Ritzmann,a native of Mellensee, Germany, could achieve cult status in WNY if he is given a chance to play and rush the passer. Tennessee Vols team captain last season, he showed me some good moves in the pre-season. Quick and can really run. Probably needs a year in the weight room. - 6-4 265 lbs. I hope he gets in a few late games and bring the Sauerbraten from the outside. Let him take Denneys spot for a few games. How could he be any worse ? He'd sack the QB and celebrate with a goosestep. Heineken Beer would become a team sponser. His jersey would be a popular buy. Denney could never have such an effect on the fanbase. Now I have a jones for some Heineken... Wow, it's working already ! Ritzmann ! Ritzmann ! Ritzmann !

Educated thoughts about Losman...

I forgot. Montana was 6-6 and 250 lbs. , right ? So was Fran Tarkenton. Why did the Pats dump Bledsoe again ?. Keep asking yourself that. -

Educated thoughts about Losman...

In style, he's the Anti-Bledsoe. Quick thinking, decisive, mobile, spots secondary receivers... Losman has an upside. Bledsoe has none. -
Keeping good thoughts. Prayers on the way.

Anybody getting the feeling that Drew will

Well said, Bill. Many here have referenced past instances of QB development , going back several years. There was no SALARY CAP back then. It dictates many a roster decision these days. Bledsoe carries a big salary and I can't see Losman riding the bench, once the Bills are eliminated from the playoff picture. TD and Co. invested a 1st round pick in this guy. In the salary cap age, that means your day is coming very soon. Wyche did not come out of retirement to put humpty dumpty back together again. He came back to ready a prize pupil, something he is good at. The Losman era is coming soon, like it or not. Some posters can call him another Todd Collins or Billy Joe all they want. Means nothing to me. I know what we have in Bledsoe and that means a commitment to mediocrity, something the Pats weren't satisfied with and neither are sober Bills fans. -

DB starts until the Bills are officially eliminated from the playoffs. Then it's JP's turn to get some experience. Sal Maiorana - Rochester D&C, said it perfectly this morning: "There is no question that Losman is the quarterback of the future, and that future is coming soon. Even if Bledsoe were to finish with a Joe Montana-like stretch at the end of the year, I believe this has to be his last season as the starter because Losman, a first-round pick, is the player who must become this team's leader. Until the Bills are officially eliminated from the playoff race, Bledsoe is the man. Once they're out, I say give the ball to Losman and start getting him ready for 2005. I like Drew and I'm glad he is playing better lately, but I'm not ready to sign on for another season of Bledsoe when there's a first-round gunslinger sitting on the bench ready to get his career under way. " We know Bledsoe can only take this team so far and has way too many limitations. He'll never change. Losman is the future and will get his chance once the Bills are officially out of the playoff run in 2004.

Why I think Bledsoe should remain as our starter

Right now, you are correct. If we lose a game in the next 3 weeks, then the post-season longshot is history. Losman should then be our starter. As long as we are winning, keep Bledsoe in there. -
Whether you like eating them or not.

Bills Now a "B" Team in the Grand Scheme

" DB should start now, with our 100-1 playoff chance still alive. " That was my first sentence after saying Losman should start. Thanks for using my thread for a rambling, pointless diatribe. You can now return to the PPP board. -

Bills Now a "B" Team in the Grand Scheme

Giving Up ?? LOL ! I'm at every home game and totally behind everyone , including #11. I'm just offering a discussion on how to improve the team. Is this not a discussion board ? Thanks for stopping by and offering a deep, detailed response. -
Didn't someone start a rumor he was seen at the Buffalo airport with George Seifert, both interviewing for the Bills job ? Yup, the Bills also were looking at Tom Coughlin, Fassel... checking Jim Hasletts availability... Good God. I'll take Mularkey over ANY of those guys.

Bills Now a "B" Team in the Grand Scheme

That makes zero sense. Bledsoe started as a Rookie. He has played 12 years and can only take a team so far. I wish to actually compete against the Pats, our divisional foe. Drew plays like Barney Fife against them. I wish to take another step forward. I don't have any unrealistic expectations of Losman because he is a complete unknown, like EVERY ROOKIE QB. This I do know. He has a cannon for an arm and unlike Drew, he can actually move and deliver a ball to a secondary receiver. Seems to have some pocket awareness while DB has ZERO. DB should be playing now. I still root for him every week. Come 2005, I just can't see us IMPROVING with DB as our QB. Losman will make his mistakes but his upside could be far greater than Drew. The Bills spent a Number #1 pick on the guy and the Cap age dictates realistic decisons. -
Needed Moves to challenge the likes of the Pats, Steelers, Eagles etc. 1. QB - Losman in, Drew out. DB should start now, with our 100-1 playoff chance still alive. In the long term, the development of Losman is imperative. With DB as our QB, we can mark every game down against the Pats as a loss. Same goes for most every good team on the road. ( Please don't tell me Seattle is a good team, they're not.. ). Losman will have an entire off-season to ready himself . The dozen or so mini-camps, prior to Fisher camp, have these guys a mile ahead of players in the old days. Losman and Wyche will be spending a lot of time together. A good thing. 2. Find a Free Safety and 1 more CB. Troy Vincent was supposed to move there, but it looks like he has major injury questions at age 33. Could R. Baker be the answer ? Draft or sign another Free Safety anyhow. Depth . Another CB, with Nate becoming a FA after 2005 wouldn't surprise. 3. OL - Playing much better but we will probably need another Tackle after All- Whirlpool Jonas Jennings limps out of Buffalo ( Can NEVER stay healthy. Not worth big $$ ). Must decide whether Tucker is the long term solution at Guard. He is improving. Depth , through the Draft or Free Agency, is still a wise move. 4. Depth at Skill positions ( RB,WR ) - not to be overlooked. If Willis goes down, then what ? Look what happened when Moulds got hurt in 2003. Can Aiken step up as a 3rd WR ? ( I'm assuming Henry, J. Reed are history after this season ) Conclusion : Bills can't rewrite the 0-4 start. Still, I wish to have a team that can not only MAKE the playoffs but ADVANCE DEEP. The above moves, and more, seem needed for those dreams to become reality. Bills have definitely made positive strides lately and the Coaching staff and players seem to gel. Thank God for that. Willis has energized the entire team. Losman and a couple more moves may be the final lineup changes needed to seriously contend with the so-called Big Boys. I'm very pleased with what I see but some tweeking is still needed to take another step forward. Flame away.
