Give it time...give it time. And no way did TD release Pierson to make room for Neufeld...a 4th string TE's salary is, I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 500K. TD has someone in mind.
-
The Bills might have a player in mind...or they might have finally wised up to the fact that Pierson blows.

Economic Impact of the Bills on Erie County?

To put it nicely, if the Bills left Buffalo...Western New York would die a slow and painful death. -
The Bills should pass on taking DeMulling
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Silly Lions fans...any normal football fan will tell you that the Lions and "overpaying" go hand in hand. With TD, he has a reputation for not overpaying for players and letting them come down to his price. Millen on the otherhand is known for hurling money at players and pouting if he doesnt get his way. DeMulling will definitely be a Lion...just because TD is smart enough to stick to his guns and Millen is a sponge. -
what are the dolphins up to?

Doesnt half of the board act like that on a normal day? -
The Bills should pass on taking DeMulling
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently there is a radio station in Detroit that is claiming that DeMulling is likely to be a Lion by Wed, and the Lions are currently the only team negotiating with him. Its been reported on several Lions message boards. -
Lions fans on the message boards are acting like its a done deal that he'll sign with them, at the latest by Monday night.

Allocating money to our o-line
BillsGuyInMalta replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think anyone here thinks that Mike Williams is worth 9 million bucks a year, and we'd all love to take that money and spend it towards FAs. Sadly, we cant...cutting Big Mike only screws us further with the salary cap and he wont restructure. So we are stuck with what we got for the O-Line. -
Ask yourself...what person would really WANT a Josh Reed jersey? Speaking of jerseys, anyone kinda surprised that Terrence McGee doesnt have one yet? What with the Pro Bowl and being our #2 CB, you'd figure he'd get some replica recognition.

Nope. I'd like to hear TD actually come out and be direct. Say that McNally thinks he can turn Bannan or Peters into decent O-Lineman. Or say that the Bills are still going actively after O-Lineman. Or that the Shelton trade is still on the table. Give us some information other than "We are content with what we have" or "We are trying to get better". I actually am very confident about this Bills squad next year, not negative at all. I'd just like to see a little information on what our staff thinks of this year's squad, and what positions they are actively trying to upgrade. But judging from the last few years, TD will give us nothing new. Such a shame.

If Demulling signs with the Lions today, it should be interseting to hear what TD has to say tomorrow during that "Ask TD" section on BB.com. I'm guessing it'll be something along the lines of "We are happy with what we have"
-
With our O-Line, we are defitnitely going to be forced to draft O-Line with that 2nd rounder.
-
Wasnt Sobieski cut last year? Dont think he was on the squad this year.
-
How would you fill our o-line needs?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to JP-era's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dan Buenning? We can do better than him with our 2nd rounder...there will be MUCH better options open to us. Buenning strikes me as a solid 4th round pick, due to his lack of athletic skills. Got a good head on him, but I think the Bills could land a player like Evan Mathis with the 2nd rounder, who also is versatile and can play tackle if needed. But I like the sentiment, its easier to have a rookie guard start than it would be to have a rookie left tackle start *shudder*. -
People are going to start jumping off bridges when Demulling signs with Detroit later today. When you have no money to spend, its very hard to lure free agents. Thats just the reality of our situation.

Scottie Pippen to be Bills TE???

I hate it when BuffaloBills.com lets their message board members out of their pens. -
what about rj as our #3?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would definitely unite the board... -
I'm somewhat surprised that Tobeck is getting no interest on the FA market...he's been a very solid Center for a long time. Perhaps age has caught up to him.

News on the Womack Front
BillsGuyInMalta replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still see him landing in Detroit though...if he really wanted to be here, he'd have signed on with us by now, or soon after his visit. He's probably just using the Bills as a scare tactic to get Detroit to up their money offer to him. Lots of players do this. And knowing Detroit's idiotic ownership and GM, they'll easily buckle and send him the cash he wants. -

People should expect Demulling to be a Lion...they have more money than we do. Simple as that. We are offering him a chance to start, so are they...AND the Lions are willing to throw boatloads of money at him in the process. Not surprising at all to me because of our salary cap situation. -
Friggin Travis...can we trade him to the CFL?
-
I'm a big Spencer fan, and if I remember correctly he's another O-Lineman who can play more than one position. I'd like him as our center obviously, but its always good to have versatility on the line. Its funny, because I hear some peoeple say that Spencer would be rated higher if he had more experience at center, but to me thats a positive since he dominated his one year at center so well, he can only get better at it.

It's us or the lions for Demulling
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to know what money we are going to free up to sign Demulling in the first place. I dont like it when people just assume that the Bills can dig up 2.5 million bucks out of nowhere to sign a player who can go to a team that has been known for throwing money at FAs the last few years. The Bills have very little cap room, which means very little room to negotiate a creative contract. The Lions hand out money like its going out of style, and if anything I'd say that Demulling is using the Bills as a negotiating tool for his Lions contract because that way he can always threaten to go to the better team (The Bills) if the Lions dont pony up the dough. This is a business, and Demulling is being smart. I dont think I'm negative if I look at the cap space we have and wonder how the Bills can afford a player like Demulling. I'm just being observant. I'd love to see Demulling play in Buffalo, but I'm also expecting a bunch of "THE BILLS ARE STOOPID!" posts to spring up if he signs with Lions because people like to ignore that salary cap thing. And hey, this is the kindler, gentler Wall...telling me to shut up is a big no-no...I think I need therapy now... -
Baas would be the best option for us because he is amazingly versatile and dominant...sadly, his stock has been soaring lately and he'll easily be gone by our pick. A shame too because I remember the Bills front office spending a lot of time with him at the Combine, according to the Buffalo News, so clearly they are interested in him. I just dont think he'll be around when our pick comes up. For our 3rd rounder, I'd like to see the Bills go after Tackles Wesley Britt or Michael Munoz...or Guards Evan Mathis or Logan Mankins. Mathis is very interesting to me because he played the majority of his career at tackle, so there is another versatile O-Lineman for McNally to play with.
