  1. And the young folk wonder why the Dolphins are so hated in Buffalo. The Pats don't even come close. Lose 20 straight games to a divisional opponent and listen to them mock you, like Kuchenberg did. The Pats rivalry doesn't hold a candle, next to this. Choke on it Bob and all you '70's Dolphin bastards. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  2. Great minds think alike.
  3. I'm just pleased Bob Kuchenburg was passed over...again ! Didn't even make the final 10. Hey Bob, remember all your Bills putdowns during the '70's ? Right here, buddy. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  4. Pollard and Friedman are from the old days. Pollard was the first Black HC and Friedman was a QB ( who actually could pass) from the 1920's. Only Dan Marino and Steve Young from the modern age.
  5. Dan Marino, Benny Friedman, Fritz Pollard, Steve Young.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs04/n...tory?id=1984482 I remember when James Lofton was inducted in the HOF, he went to shake Bednariks hand after his speech. Bednarik bitched at him for the long speech and squeezed Loftons hand as hard as he could, breaking a knuckle. Talk about combat fatigue. Just a sad story.
  7. They should include a matching tiara, with the word " Slut " spelled out in rhinestones. Completes the outfit nicely.
  8. If Gale Sayers hadn't been hurt so young, in 1968, he'd be #2 or #3. Jim Brown is still the greatest player ever, period. Sayers was surrounded by 10 stumps and still was the most exciting RB I ever saw. Only O.J. and Barry Sanders came close to his style. Simpson was more of a slasher with great speed . Sanders had the great moves just like Sayers but never came close to his speed. Sayers had it all.
  9. Dead on. When ESPN achieves a rating of 1 % ( 800,000 homes ) for an NHL playoff game, the advertisers go elsewhere. Old reruns of Law and Order do a 4%. How can the players justify high salaries when a major TV contract is non-existent? The Owners take on the risk and the debt. The players still believe they are a major sport, on level with Football, Basketball and Baseball. This just in.... They're not. Disband the NHL and start from scratch. They'll come back and play for 1 Mil when they find out McDonalds pays less. This is long overdue.
  10. I plead the 5th. ..though I'd rather drink one...
  11. Maybe he prefers quiche !
  12. They must have a HOF for everything . I read the new hire, Roll, is in the Strength and Conditioning HOF. No joke. Jones ideal was conditioning, endurance. A more lean player. Worked well with the no-huddle type offensive players. Lineman were smaller, quicker. Roll likes his guys bigger and stronger. Likes his lineman to look like the old Redskin Hogs, who just outsized and overpowered their opponents. That's probably a fair example.
  13. I just don't see why this is a big concern/story. The guy who Mularkey hired had a different style. That's basically it.
  14. Actually, his 2005 cap hit, with bonus, is $8,775,000
  15. Who do you suppose was the first person to look at a chicken and say "I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes out that chickens ass.." ?
  16. Drew passed his threshold in 2003.
  17. Why doesn't the fattest man in the world become a hockey goalie?
  18. Why do people always remember where they were when someone famous was killed? Do they feel perhaps they'll need an alibi?
  19. Angus (Ithaca, NY): If Drew Bledsoe was a tree, what kind of tree would he be? Bill Simmons: (10:52 AM ET ) A tree that was better 10 years ago.
  20. Eyes.. I'm watching films of Bledsoe. Make it stop, TD.
  21. Next week, Bob Denver (Gilligan) comes running out of thick brush, yelling " Skipper, Skipper " . I'm sensing some rating concerns.
  22. Never. You and John are on equal ground here.
