  1. Yeeeaaaahhh...its good to know we wasted a pick on this guy. No way is he going to contribute with missing so much time. Great.
  2. They've got a lot to prove...but we've known that for months. And lets remember, one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL last year won a Superbowl. And the Patriots, during their first SB win, projected to have a terrible O-Line that season. And the Giants of the 2000 season were also said to have a young, inexperienced O-Line that would cost them a dozen wins...they won the SB that year too. The Bills O-Line is the key to this season, no doubt about it...but preseason projections seem fairly useless.
  3. Honestly, this is one of the few times I'm actually glad we kept drafting secondary players.
  4. I got a sinking feeling that this isn't going to end before the regular season starts.
  5. I know for a fact that he was here (in Orchard Park) for most of the offseason. He was always over at the stadium, working in the weight room and constantly trying to get himself in the best possible shape he could. I'm very happy all of that work is paying off for him.
  6. From our good friend John Wawrow's article today: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...p&type=lgns Looks like Scott is day-to-day and Florence is out at least a week. Luckily we have a disturbing amount of depth at CB...Youboty needs to have a big game this weekend to help solidify his spot on the roster.
  7. Doesn't look like he's signing any time soon.
  8. Championship!
  9. They were, as the kids say, "hauling ass" during the game. One thing that will be interesting to see is whether or not that high tempo lasts throughout a game. It's one thing when you rotate all three strings in and they take turns, but I'm very eager to see if our starters can keep that speed up for 4 QTRs.
  10. Blisters?
  11. I absolutely agree...but I think the Bills have shown that they are satisfied with the current squad so they won't be bringing anyone else in. If we won't sign a FA to compete with Ellison, we sure as hell won't bring one in for depth.
  12. Just thinking, someone should start a "Where do you sit" thread. I'd love to know who's around me, now that I'm actually living in Orchard Park and have seasons
  13. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...a1-f3c2bfee5a85 According to the article on BB.com, Byrd is "ready to go" which leads me to believe he'll start practicing right away and has an outside chance of playing this weekend. Great news. NOW WHERE THE HELL IS MAYBIN!
  14. Eh, I'm a horrible human being.
  15. Heeeeeeeeeeyyyy...that was a dig...I think...
  16. Yay! I'm useful!
  17. Anyone else having trouble with avatars not showing up? Or am I just brain-dead? Either answer is acceptable.
  18. Sorry if this has been posted before, oh fellow Wallers, but I had never heard of it before. I was flipping through one of my fantasy football magazine and they rank the starting CBs in terms of how many times they were targeted, how many TDs they gave up and their percentage of being burned with one-on-one coverage in 2008. Here are the worst starting CBs according to Sports Illustrated (in terms of percentage of being burned, starting with the worst) 1. Ronde Barber (Bucs): 94 times targeted, gave up 8 TDs (8.5% burned) 2. Rashean Mathis (Jags): 64 times targeted, gave up 5 TDs (7.8% burned) 3. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Cards): 92 times targeted, gave up 7 TDs (7.6% burned) 4. Nate Clements (49ers): 100 times targeted, gave up 7 TDs (7.0% burned) 5. Anthony Henry (Lions): 89 times targeted, gave up 6 TDs (6.7% burned) Here are the best starting CBs (starting with the best) 1. Cortland Finnegan (Titans): 91 times targeted, gave up 0 TDs (0% burned) 2. Brandon Flowers (Chiefs): 86 times targeted, gave up 0 TDs (0% burned) 3. Sheldon Brown (Eagles): 68 times targeted, gave up 0 TDs (0% burned) 4. Nnamdi Asomugha (Raiders): 35 times targeted, gave up 0 TDs (0% burned) 5. Terrence McGee (Bills): 108 times targeted, gave up 1 TD (0.9% burned) Pretty interesting stuff, just call him McLockdown. What amazed me was that McGee was targeted A LOT last season and really held up his own. Considering that McKelvin has another year under his belt and has looked like a phenom in preseason so far (not to mention the insane amount of depth we have in the secondary), I really think teams are going to have fits throwing against us this year. If Schobel and Maybin can show up and give us solid pressures (not even sacks, just good consistent pressure around the edge that forces QBs to rush throws) we should have ourselves a handful of INTs this season.
  19. UP: Jonathan Stupar: Tough as nails, incredibly hard worker, opens up holes in the running game and makes the difficult catches over the middle. Kicked my ass in Halo 3 last week too Ellis Lankster: I think Mr. Lankster has figured this NFL game out. What impresses me is that we've been hearing about him consistently. I hate hearing positive reports about a player in the offseason...or in training camp...and then they never amount to anything when it comes time to showing up on the field. Fluff pieces are fine and dandy, but I need to see results. We've heard nothing but great things about his offseason and he's exploded during the preseason. Bodes well for his future. Nic Harris: Not only is he a disruptive force on the field, but his energy is contagious. I watched him on the sidelines just jumping around, headbutting other players...call him Electro because the man is simply electricity. Lets hope he keeps up this high level of play and sends Ellison to the bench (or the unemployment line...God I hate Ellison and his high school frame). DOWN Ataefiok Etukeren: Granted, he had no shot at making the team anyways...but damn this guy was atrocious. Whiffed on the QB twice last night, and managed to trip over himself in the process. Will probably be the player we release when Maybin signs tomorrow. John McCargo: Injured again last night...after an entire offseason of praise, he just can't seem to put it together on the field when it counts. Derek Schouman: He starts again because...?
  20. Ellison was definitely the starter...I know because I watched him meet Bears RB Kevin Jones in the backfield on one play...and then watched as Ellison got driven backwards for a 4 yard gain. He needs to go.
  21. Lets not overlook Jonathan Stupar here. He was doing a fantastic job at boxing out the coverage and making the tough catches over the middle. Plus, I watched him bowl over a defensive end to make some running room for Hall later in the game. He's had one hell of a camp and an even better first two games. This guy is going to make it on this squad.
  22. Seconded. There is nothing that this guy brings to the table that the other TEs can't do better.
  23. Here's hoping for a quick and speedy recovery...we need those guys.
