Holy crap! I actually got to meet him at Giants camp back in 2004, we did an interview for a website I was working for at the time.
He was an incredibly nice guy, used to give away his gloves and cleats to the fans after every practice which apparently infuriated the Giants equipment crew.

Dio was something of a cult figure with my fantasy league, often the league's name would be Dio related from year to year. I just got an email from our commish who recommended that we rename our fantasy football trophy the "Ronnie James Dio Memorial Trophy".

I saw Eric Wood a few days ago here at the apartments, the guy has no limp and looked like he just came back from working out over at OBD. His recovery is downright astonishing considering how gruesome he was hurt.
