  1. the 15th or 16th of March I believe. Definitely next week...I'm just not sure whether new books/magazines get shipped to the stores on Tuesdays or Wednesdays anymore. I used to work at a Waldenbooks a few years ago and I knew that date by heart since I always made sure I got the first copy out of box. But its definitely one of those two dates.
  2. I was at the Pittsburgh game and I honestly think that the only play that the Defense really broke down was that backup RB's long run...and it came with Pat Williams getting pushed FAR back and out of the play. Plus, put the game into perspective...Drew & Company werent doing anything on offense, and the Defense was forced to be on the field for an insane amount of time. I remember them looking amazingly tired and I was hoping that our offense could give them a break, but alas...they couldnt. Reminded me a lot of the Todd Collins year when our Defense looked exhausted all the time since Collins couldnt string an offensive series together. No matter how good a Defense is, putting them on the field for 75% of the game always results in failure. No NFL conditioning is THAT good. Our Defense is damn good, and I dont share your pessimistic outlook that one player out of 11 will cause the downfall of our Defense. Pat Williams will be missed, but Ron Edwards or Tim Anderson I think can fill the void decently. Of course there will be a drop-off when you lose a player like Pat Williams, but it wont be back-breaking by any means. You sell the defense out too quickly...you blame them for not "winning" games, but they cant do everything by themselves. We cant beat teams unless the offense pulls its weight, and in some games it was a one sided affair.
  3. Yeah, our #2 overall Defense blows.
  4. Pedro offers you his protection...
  5. Thats what I'm hoping for as well...if the Bears can get Miller, then Shelton is even more likely to be a Bill. If not...they'll push hard to land Shelton and we might lose out.
  6. This helps in our efforts to move Henry...the Cards now have a decent offense in place, but no running game would let Defenses just let loose on Kurt all day long. So what do you do? Do you risk getting a rookie and having him be ineffective? What if he's one of those 1st rounders that just doesnt "get it" in the NFL, or takes a year to develop? Why risk that? Travis on the other hand has proved he can get +1000 yards a season and can step right in and produce. The Cards need to ship out Shelton anyways, why not complete their offense in one swift, cheap move? PLUS, this might kick Henry in the butt to quit on those idiotic contract demands and go there and show his worth.
  7. The Cowbell definitely is the tool of Satan...we need to get rid of it.
  8. Here is what I think is happening. Bears fans are hearing that TD is playing hardball with the Cards and forcing them to give up a draft pick to get Henry. Bills fans are hearing that the Cards dont want Henry unless the Bills throw in a draft pick of their own. My guess is that the Cards are trying to play up both stories in an attempt to get a better deal for Shelton. What works to our benefit however is that there are rumors circulating that teams like Minnesota and Philly are looking to trade up in the Draft to snag one of the top 3 RBs...and since the Cards draft 8th, they'll be gambling if they can land one of the studs or end up with a 2nd tier RB. I think they'll realize this and trade Shelton for Henry sooner rather than later.
  9. Kevin Carter would be a very nice pickup for the Fins, but Vonnie Holliday was a waste of a roster spot...the guy should be out of the NFL.
  10. As long as that rookie is: 1) Our 2nd round pick 2) An Interior O-Lineman Then I think we'll be solid. I dont want to see a 3rd round Tackle be plugged into our starting lineup or it'll end very badly. But, a guy like Chris Spencer as our Center would actually improve our O-Line IMHO.
  11. If the Henry for Shelton deal is indeed dead, lets stop screwing around and just ship them our 3rd rounder. I know, its a large price to pay, but it'll definitely get Shelton in a Bills uniform.
  12. Do people not remember that Trey Teague was BAD at LT when he played it a few years ago in Denver? And yes, I think that if TD fails to get Shelton, there is a stronger push to re-sign Marcus Price as long as he's healthy.
  13. Yep...thats a very good comparison...DeMulling had a very good season in 2004...I'd love to see him come in and fill our LG spot so that way Gandy can be used as depth instead of as a starter.
  14. Actual Left Tackles? Very few, if any good ones. Lots of tackles still around, but most of them are RTs.
  15. Whoa, this is weird (and only slightly related to this topic) but if you click on Gandy and Holcomb's bios on Buffalobills.com, they already have shots of them in Bills jerseys. At first I thought Gandy's could be a Bears one, but click on Holcomb and you'll see him wearing the same thing, and there is no way to confuse the Browns unis with the Bills ones. So apparently the first thing they did after signing a contract was slap on the jersey for the bio picture. Dont know why I find this interesting...probably because it shows that they were in town LONG before we knew about it.
  16. Already waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you. If its one thing that I love, its drunken shame. And midget prostitutes. Even better if the two are connected.
  17. If Baas is available when the Bills pick, they will definitely take him. From what I heard they fell in love with him at the Combine and Baas himself said they interviewed him at length. The way his reputation is flying though, he could now be a late 1st rounder...so we might not have a shot at him, even if we did trade up in the 2nd. I agree with your first two picks though, if we could get Baas and Spencer our O-Line would get some much needed relief and depth. However, I think the Bills go RB in the 4th and QB in the 5th as of this point. That could change if they pick up a FA RB to backup McGahee, but if not they need to pick a RB early on Day Two to help Willis out. Nichols is a great choice for the late rounds.
  18. Well, trading for LJ Shelton would fix our LT situation and allow Gandy to fight it out with Tucker for the LG spot. However, if we dont land Shelton, then a major overhaul of our O-Line is going to happen with either Teauge or Gandy as the LT...not very pretty. But I do think that TD has something up his sleeve...could be Shelton, could be another FA...even though its from John "I'm only wrong 75% of the time" Clayton, he said that the Gandy signing was a move to cover their bases just in case of the worst possible scenario, which leads me to believe that TD has more moves in plan. The one thing we cant do is plug a rookie 2nd round LT in there...that would spell disaster for the entire team. A rookie guard? Sure. A rookie center? Go for it. But rookie Tackles rarely do well their first year. Sure there are exceptions to every rule, but a 2nd round choice probably wont solidify our LT position.
  19. Going to the bars in Saratoga tonight...bringing along a guy who just turned 21 yesterday, so it'll be fun to watch the newbie lose control.
  20. The Dolphins signed Vonnie Holliday...and they honestly expect him to contribute? What about his 5 sacks in the last 2 years and 13 tackles in 2004 enticed them to make such a bold move? Holliday is washed up, his play has significantly decreased since 2001.
  21. If we had a QB who could be Diflerish, we'll make it to the SB this year.
  22. Browns are still amazingly screwed. Crennel is going to have a tough time turning that bunch of misfits into a winner.
  23. This should probably be in the main forum...that way more people will wander across it.
  24. The Jets definitely got the better end of this deal. While I dont consider Coles an elite receiver...he is better than Moss. Moss could only run really fast in a straight line...balls would bounce off his helmet or off his chest all the time. At least Coles has great hands and can make the plays when called upon. Redskins are looking at yet another losing season.
  25. I also see that the Fins signed Vonnie Holliday... Only 5 years late, Fin fans!
