace Moulds, maybe sooner than you think. With a 8.75 Mil cap figure next season, he must take a restructure or he is toast. 8.75 Mil could pay for 2,3 new starters in 2005 March Free Agency. -
A couple of other problems brewing on

Then Losman will play in late November and the future transformation will be almost complete. B) -

One final time. The trade allowed us to move up about 25 spots for a 2nd pick in round 1 from round 2. Dallas moved back 25 spots into the 2nd round. In return, they received a 5th rounder this past April and the Bills #1 in 2005. So the trade was for a 5th in 2004 and a 1st in 2005. We picked our next QB with that pick. How was this a bad trade ?? Makes no sense. We needed a QB, no ? BTW- Parcells was crushed in the press for passing on Steven Jackson ( selected by the Rams in round #1 ) and settling for ND's Julius Jones, who wasn't playing well and is now hurt. Dallas is 2-2 and had to turn to Eddie George. Ask the Dallas fans if they give a royal crap about the #1 pick in 2005 at present. They were booing their team as they left the field yesterday.
