  1. Give Ken the birthday boy a keg of Stella Artois ! Wow. That's hardly a figure of a starving owner and a franchise that's in trouble. I realize the current and future CBA's may draw on that a bit but show me the economic hardship, at present. That's still a healthy looking profit.
  2. I realize some here know, including myself. Guess or find the link. Waiting..
  3. Jesus never brought a team back from 32 points down to win a playoff game, like Frank Reich did. He also had the greatest comeback in College history. I know who the real Lazarus is !
  4. It's silly to worry about things you can't control. I have friends who have been telling me for 15 years that the Bills will be leaving within a year. Their logic is based on absolutely nothing outside of their own personal unhappiness and cynical attitude towards everything. Naturally, they don't buy tickets and would only go if you gave them a freebie. The Bills have a cheap out every year with the current lease and could leave anytime. And yet, here they are. Ralph will pass on in the next few years and maybe Tom Golisano or another person of wealth, with WNY loyalty, will buy the Bills try and keep the team here. If they leave, then I watch more college games on Saturday and play with the family more on Sunday. Life goes on.
  5. The law of averages, I suppose. We received a 3rd for Henry due to his youth, recent production and the fact other teams wanted him outside of the Titans. He also came with a cheap contract. That wound up being a steal, since Henry struggles with substance abuse and may never be the starter the Titans envisioned. A 33 year old WR with obvious declining skils, who had no other suitors outside of the Texans, left us with little leverage. Moulds is a shadow of his former self. If no one else shows any interest in matching those contract terms ( which were very high for Moulds ) then I suppose we should be pleased we got anything for him. Calling Marv weak or dumb in this case isn't justified. That big contract and his age scared off other teams. Most people in the NFL and the press were convinced he would be cut. Plus he's not in our division. Meshawn Johnson got cut and probably was worth more than Moulds. Carolina got him for free. Let's keep things in perspective.
  6. Kids are the best part of life. You'll love being a parent. Congrats !
  7. Agreed. Bloomberg failed miserably with his Manhattan stadium idea. Our County is broke and the State won't give a penny. It wasn't about a stadium, since ours is fine.
  8. Where ? Downtown ? Pipe dream. There is no room for parking. Plus, he'd never see it completed.
  9. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3694 While Ralph and everyone else knows the future of the Bills in WNY is questionable beyond the current CBA 6 year agreement or sooner ( his death ), I wonder what was actually said to Pataki yesterday ? Ralph has a cheap yearly out on the stadium lease but LA or any other city isn't ready for a franchise. Plus Ralph wouldn't move and remain the owner. He'd sell. Is he considering it at age 87 ? The inheritance tax upon his death would be extreme but is also negotiable. Maybe he doesn't want it to come to that. Could he be asking Pataki if he knows any $$ people in NY he could contact for a possible sale ? A buyer who would try and keep the team here ? I can't see this being a request for aid anymore. Doesn't add up. Interesting meeting. I bet Tom Golisano already knows exactly what was discussed. Call it a hunch.
  10. I realize Auburn, BC and Wisconson will hammer UB but they get paid a boatload of cash from each of those teams, which will help upgrade the program long term.
  11. Having a bottle of Killians as I type. If it's a 5th rounder, I'm switching to 40 oz Old English.
  12. If not, let's head to the Ralph and start a bonfire. I'll bring beer.
  13. Speculation, based on a legacy/ego angle over actual understanding of the CBA. The % that the small market teams will receive from the big market teams is erased over the the 6 years of the current agreement with the increase in the player salary cap. So this is basically a 6 year extension of keeping small market teams on life support instead of addressing the issue long term. The agreement was garbage for the small market teams. That Mike Brown and Ralph didn't fall into line like Wayne Weaver and other gutless lemmings doesn't make him senile. His appearence in a news conference doesn't influence my thinking whatsoever, like the small of mind. Ralph knows he, Brown and other small market owners get another 6 years to barely make ends meet, instead of solving the problem long term. By then, Ralph will probably be gone and a new owner will be in place. I've been going to the games since the 60's so the history lesson of Ralph and his finances are not needed. I could have folded like many of my friends, who tell me yearly the Bills are leaving. The Bills have a cheap buyout with the county they can exercise at any time and bolt. They could have done this for the last several years but yet, here they are. I'll enjoy the Bills for the next 6 years and then observe the next CBA. Why worry ? It's something we can't control. Can't wait for the Draft and the 2006 season.
  14. Ding,ding,ding ! We have a winner !
  15. Yes. I also have a sense of humor . You should look into getting one.
  16. Hopefully, he won't show up at a local telethon with the shakes.
  17. KFFL Flash NFL | Losman Looks Baked At Kids Escaping Drugs Telethon Sun, 2 Apr 2006 21:45:58 Reports of J.P. Losmans' uncontrollable shaking at a Buffalo Telethon has forced Coach Dick Jauron to place Craig Nall as the starter on the Bills QB depth chart. NFL officials are on their way to administer a league drug test. J.P. Losman declined comment while devouring 4 Mighty Taco burritos.
  18. DT's are deep into Round 3. Plus it's a 3-4 man rotation at DT. Huff is good but I'm open to trading down for more picks if offered the opportunity. Very deep Draft at OG,LB,DT,TE and DB. This just in. The Draft doesn't start and end with the 1st round. I'm sure many here have already made up their small minds that no matter who the Bills Draft in Round 1, they will scream if it's not a certain player they like.
  19. You were watching a telethon ? How weird.
  20. Regardless of Losman, I still like the Throwbacks much better than the current Denver Broncos' rejects we wear. To each their own.
  21. Casserly was at USC for the teams pro day Sunday. It was reported nothing would get done until this week.
  22. Yes and no. Our want list may read Mario Williams, Ferguson, Hawk, Huff, maybe Davis. What if they're all gone after the top 7 picks ? Could happen if teams ahead of us lose interest in Cutler/Young or some unknown doesn't get picked above the projected top 10. I can't see DT as a value pick in Round 1. Pray the phone rings for an opportunity to trade down or that pick suddenly becomes a leap of faith towards someone who may have been ranked lower than the #8 slot.
  23. Ngata or Bunkley wouldn't play every D snap. Not in this D. A 3 or 4 man rotation has been mentioned by the Bills in this Cover 2. So you'd pay a guy top 10 money to stand on the sidelines for 30-40 % of the Defensive snaps ?
  24. I like the thinking of this Draft with the first 3 picks. Substitute another OG,OT instead of Whitehurst and you're doing well. Those 1st 3 guys would be instant starters. We could wave goodbye to the 57 year old Vincent, if Huff is selected.
