  1. Shelton was in Buffalo a few weeks back. The Bills did check him.
  2. I saw that Mort report. I believe there must be some agreement in principle between the Cards and Bills concerning Shelton and Henry. While the press reports the 2nd round pick scenerio, it could wind up being a shift of picks in round 3, an extra 2nd day pick for the Bills or an extra conditional pick in 2006. It probably won't be made official until draft day, depending on what the Cards do in Round #1. They might be hoping to trade down a few spots, aquiring extra picks, and picking up some defensive help, rather than a QB. Then the Bills trade can be completed, knowing what extra picks they have.
  3. Scream at TD about the OL and tell him what an egomaniac he is.
  4. Why ? I read it here every day, on several levels.
  5. Oh no. Damons is closed. That means we're down to about 1500 good places to eat/drink in WNY.
  6. Who cares about that ? Lets talk about about far more important issues on a football board. Have you ever been arrested ? What TV shows did you watch last night ? What's for lunch ? What color are your socks ? Are you part of a posse or own a cowbell ?
  7. That pouting he pulled on Holmgren after losing the rushing title by a yard. How suicidal was that ? Horray team !
  8. Of course it makes no sense to you. You're not trying to think up conspiracy theories as to why certain moves were made, instead of just observing they were either good or bad moves. Hiring Gregg Williams, drafting certain players etc. were bad moves and the criticism is warranted. Twisting it into some power hungry evil plot to get revenge on the Steelers or move the team out of Buffalo are the M.O. of some of our resident Smacktards, who can't produce any hard evidence or understand the negative backlash.
  9. Takeo Spikes. I'm trying to think like you.
  10. $$$$ Plain and simple. Alexander is seeking a huge, long term contract with a large bonus. If the Cards feel they need to Draft their QB of the future, then you're talking 5 Mil a year minimum with a 10 Mil + signing bonus. That's probably the ballpark Alexander is asking for also. Same with E. James of the Colts. The Cards have multiple needs and can't just dump their entire future cap on 2 skill positions, QB and RB. This makes Henry a more attractive option, at present.
  11. As President of the Team, he also oversees the day to day operations of the entire organization. An 86 year old owner does not have the time to start another complete rebuild job. Once we go 4-12, that will happen. I'm frustrated with the last 2 seasons, especially 2003 and the first month of 2004. Still, I can see too many positives coming out of last years finish to toss away hope.
  12. OG or Center in Round 2. The only wildcard ( I'm guessing) may be Attaj Hawthorne, the DT from Wisconson. That's the guy Krumrie was impressed with when he did his mauling routine on him at Wisconsons' pro day. ( That is why Tim Anderson was drafted last year ) For the OL , we need players who are ready to start NOW. So waiting for them to put on 20 lbs. or work through multiple issues isn't an option early. Only a few players fill this need. C- Chris Spencer - Ole Miss - 6-4 310 - Good athlete, moves well. Powerful blocker. - 2nd round projection. G- Elton Brown- Virg. - 6-4 1/2 329 - Best pure Guard in the draft. Great size and strength. Dominates his man. Will probably be gone by the Bills pick. Late 1st or 2nd round projection G/C - David Baas - Michigan - 6-4 1/2 319 - 50/50 shot at being there in Round #2. Attractive because he could start immediately at either Center or Guard. He's that good. Solid in both the running and passing game. Great technique and strength. Nasty streak. - 2nd round projection. G- Chris Kemoeatu - Utah - 6-3 1/2 344 - Mega strong - Average athlete who may not pull well but a complete road grader for the running game. Nasty, a bit of a temper. Suspended 2 years ago for stomping a player after a play. Dominant run blocker. - 2nd round projection G- Claude Terrell - New Mexico - 6-2 343 - Average to good in pass protection. Dominant in the Running game. Strong Road Grader will trample his man. Smart and shows good technique. Average athlete but good in the short field. Started all 4 years. Moved to OT as a senior but is better suited for Guard, his natural position. - Projected as a 3rd rounder.
  13. Never say never but it cleared 50 yesterday. No snow left in my neighborhood .
  14. Yes, I like good wine. Of course not. I actually prefer domestics. My In-Laws have been to Paris a few times and like French Wine. Just being nice to those who feed me. On to dinner !
  15. Burritos from Mighty Taco. Going to my Brother-in-laws. Ham and all the fixings. Labatt Blue ( that's all he ever drinks ) . Bought a couple bottles of French Wine ( Chardonnay and Merlot ).
  16. Gary Anderson was our 7th round pick in 1982. Went 0-5 in the pre-season and was cut.
  17. Kicker Mike Nugent ! Yep, it's not so they secure a shot at a top Guard like Elton Brown or David Baas, or a DT like Anttaj Hawthorne. It's Nugent. Could you imagine ?
  18. Nice job, VA. Doesn't seem anyone else, at present, is interested in Anderson. Seems the Bills could sign him for the Vet min. or slightly above, if they wanted to. Hoping the Shelton deal goes through, plus a top road grader Guard is one of our 2 picks on Day 1 of draft day. Anderson keeps losing $$ every day and could be signed later for peanuts. I wonder how his conditioning is. Then again, I wonder how Sheltons conditioning is, which is why the Bills shouldn't fart around too long with this proposed deal. Making sure he's in playing shape by summer should be an important consideration.
  19. No ketchup... Franks hot sauce. Mmmmmmm.
  20. Aquiring Shelton and drafting a top Guard on day one would be a good plan.
  21. Those YesNo Wacko's.
  22. That's the ticket. Another fav is something most people hate. Liver and onions.
