  1. Ayup. I remember when he came back last year there was an entire thread dedicated to what a great move it was bringing back this brilliant football mind. Now he's a senile loser.
  2. Agreed. If he comes in as an assistant or, at best, a regional scout I'll be okay.
  3. Has anyone posted a "GIT ER DONE BUDDY" yet? If not, I claim it!
  4. I agree with him to some extent, as in the Bills NEED to make a splash with the coach signing. If they hire a Haslett or some no-name coordinator, expect early season ticket renewals to plummet. However, if they bring in a Cowher or a Schottenhimer...then that will at least build some excitement around the team and keep interest relevant.
  5. Now the Thurman thing makes NO sense. If they bring him in as a scout, I would hope he would start at the bottom. Maybe scouting Alaska or something.
  6. I cannot believe some people are complaining about his age. Isn't Bill Parcells 69 years old this year? Will he go senile too and forget about football?
  7. ICE, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm just as pissed as you are over the Bills cheapskate ways over the last decade, but this would be a good hire in my books.
  8. Nix has been with the Bills ONE YEAR. His last stint with us ended in 2000, so there is no way in hell he could even be partly blamed for the abortion the Bills call football over the last decade. While away from the Bills, all he did was help build the Chargers into perennial SB contenders and brought them a disgusting amount of Pro Bowlers in the process. You're right, he blows. Bring in "OTHER OUTSIDE GM HERE" because he's different!
  9. So say the Bills brought in someone from outside the organization to be the GM...what makes you think Ralph would give that person more power than he's going to give Nix/Modrak/Whoever the in-house promotion to GM would be? I agree with you that, in the end, the GM only has as much power as Ralph is going to give him. But I don't think people should dismiss Nix based on the fact he's in-house. The guy can recognize talent, his drafts prove that.
  10. Nix oversaw drafts that netted the following players: LaDainian Tomlinson, Drew Brees, Quentin Jammer, Igor Olshansky, Michael Turner, Shaun Phillips, Shawne Merriman, Luis Castillo, Vincent Jackson, Darren Sproles, Antonio Cromartie and Marcus McNeill. Yes, I'll take me a piece of that.
  11. If Modrak gets the job, the chances that Cowher will come here gets bumped up a notch. If Nix gets the job, the chances that we'll actually bring in quality FAs (and draftees) gets bumped a notch. To be honest, I REALLY hope Nix is our new GM. He's the type of football mind we need making decisions.
  12. Yeah, I call bull on this one. No way Cowher comes here, if he IS interested it's just so he can float more money out of other teams. Not going to happen.
  13. A 3rd for Michael Vick. A 7th for Troy Smith
  14. Throw em' on the IR pile and lets sign some more Green Bay practice squaders.
  15. Absolutely agree, our brothers-in-misery are Bears fans.
  16. 3 winning seasons (including a SB visit) out of 8 is a hell of a lot better than a decade of nothing. He's got a 68-57 record as a HC and a .625 win percentage in the post-season. I'd take Fox in a heartbeat if the Shanahans and the Cowhers of the world turn us down. Hell, Fox should have been our coach in 2001 if Ralph only hired people based on talent and merit and not interview skills.
  17. It wasn't long ago that he was deciding between the Bills and the Niners over what team to sign with. Looks like we dodged that bullet.
  18. I hope we keep him for next season. He's a good guard who could give us some much needed depth.
  19. Agreed...if we re-sign Simmons in the offseason (we should) and Wood can recover from that horrific knee injury, we are absolutely set along the interior of our O-Line. Our first rounder should be spent at tackle however as signing a stud LT will likely be the only move we could make during free agency and this team has far too many holes to only make one splash in FA. Draft the best tackle available in the first, heck maybe even spend our 2nd on another strong OT as well depending on who is on the board. Our linebacker and DT improvements should come via free agency.
  20. Whoooooooo! He's instantly our best offensive lineman!
  21. For those looking for a silver lining: Has started every game he's played in and blocked for a 4,000-yard passer, 1,500-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers (according to the bastion of human knowledge, Wikipedia). For those glass-half-emtpyers: Voted one of the dirtiest players in the NFL by the players themselves, constantly fined, personal foul machine.
  22. Oh man, I totally saw this one coming. Still though, guess you can never have too many O-Lineman...regardless of how crazy they are. Being honest here though, he was someone I really wanted the Bills to draft coming out of college...but the dude is just erratic.
  23. I'll be there...let's take out the Pats! PLEASE Bills...win this game.
  24. *sigh* Okay, let me go ahead and do this then. Since we're bringing up who we should have drafted, lets do another comparison. Stats through Week 14: Jairus Byrd: 45 tackles, (33 solo, 12 assists) 11 passes defended and 9 INTs. Everette Brown: 16 tackles (12 solo, 4 assists) 2 passes defended and 1.5 sacks. Now I'll grant you that as it appears right now we totally screwed up our first rounder by not taking a more proven commodity like Orakpo or Cushing instead of a project like Maybin, if we listened to the fans we would have passed on Byrd in the second.
