  1. I don't get the Dilfer legend at all. He basically excelled at one thing during the Ravens SB run...not turning the ball over. Inconsistent arm. Little to no touch. A good backup, at best. Holcomb was a better option, until they found their future guy in the draft.
  2. DB choked in big games with the Bills. I could care less about what he did in New England, prior to coming here. He had a very impressive first 8 games in 2002 and a less than impressive 40 games since. Stats don't tell the whole story or he'd still be here. The absolutely galling turnovers which cost the Bills key games, finally convinced the Coaching staff he could only do so much. The Bills had 10 total TD's in 2004 from the ST's and Defense. Drew did OK with a short field but played poorly in most games. JP is completely unproven but so is every QB when he gets his first start. By your logic, Montana should have never replaced DeBerg, Eisason in for Ken Anderson, Marino in for Woodly, Pennington in for Testeverde and on and on and on. All those other vets with good career stats/success were replaced. But Bledsoe, the almighty Deity, cannot be replaced by a high draft pick. I've been going to games since the '60's and know subpar play when I see it. Drew Bledsoe deserved to be send packing after 2003, let alone last month. Feel free to keep perpetuating the myth. He's in Dallas and I wish him the best. He offered this team little hope. I'm very pumped for this upcoming season. Go Bills !
  3. Henrys' agent. That went on cruise control over everyone, my eggheaded friend.
  4. Can his "windowlic" score be adjusted ?
  5. Gandy could be used as a versitile backup as Marcus Price was or could compete for a starting spot. Too early in Free Agency to speculate. He has starting experience at both OG and OT. Suffered a hammy injury last season and was waived by Chicago, knowing his contract was expiring. Obviously, he's healed. The QB position is now set.
  6. No. I think BGIM is saying we need more to go on than the rantings/fantasies of someone on a message board. This rumor is baseless. Show a link to give it some credibility.
  7. I don't know if the Bills would want to give up a 3rd for Shelton. I still see a few RT's and plenty of Guards out on the market. If they are cosidering moving Mike Williams to the left ( pure speculation ) then it would make zero sense. TD should stick to his guns of Henry for Shelton, unless he's completely sold on Shelton as his next starting LT.
  8. Some of your points are valid and TD isn't above criticism at all. He'll feel the heat if the Bills do not produce. The Cap age makes roster shuffling a given and it's critical to hire the right Coach and a good staff. He blew that the first time around and did much better with Mularkey and this stable of asst.'s. The draft is always a dice roll and signing Free Agents can be tricky, unless you insist on overpaying like some GM's. I wasn't pleased at all in 2003 but can see far too many positives from the 2004 season to carry a cynical view into 2005. This is the best this team has looked in several years and TD is still working on plugging a few holes right now. It's the time for optimism and improving the roster. Setting lineups now and passing judgement is completely silly when the Free Agency period is 3 days old.
  9. Sounds good. I'll let Steve know.
  10. Darin shoots varmits in his yard and living room. Think of what you're saying.
  11. but is he Fair and Balanced ? Nickname him Fox Holcomb ?
  12. Darin, from what has been stated, the playbook is being opened up for Losman. Many more plays/formations have been added. If Holcomb can run many of them, I have zero issues. The guy is very accurate in the short to medium range passing game. Doesn't have JP's arm but it's decent. I don't expect him to scramble, just roll out a little to avoid the rush and spot his secondary receiver.
  13. Well, I just posted my lack of understanding for a QB who can't move well but he's an experienced backup. Seems the Bills would have to change the playbook for him. If that's what the Bills want, I'm behind them and certainly trust the judgement of Clements,Wyche and Mularkey. He has tons of experience. Another need filled.
  14. Holcomb ? He makes Bledsoe look mobile. That makes zero sense.
  15. WGR radio's target audience.
  16. We pay peanuts. Virginia roasted, to be exact.
  17. Thanks Tom. I corrected my mistake. Back to drooling.
  18. Did " Lamar " accept your chocolates ?
  19. You encourage smack from people who are borderline droolers ? What does that say about the audience you attract ?
  20. I did hear that he was really struggling with one knee all last year. Just speculating but maybe the Gandy signing is his replacement. Maybe, maybe not.
  21. Mike Williams improved by leaps and bounds as the 2004 season wore on. We all know about the problems entering camp but his press during the season improved each week. Received plenty of props by the local press. His contract can be reworked ( I bet it will ). Maybe the plan to move him to LT is already in place, especially with the mobile Losman as our QB. Still seems to be several starting RT's out on the market and even more Guards. Gandy is a versitle depth/backup signing and comes cheap, little doubt. I still see TD calling several other OL as we speak. I also trust McNally to identify talent. TD stated the Offense would be addressed at the Bledsoe press conference and I have little doubt he's playing his cards with certain targeted candidates as we speak.
  22. I see this guy as a versitile replacement candidate for the roster spot previously held by Marcus Price. Can play Guard and Tackle. Nothing more. If he turns out, great. If not, who cares ? The Bills will still sign more OL but some posters refuse to pass up ANY opportunity to critisize and b!tch.
  23. I hope they got him at " Fair Market " value.
