  1. I posted this in another thread...but if you release Pierson and trade Henry for Shelton, its essentially a wash since Shelton carries a 3 million dollar hit. So you have 7 million dollars left...take 3 for the rookie pool and you've got 4 million dollars left to sign a stud LG (which, with the Andruzzi signing today, that can easily get you a damn good Guard). If we cant get Shelton, then we have to stretch around 5 million bucks for a new LT and LG...which wont happen. So cross your fingers that Shelton is on his way.
  2. I think the 7.5 million includes the rookie pool.
  3. Hey, its an Arizona blow-out sale...we'll take Shelton off their hands too...
  4. TD clearly spent all day masturbating and playing video games according to half of the people here...
  5. Whoops, there goes the Vikings plan...
  6. Reunited with Winfield I suppose...Pat went where the money was, no surprise there. Sadly, we'll have to wait until 2006 to see him again...and watch Willis run ALL over him
  7. I'm a huge Chris Spencer fan, I think he's capable of dominating his first year in the NFL...I'm just not that confident that TT can take over the LT spot without a problem.
  8. I always thought it was "The Gimp" from Pulp Fiction
  9. Signing bonuses arent the problem, I think Ralph has reached the point in his life where he's handing out bonuses like candy...its that cap we have to worry about. But, as stated, if great guards like Andruzzi are going at a rate this low, we should be fine at getting that LG upgrade.
  10. You're right, they do have #8 overall...but I hear a lot of rumblings this year about potential trade-ups for one of the top 3 RBs by teams needing a starter. I'm just saying that the Draft is a risky way to go for a starting RB because you dont control what the 31 other teams are doing. Miami and the Bucs could get their boys, and then another team could trade up and steal the remaining RB away, especially in a draft class that isnt that spectacular in terms of skill players like this one. So, it just seems to me the safer option is getting Henry for the Cards, thereby freeing them to improve another position with their #1 pick and not screwing them if the RBs are off the board before they get a chance to select.
  11. Oh man, are you going to get it.
  12. I dont think so, why else would Travis have visited them less than a week ago if the deal was pretty close to happening?
  13. I dont think he was a Guard that TD had targeted...thats a great sign though if Guards are going at such a low rate.
  14. This actually is a good thing for us. Now the best FA RB out there is off the market, the Cards have even less options if they want a starter at RB. They could risk the Draft, but they hold the #9 pick and the top 3 RBs could all be gone by then. This will make the Cards push harder for Henry now.
  15. Was there actual rumors that he was? I've been out of the loop for the last few days.
  16. None of us ever do...but he always seems to surprise us
  17. The more I think about it, the more I believe that Clayton was just guessing about the Bills/Cards trade, and a deal is coming closer and closer to happening. First off, the news of Travis wanting a "long-term deal" came out a day before his trip to Arizona, so if the Cards were SO put off by this, why did they still have him hang out with them and stay for a few days? Secondly, The Cards have a lot more holes on that team than just RB, and wasting their #1 pick on a RB when they just as easily could have gotten Travis AND used that first rounder to beef up their D-Line, LBs, CBs or TE situation wont do much to appease their fans. Exhibit 3: The Cards arent getting anything for Shelton that they'd like to get. All of this talk about them getting a 2nd-3rd rounder turned out to be insanely optimistic and a media ploy by them, and the best offer they have is a "second day pick" from the Bears. Lets see, a 5th round pick or a starting RB...yeah, really tough choice there fellers. Also shows they like to use the media to entice other teams to get a better offer, which leads me to my last thought... Finally, why did John Clayton bury this hot news item deep inside his own little web page instead of putting it out there? When they were sure that the Coles for Moss trade was dead, that was the main headline. Yet the Henry for Shelton deal is deeply buried in the NFL section, under another subsection and is only 2 sentences long. I think it was just a tool for the Cards to see if they could milk the Bills for more...I do see a trade happening, perhaps as soon as this weekend. It just seems like a deal is more likely to get done since both teams are in need of each other's player. Any thoughts? Perhaps I should take off the tin foil hat and get out more? Or anyone else thinking like I am?
  18. If we had more salary cap space, sure...as it stands, LT is our first priority before we can even think about getting any other FAs in here. It all starts with the O-Line, and I see the left side of it in shambles. IF we can get a LT in here though, then I'd love to see the Bills go after Pollard.
  19. Ugghh...you go to your room for that pun.
  20. Maybe to say that Jonas is leaving, so prepare yourselves for another LT? Of course, any true Bills fan would have realized this months ago...
  21. Try him out at kicker...cant be worse than what we got
  22. But BillsZone is so purdy!
  23. I completely agree with you...if we can get Shelton on this team (whether it be for Travis or for draft picks) then I'll just kick back and let the rest of the offseason fall as it will. Getting Shelton is the main key because then we dont have to worry about overpaying on the market for some guy who isnt worth the contract, rather than have our hand forced out of need. We land Shelton and then we'll have around 3 million left over to sign a guard, which EASILY would net us a solid player. It all hinges on Shelton for me. The second he's a Bill, I'm back to my usual mellow self...starting threads about asian lesbian octuplets and such.
  24. Well, being at 7 million bucks or so under the cap will let us sign a good free agent guard for sure...considering that we dont have to put so much towards the draft pool, but it's still going to be tight. Remember though, releasing Pierson frees up around 1.5 million bucks, so thats always an option.
  25. I think the Bills will draft a RB as the backup to McGahee. This is such a deep year at RB, we can easily snag a good backup in the 3rd round. Buuuuuuuuuuut, if TD & Company do want to go FA, I'm guessing its going to be Amos Zereoue.
