  1. Huh ? - in 1990 Bills were 13-3, Miami 12-4 - in 1992 Miami and Bills both finished 11-5, Miami wins division. Bills win AFC Championship game at Miami. The Colts and Jets were .500 teams during many of those years. Bills didn't have it that easy during the 4 year run.
  2. A good question. TD does have some work to do this off-season. This past season, some real progress was made with the new Coaching staff and some key lineup changes paid off. I'm sure he realizes he needs to get a Wild-Card berth next year and will be very busy aquiring talent prior to Camp in July. Mularkey will also be more settled in and can select the Players that give him the best chance to win. I expect a few more lineup changes are pending.
  3. Bills could ALWAYS use a talented Tight End.
  4. Sophmore - 1st Team All-American 20-29 - 6-6 30-39 - 9-10 40-49 - 9-11 50 + - 1-1 Junior - 2nd team All-American 10-19 - 1-1 20-29 - 5-5 30-39 - 5-6 40-49 - 4-5 50 + - 2-2 Senior - 1st Team All-American 20-29 - 5-5 30-39 - 4-4 40-49 - 6-8 50 + - 5-6 Several of those 50 yarders won games in the final moments. Plus he consistently drives the ball into the end zone on kickoffs, unlike squibber Lindell. Think valuable field position. 8 for 9 over 50 yards. My God. Total - 62-70 = 88.5% Kickers can decide several games a season. Is he worth a 2nd round pick ? You bet.
  5. I remember the Steelers having 28K fans in the stands in an early 1980's game. The Bills won anyway. The Steeler fans are good people, as a whole. It's population and economics. The NFL cares about ticket sales and $$. The Bills aren't even on the radar for an impending move. The Steeler fans travel better than any fan base in the NFL, since geting tickets to their own home games is nothing but a pipe dream. For now, the Bills are fine. It's amazing that season ticket sales are around 43,000, considering how the Bills have performed over the last 4,5 seasons. Only 1 home game hasn't made it on local TV in the last 2 seasons. That's amazing. Buffalo doesn't have half or a third the population other NFL cities have, so they must get fannies in the seats by marketing the team regionally and getting tickets to the visiting teams fan base. Let's be realistic and think clearly. You are speaking to hundreds of season ticket holders on this site, who have a true understanding of the situation. Right now, this team is going nowhere and the immediate future is bright.
  6. Kicker Mike Nugent should be strongly considered. The guy could be a legit difference maker in 2,3 games in 2005. No other 2nd round pick could lay claim to that.
  7. Pass rushing DE, no. Bills need a DE who's better against the run.

  9. Agreed. He wouldn't make my top 15, with all those drops.
  10. Teague actually played good this year. I watched the OL closely from the stands and didn't see him being pushed back on the bull rush, like I did in 2003. He improved by leaps and bounds. Mike Williams improvement was obvious. He was just trampling people in many games, providing a good body for Willis to follow. Chris V played well when healthy but fought some nagging injuries in the 2nd half of the season. I'm not sure whether Ross Tucker is a front line Starter at LG. Plus Jennings looks like he'll leave at OT . So the Bills may need to sign 2 FA's to solidify the left sign of the line. That's the QB's blind side. Think about that. Little wonder TD didn't give DB a rousing endorsement as the #1 QB for 2005. Something tells me TD knows he needs a little bit more mobility from the QB position, heading into 2005. In looking at the Buff news article in this mornings paper, TD seems more interested in talking about JP. Talks about how he needs to get into the film room with Wyche and get ready with lots of reps during the off-season. You'll read it later and see what I mean.
  11. From the front 4. Agreed. Bills can't blitz the Safety and LB most every play. That leaves someone uncovered and wide open. Remember all the 3rd and long conversions against the D ? McGee could have used some Safety help in his "rookie" year as a starter. He was schooled more than he deserved. The kid is talented but many times, that wasn't fair to him. .
  12. The new 49ers Owner, John York, is cheap. He would offer Carroll complete control, which may intrigue him but that team has a horrible 53 man roster. They need 3 years to build up that roster. Meanwhile, whether Matt Leinhart returns or not, USC should be the pre-season #1 in August 2005 and deservingly so. They are flat out LOADED. I follow the college game and watch the recruiting progress each year. Carroll has been cleaning house in the recruiting wars. Very likely they'll be playing in the National Championship game again in a year. He should stay at USC and forget the NFL. He's never looked better and had a poor rep in the NFL.
  13. Busted ! Fat Mike preaching his outright love for Parcells is sickening.
  14. So's the delete button. The art of Might Makes Right.
  15. Agreed. Plus Teague was legit at C this year.
  16. Call in and tell them Parcells is Gay.
  17. http://espn.go.com/page2/s/list/bestbowls.html This is a great list.
  18. Why did Anderson have to kick poorly, back in his rookie year ? I believe he missed all 5 of his FG attempts in that Bills pre-season.
  19. He'll go in the 2nd round.
  20. Definitely need a Kicker. Mike Nugent would be a huge upgrade, especially on kickoffs.
  21. Actually, if they desire an impact player in Round 2, K Mike Nugent of Ohio St. would be a big upgrade. Lindell was very poor with his kickoffs in many games, costing us valuable field positions. He barely made some of those short FG's in the 20-40 yard range. Beyond 40, Lindell is a total adventure. We can upgrade the OL with solid Vet FA's. Let's see what's available. Rookies take years to make an impact on the OL.

  23. From the Olean Times, some stark reality . The Bills’ nine wins came against teams with a 55-89 record (.382 pct.) and only two clubs, the Jets (10-6) and Seahawks (9-7), that finished with winning records. By contrast, their seven losses were to teams with a combined mark of 76-36 (.679 pct.), the only one with a losing season in that group being Oakland (5-11). In short, Buffalo was 7-1 against non-winning clubs and 2-6 against teams over .500. Thus, the question. Are the Bills on the cusp of joining the NFL’s elite, or are they merely at the top of the middle class? That winning streak came against below average to bad teams. 9-7 may be as good as this team actaully is. Bills obviously can't beat the Steelers or Pats. Where do the Bills need to get stronger or receive better production ? 1. 2-3 OL positions 2. TE 3. #3 WR 4. QB 5. DE - Must improve against the run 6. Secondary depth Playcalling plays a part but often the positions mentioned above failed to play up to expectations. So can the present players improve or do the Bills actually need to make changes several positions to compete with the " A " teams ? Some have suggested we are 1,2 players away. I'm thinking it's much more than that or some of the present cast needs to elevate their games considerably. Bills are indeed moving in the right direction but lets not kid ourselves. We need more upgrading than people think. Good teams push us around. TD has some work to do.
  24. That explains the cheering from nowhere, when Bledsoe came on the field.
