Northwestern beat Ohio St. also. Thanks for making me feel bad. Joe Pa needs to go. What a shame. Like the Buckeyes, it's all Defense and no Offense. I followed Penn St. during the pre-Big 10 games. No way in hell should this program be this bad. The lack of recruiting success is killing this team. The Admin needs to confront him after the season is concluded. He'll be 78 next year and can't get the players to come to Penn St. anymore. Legend status be damned. He's tarnished it enough the last few years just by being stubborn to step aside. The school doesn't deserve to sink with him.

Dan, I'm guessing by the username vegas55 that someone lost $$ on that play.

Damn. There goes all the " Coaches We Should Have Hired " Threads. Remind me how John Fox is doing in Carolina ?

For those at the game, anyone see the guy...

Didn't look like he landed on anyone. As dumb luck would have it, he landed right in an aisle entrance and security just grabbed him. Fights in the stands were frequent yesterday . -
Lewis reminds the refs prior to kickoff he can have them killed and beat the rap.

Who was the tool? Bledsoe or Mularkey?
Mark VI replied to Gavin in Va Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fans were not happy and the boos rained down. Why did we call a run on the previous play ? Should have tried short passes into the end zone. Incomplete passes stop the clock. Coaches dropped the ball there. Bledsoe wasn't at fault. -
hm...can i say this without getting torched

Works in progress, which the Bills are, still means tweeking mistakes. Not being an apologist whatsover but confidence must start from the ashes and our Offense was the NFL's worst up until a couple weeks ago. Someone pointed out on the radio yesterday that the Jets opponents record , coming into the Bills game was 11-24. We lost to them by 2 points in Jersey. This just in. The Jet's are not as good as their record. Waaaay overrated. MaGahee has brought some life to the Offense and other positives are now emerging ,due to the success of running the ball. The next step IS winning on the road and showing the ability to maintain some obvious momentum. A depressing win ? No such animal. -
Even worse was Bob Trumpy. Is he even around anymore ? This guy had a woodrow for the Dolphins back in the early 1990's. Bills are on their way to their 3rd SB in 1992 and Bills are at Miami for the AFC Championship game. The day before, he is to interview Kelly and shows up wearing a Dolphins jacket. Kelly takes one look at him and cancels the interview, walking away. Trumpy throws a fit in the papers and critisizes Kelly during the game. Bills win and Trumpy had trouble hiding his disgust. Was openly rooting for the Dolphins all during the telecast. I know many here remember that. Here's to you, Mr. unbiased journalist. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

So physically kicking the crap out of your opponent is now attributed to wind aid ? Someone contact Rumsfeld. 15 mph winds equals sure victory and an early end to the war.

OMG. Promo and JSP are upbeat. In other news, Hell is out of snow shovels. Good thinking, lad. I agree.

Kelsay & Evans - 2 More Players Step Forward
Mark VI replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Simon. My 3rd leg is 5'-2" It's so refreshing to watch a guy so fundamentally sound like Kelsay. He needed some tweeking with technique and responded . Hit the weight room and put on over 20 pounds this past off-season. Every week is an improvement over the last. Evans will probably follow suite in the week to week improvement. He is so talented and needs more touches. -

Kelsay & Evans - 2 More Players Step Forward
Mark VI replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed. Kelsay has improved so much since the beginning of the year. Early on, he seemed to be letting himself get tied up inside, allowing RB's to bouce outside and turn the corner for big gains. Now he beats his man to gain outside position. The RB's instictively cut back inside, only to have Kelsay shed his block and make the tackle. Getting excellent pressure which results in hurried throws. Protects his feet well and slides down the line to make tackles away from his side of the field. Hard to not notice his improvement every week. Evans needs to get the ball more every game. Has good hands to go with the great turn of speed. I watched him make those plays dozens of times at Wisconson. MaGahee still doesn't have his speed back but follows his blockers well and shows the amazing power that just pounds the opposition. Best straight arm in the NFL. A huge gamble that looks brilliant early on. Think if he actually gets faster next year ! -
Our top 2 picks in 2003 were MaGahee and Kelsay. This year , Evans and Losman. While I await the promising debut of #7, the other 3 seem to be coming along quite nicely. Willis found the spotlight last month and continues to produce. Today, Kelsay & Evans wanted a piece of the spotlight and came up big.. This season won't produce a playoff team but some young guys we drafted highly continue to make big plays. Still a work in progress and it seems to indicate the younger guys are as good as advertised. We are allowed to enjoy this win for a day. Thinking good thoughts for 2005 and beyond.

That's because it requires more than sound bites and name calling. Eliminates a lot of posters.

Indeed ! Sorry to ruin the thread, Lori.

Top shelf observations Lori, as always. Reading your intelligent posts are always a breath of fresh air. Once the " Look at Me " crowd shows up, this post will vanish off page 1. What a crying shame.

Oh brother. Just take it one week at a time. This place is a weekly emotional roller coaster. If the Bills run the gameplan they ran last week against the Cardinals, they have a good chance of winning. The Jets are a much better team but are ripe for the taking. Stick to the run and hit the play action pass. Turnovers are key. If the Bills stumble and then get clobbered at New England, then DB is just holding the fort until JP is ready. The Bills will have tickets to sell for the remaining home games and DB wouldn't sell one. Announcing a switch to JP would sell 5,000 tickets, minimum. Marketing matters and so does the future direction of this team. It sets up an off-season of hope and another postive reason to purchase season tickets for 2005. If you wish to argue that point, turn to the nearest wall and tell it how you know better.

How about Fletcher ? On those 2 Kick Returns this year, he just trampled a couple guys. For a LB, he can really fly and fears no one. If not him, then Moorman, who is very fast and a great athlete. (NCAA Div. II 400 Meter Champ in College )

I have tickets for the Rockettes Christmas Show the day after Thanksgiving. Not all musicals suck. I'll be enjoying the scenery.

Just ignore the hourly gunfire and house bonfires.

You don't . I'm surprised Casino's and Beer retailers don't offer advertising on them. Talk about a focus group...

Will I be insiting violence if I do this?
Mark VI replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your Insurance company wouldn't be thrilled with that, after you make mutiple claims. Why invite problems ? Forget about it. -
Spurrier said no... so now the search begins for someone who will make a long term commitment to Gainsville. I would think the favorites now would be Bob Petrino of Louisville and maybe Jeff Tedford of Cal, although I believe Petrino would be the front runner. Petrino is familiar with recruiting in Florida ( has 23 Florida players on his team ) and was an Asst. Coach in the SEC ( Auburn ). Tedford is a great recruiter anywhere and has the Pro-style offense the Gators like, much like Petrino. Meyer has the connection with the Florida AD but has no real recruiting connections in Florida.
