Did anyone else hear this on Moulds?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Mile High's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eric Moulds I think realizes that the Lee Evans era in Buffalo is dawning, and his days as the #1 WR here are numbered. Thats not a bad thing though, he apparently recognizes that as he gets older, his skills (just like every other NFL player) decreases so naturally he's making sure that he restructures his deal in order to keep cash flowing to him in the twilight of his career. Very smart move on his part, and also helps us free more cash up to spend on the O-Line (re-signing Jennings, adding vets) in the offseason. -
Bates would be a great idea...well respected and intelligent coach. If he doesnt want to come here though, then Krumrie deserves the D-Coordinator job.

No team in the NFL is afraid of Bledsoe...in fact, I've heard several times that many fans feel that the Bills will never be a threat as long as Bledsoe is our QB. I tend to agree with that judgement. -
We're a clutch defense away from winning the SB

And our team lost. Some people need to get over it. It was a complete team screw-up. But I was expecting more from my fellow Bills fans, I really was. We act like this is the first time we've ever been knocked down. This team took a huge step forward this season, how many times could you honestly say that in the last 6 years? -
So true. Bledsoe needs to either be shown the door this offseason or faded out by Losman early in 2005. We go nowhere with Bledsoe in charge.

What do you suggest? Scrap the entire defense next season and start over? Kick out the D-Coordinator who the players all love? That'll go over smoothly I'm sure The team had a brain fart at the WORST possible time. It friggin sucks, but it happens. The defense pulled its weight a lot more then our offense did. -
TMQ Deservedly Criticizes Bills

So true, sadly our biggest coaching screw-up by Clements play calling HAD to came at the single worst time in the season. I still have faith in Clements, but you got to be wondering what the heck he was thinking on that play. -
The play by play... revealing and depressing
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Mickey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll last to our pick in the 2nd, I'm pretty sure on that. Not that he isnt a fantastic kicker, but unless your name is Al Davis, most teams normally dont draft a kicker until, at the earliest, the last half of the 2nd round. That puts us in perfect position to grab him. I say that if he's around, and as long as no superstar falls to us for some ungodly reason, we should definitely take him. Some people might object to us drafting a kicker with technically our first pick, but I believe those are the people who havent seen him kick. The kid is amazing to watch. -

The Defense also kept us in a lot of games when our offense crapped the bed. The Defense is NOT the problem. Decision making on offense is. -

I totally agree there, Lindell needs to be replaced. Thankfully, I think TD has finally realized that. Take Nugent in the 2nd round and watch our points per game in 2005 increase dramatically. We no longer have to punt at the 35 because Lindell cant hit the broad side of a barn. -

Our entire team was lost. It happens, but it does make the team stronger in the long run. I was reading Marv's book and he continually makes that point that only through adversity were the 90s Bills formed. Early screw-ups and mental mistakes paved the way for a predominating toughness that the entire team had. I see the same thing happening with this squad. -
Pittsburgh fans at the game
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Dr. Fong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually found the Steelers fans there very nice to be around and generally intelligent. They always are though, Steeler fans are some of the best in the NFL. They didnt gloat too much after the game, and actually were quite sympathetic to how close the Bills came. Plus, I was talking to a big group of them and we all agreed that the Patriot fans are EASILY the worst fans in the entire NFL...I guess they've had their problems with !@#$, arrogant Patriot fans as well. The things that can bring fans together... -
The one thing that the Steelers proved
BillsGuyInMalta replied to #89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that this team is close. A 9-7 record is nothing to be ashamed of. I'd throw in another CB as well (either a vet or high draft pick) just to solidify our pass defense. I'm still not comfortable with Kevin Thomas playing nickel. But think about it...we can get a kicker and speedy #3 guy in the draft. Then, use any offseason FA money to upgrade the O-Line and we are solid. -
We have "The Comeback" & "Music City Miracle".
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, I actually stayed away from this board for 2 days (even though I actually went to the game on Sunday), hoping that things would be better after a few days. Apparently I missed a series of suicides and "WHY GOD, WHY!?" posts. Damn my luck. 9-7 is better then how things looked at 0-4. We made some progress, took a step forward but arent quite ready to play with the big boys. A change at QB is needed, a new kicker (*cough cough* NUGENT *cough cough*) is required, and then as much depth as we can get. Yeah it really burns that we lost, and even though Bledsoe deserves a chunk of blame, the whole team crapped the bed. But this is honestly the first offseason where I've gone into it with hope for next season in the last 6 years. Its painful moments like these that bring a team together, you'll see a much stronger team in 2005 because of this painful lesson. -

Simple solution to our problem. Cut Lindell. Draft Mike Nugent in the Draft with our 2nd rounder. This kid is a beast, he is a master at kicking in crappy weather, and is automatic from anything 45 and under. We need a WEAPON at kicker, not a liability. Draft Nugent, and our special teams will be even better next year. -

Latest Weather Report for Sunday

Best line I've ever heard at a Bills game: "Oh good, its raining...Miami cant handle rain". And the guy was dead serious. -
Nah, I enjoy the view looking down on the unwashed masses.

And Broncos fans make sure he knows that at every home game. I've never seen a home crowd boo their own QB more then Denver fans have done since Elway retired. Sheesh, even we gave RJ a grace period! -

2005 NFL Free Agents
BillsGuyInMalta replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do still say we need another veteran CB to be brought in. I really love Clements and McGee, but Kevin Thomas has been beat a couple of times this year, probably due to his inexperience. Move Thomas back to the dime and bring in a vet who'll stand his ground. No one spectacular, just a veteran who can hold his own in the NFL. -

I have a really good feeling that the Jets will lose in St.Louis. It'll be close, but I see the Rams pulling it out in the last minute and ending the Jets playoff chances.

Oh dont get me wrong, I would say that 95% of all Pats fans I've come into contact with either in person or online are complete morons. In fact, I personally have issues with Pats fans since they were completely classless to certain members of my family during their 31-0 beatdown by the Bills at The Ralph last year.
-
They have all the right to be arrogant and be complete !@#$s. If we had a track record of two SBs in the last three years, we'd probably be that arrogant as well. Funny thing is, the Pats will receive NO pity from NFL fans when they crash back to Earth...they are truly overtaking the Cowboys fans in the 90s as the most obnoxious fans ever. And look at how much sympathy the Cowboys get these days. Just grin and bear it.
