  1. Agreed with everything except slot WR...not like Josh Reed's 291 yards are going to be too difficult to replace...
  2. I like Trent Williams too. The worst thing you can say about him is that he's just been inconsistent. I know thats not a great characteristic but it's a heck of a lot better than the "lazy" or "uninterested" or "needs to grow up" phrases tossed at Davis.
  3. I hope Whitehurst does sign with Arizona. It'll keep the temptation away from Buddy.
  4. Sounds good to me. It's a little further back, but Houston could be willing to give up a lot to get a guy like Spiller as well. They're currently sitting at #20 and would have to leapfrog quite a bit.
  5. ...you're Billy the Buffalo, aren't you? Come clean man.
  6. I like Spikes. I don't "#9 overall" like him, but I do like him. Can't hurt to have a sit down with the guy and find out a little more about him.
  7. I absolutely agree. Bill Parcells once said that for every starter you have on your O-Line, you must have a competent backup at each position. Not 1 backup guard or 1 backup tackle for your entire team (like the Bills tend to do), but one backup LT, LG, C, RG and RT. To play the devil's advocate here, let's assume Wood can make it back this year and start. With Incognito gone and Simmons a UFA, we don't have any competent backup at either guard spot. So yes, I feel like this is still a huge need. I honestly hope the Bills sign 1 more FA Guard and 1 more FA tackle with some starting experience. Then when the draft rolls around, take a OT early (1st or 2nd round) and a late round Guard and Center prospect and let training camp sort them out. Only then would I feel comfortable with the depth on the O-Line.
  8. That's our schtick. We like to outbid ourselves for players. 2nd rounder now!
  9. Ewwwwww...come on Sporting News, you're better than that.
  10. Spiller is going to be a damn good NFL player...but dear God, not for us. We have a lot of problems on this team but running back is not our top priority. O-Line! O-Line! O-Line! QB! QB! QB! Red Endzones! Red Endzones! Red Endzones. Sorry...spazzed out a bit for a second there.
  11. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro! The avatar is actually from a show called The Venture Brothers that features a character called "Hunter" who is basically Hunter Thompson as a government agent. Same mannerisms, same sayings and same gonzo as the good doctor, just in an animated form.
  12. Right now we are desperately thin along the interior of the O-Line. We only have Andy Levitre. Eric Wood might not be ready to play this season, so consider him out for the time being. We let Richie Incognito walk and probably wont re-sign Kendall Simmons, so the only other interior O-Lineman we have left is Kirk Chambers. The Bills need to add some veteran experience to the interior O-Line.
  13. An update on Smith: http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2010/03/08/a...hiefs-ol-smith/ He left Houston without a contract, but he's headed to Arizona next. Funny, for a guy that had a lot of people bitching and moaning, he's had 3 interested teams invite him in during the first week of free agency. I feel like Arizona is going to swoop in and steal a lot of the FAs we want here (Nick Eason, Wade Smith, Joey Porter, etc).
  14. By the way, I have to nominate this thread title as "One of the few titles to ever get me laughing right off the bat". You could just sense the desperation in Mike's OP.
  15. He's not a victim of the Oakland offense, he's just a bad football player these days. I wouldnt be surprised however to see the OTHER guy Oakland released today, Greg Ellis, come in for a visit fairly soon. He's got experience in the 3-4, he'll come cheap and (this amazes me) he actually was drafted by Chan Gailey in the first round waaaaaaay back in 1998. Doesn't that just sound exactly like the type of player we'll go after?
  16. Sign him up. Hell, sign up ANYONE with O-Line experience. Draft two tackles. Draft a guard. Mix well. Let training camp sort it out.
  17. I'm with you guys...I think they are feeling out fans' reactions right now but I'm getting the same feeling. If not Tebow, then equally wacky Colt McCoy
  18. Bills whiffed on this one...Jamal Williams would have been great.
  19. Better than the OT depth we have now (which is nothing)
  20. He's got a date with Arizona first though...he won't make it out of there.
  21. Excellent, hopefully we can sign Wade Smith soon too. The more O-Lineman, the better...they can only give us better depth. I'd still like to see us bring in another OT too.
  22. Front page of BB.com is now the combine interview with Tebow. The Bills are getting us ready for the pick!
  23. Absolutely true. Unfortunately there arent any available as UFAs at the tackle position unless we are willing to settle. My best guess for this season is we'll go to war with a rookie 1st rounder at LT and probably Jamon Meredith at RT with some good veteran depth behind them.
  24. Well then everything is coming up Milhouse! The more O-Line depth we have, the better.
  25. He really looked good during the last half of the season for Washington, lets remember he had some injury problems before that so I think it took him awhile to get back to his old self. I would definitely bring him in for depth and possibly even as a starter at RT. An O-Line of Draft Pick/Wood/Hangartner/Levitre and Jones is a hell of a lot more appealing to me than Draft Pick/Wood/Hangartner/Levitre and Draft Pick. Two rookie bookends scare the crap out of me.
